Beautiful guitar

By Sweetwater Customer

Bought this as an "upgrade" from my squire and I absolutely love it. So far it sounds great and has gotten me a lot of compliments. I love chameleon pigments and I like that the shift in the color is very subtle and fades out from the center. I'd prefer a smoother finish, but it isn't terribly rough and doesn't bother me when playing for a while. If anything I'm sliding less.

Also of course A+ customer service from Sweetwater as always

Bang for buck

By Chad

It's a solid guitar for the price. The wizard neck is always fun to play on. If you love purple then there's nothing left to think about. The color shifts depending on the angle you look at it. Even out of the more expensive guitars in my collection I still get the most compliments on this one, and that says a lot.

RGA42EX

By Sweetwater Customer

I wanted a cheaper guitar so I can play something other than my Stratocaster and loved the looks and neck profile on this guitar so I got it. And I'm impressed I've played it about 2 hours a day since I got it back in December 2022 haven't really touched the strat since. Stays in tune and the pups sound great. Only issue I've had is the paint has worn off pretty quickly around the pickups and volume knobs. I put a graphtec tusq nut in it the day I got it so don't know what the tuning stability is like with the stock plastic nut. Would recommend to a beginner or anyone looking for a low cost well made guitar that plays and sounds great!

Great for the price

By Cody W. from Galesburg, IL

Thin fast neck, amazing finish, good electronics, good pick ups. I do wish the pick ups had a little more sustain though. They really aren't bad pick ups but not great either. Put some locking tuners on it and swap the pups and this guitar will be flawless. I do recommend it for anyone looking for a pretty nice budget guitar that you could modify in the future if you wanted. Can do these little mods cheaper than buying a super expensive guitar

ibanez rge42ex

By Sweetwater Customer

this new ibanez rga42ex is amazing. my new jackson is fast and it screams. the ibanez is absolutely SMOOTH. different neck and pickups, i am amazed at how much i like it. the looks of this thing is beautiful. some people buy art but the ibanez hanging on my wall (ready to play) is the real deal! frets are a little sharp on the edge, but not bad. like the 5 way switch and this thing can bark too. totaly in love with the ibanez rga42ex for the looks and playability. i,m not a great player so i don,t need a high end guitar.pricewise- can,t beat it!! sweetwater makes playing fun again. thank you . doug means ps the new cord is nice also

Ibanez Standard RGA42EX Black Aurora Burst Matte

By Nancy H. from NAUGATUCK, CT

The guitar played nice. The paint however in my opinion was not done well and felt like sandpaper where the darker color appeared, then nice and smooth at the edges. Most definitely a Mfg issue. Sweetwater immediately took care of my concerns and I will be returning the guitar once a replacement arrives. Loved both the fretboard and coloring on this beauty. Moved onto another model all together -- Too afraid the next one will be the same. Hopefully I'm the only one this has happened to. Good luck!
