Ibanez J Custom RG8570 Electric Guitar - Royal Blue Sapphire Reviews
Like all of the guitars in Ibanez's high-end J Custom line, the RG8570 is brimming with looks, tone, and playability. Its beautiful AAA flamed-maple-capped African mahogany body supplies unbelievable resonance and sustain. Its 5-piece neck provides a just-right feel, while Ibanez's J Custom fret edge treatment infuses its bound ebony fingerboard with the ultimate in smooth playability. DiMarzio's Tone Zone, True Velvet, and Air Norton pickups push your amp to get crunchy rhythms and hot leads. Beyond that, you can bend, twist, and dive-bomb with impunity, thanks to an Edge-Zero tremolo. The RG8570 features recessed control knobs, Gotoh strap lock pins, and an eye-grabbing tree of life fingerboard inlay.

Worth every penny
I'm not a pro; barely an amateur. However, I believe this is the best guitar that I will ever have the opportunity to play. Sweetwater's Luthiers set it up absolutely perfectly. The action is crazy low and not a single fret buzz across all strings. The finish is absolutely gorgeous and very well constructed. The neck is ultra thin and is just a pleasure to play. Having an instrument of this calibur will spoil you!! Nothing else compares. I feel this is the best 6-string that Ibanez has put out this year. Buy it. You won't regret it.
Having said that, I wish they would have put locking tuners on it (not a huge deal) and as the other reviewer pointed out, it is a heavy guitar.
The only change I would ever consider making on this guitar would be to swap out the pickups for some active EMGs. Honestly, it doesn't need the EMGs, I just prefer the sound of an active pickup.
Even more beautiful with white pickups
I love this guitar. I swapped out the DiMarzios for white Seymour Duncans, which are brighter, and have a stronger output. And it looks so much better with the white pickups. A warning if you plan on doing this yourself: the routings are specific to the DiMarzios. This means that the mounting tabs on the Seymour Duncans had to be whittled down significantly to get them to fit. The playability is excellent, but this is a mahogany axe, and the weight shows it. It's quite heavy. The finish is excellent, and the color is simply marvelous.
