The Gretsch Renown Series shell pack delivers a tone and playing experience that will have you going back to it for every musical genre and style. Their sound covers the warm tones of the 1950s as easily as it punches with the authority of 1980s rock. Much of the shells' versatility comes from their 7-ply maple construction and 30-degree bearing edge. And Gretsch upgraded the Renown Series with their 302 hoops, which exude the same character as die-cast hoops, but with added resonance thanks to their lighter weight.

Gretsch Drums from Sweetwater is "growing" on me

I have bought several products from Sweetwater in the past and have always been impressed with every product and the service Sweetwater provided so spring of 2020 I ordered this Gretsch Renown drum kit -- and I have been VERY pleased. Sounds great! Looks great! Plays great! But I got so excited I added 3 more Gretsch Renown rack toms, numerous cymbals and a Gibraltar rack. It rocks! I will continue to do business with Sweetwater because they do such a great job. And I am particularly aware of how good job they do -- as today I received a muscle rack -- which is for storing goods that are very heavy -- something Sweetwater does not sell. After numerous problems and delays it finally arrived today -- with the box broken open on both ends. My first thought was: Sweetwater would never package something this poorly. It's too bad they are not in the muscle rack business. However I do not expect to purchase another muscle rack -- but I will be purchasing more music gear -- and Sweetware is always my first choice.
