Ol' reliable
I know it's a hard pill to swallow throwing a grand into a rack, but if your modules add up to 10's of grands then you want a chassis that you know will supply the right amount of power, every time, all the time. I've had mine installed for quite some time now and there have never been any issues. Protect your investments!
Excellent 500 series rack
I've had many 500 series chassis and this is hands down my favorite. Units are quiet and it can handle power needs with ease. No separate power supply and the power switch on the front is great too. Bought a second one right after I got it hooked up. Love it!
One less thing to worry about!
Had this rack for a few months now, has been nothing but as advertised - quiet, extremely functional and top notch build quality. I left it half open (5 slots of 10 filled) for a few months and nothing even so much as a ghost fart was noticeable in my noise floor with the modules I had in it. Once I need more slots, I'm getting another.
Really good
My 1st 500 series rack- I was concerned about noise issues with the power supply being integrated into the rack, but so far so good- (I still have an empty slot next to end with power supply so I guess real test will be once I fill it). But really I"ve been using pairs of pre"s and eq"s, and haven"t given the rack a second thought because I"m focused in on making music... that to me is a really good sign.
The right choice
I purchased the R10 a few months ago and wanted to put it the test before submitting this review. As you already may know are many 500 Series racks to choose from but the R10 is the right choice. This unit may cost a bit more but you get what you pay for in style, build quality and performance. I have filled the R10 with assorted mic pres and compressor units and the rack works flawlessly providing the necessary power to each of the processors. Simply put, the R10 was clearly the right choice.
High Quality Chassis
Really solid build and design that one usually expects from Neve. The 200% power supply is a really nice feature. The draw meter is also useful when tracking and using multiple units at a time. If you're looking for a chassis that you just want to work the way it's supposed to, and provide enough power for your units without having to thing about it again, this is a great choice.
