Ibanez Prestige RG5120M - Polar Lights Reviews
The Ibanez Prestige RG5120M offers high-end looks and a tone that hits like a pile driver — it’s a brutal axe for guitarists with refined tastes. Ash-topped African mahogany supplies you with a solid tonal base, while a comfortable 5-piece Super Wizard HP neck and slippery-fast bird’s-eye maple fingerboard inject your playing with a serious dose of speed. Experience the full gamut of aggressive yet articulate high-gain tones, courtesy of a duo of Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers. Benefit from complete pitch control and rock-solid intonation, thanks to a Lo-Pro Edge tremolo. The RG5120M comes complete with luminlay side dots and a durable gloss finish.

Outstanding Instrument!
This guitar is amazing in quality and in playability!
Prestige! Definitely NOT Overrated!
I will start by stating that this review is my opinion , and I am just a beginner level guitar enthusiast. I have had many guitars over the past 19 years , but never a Prestige. Until now!
I let my new prize sit for 24 hours , in the sealed box , to acclimatize and then started opening the treasure chest. Top notch packing job from Sweetwater. Guitar fits so good in the case , no chance for movement.
I bought the Polar Lights color and it is great. There are several colors that PoP with this paint. The craftsmanship is worth the cost. It feels AMAZING in your hands.
Pickups are great so far , it sounds good and plays out of this world.
I wish I just sucked it up and bought a Prestige a decade ago! My playing would be at medium if not better.
So IMO , buy one of these guitars , there is no comparison between under $ guitars. I will be buying high end from now on.
Thanks Sweetwater!
Beauty & the Beast
First of all I have yet to see a picture that truly does the finish justice, it can be green, purple, black or anywhere in between, and has a ton of sparkle to it. The Birds Eye maple fretboard is stunning and feels great. The Fishman pickups offer amazing note clarity on high gain settings, I do feel that sometimes I have to back the guitar volume down to get really clean sounds. I have run the guitar through my Mesa Mark V as well as my Quad Cortex and was able to get great tone with ease. The fit and finish is fantastic like you would expect from a Prestige. Had they offered this exact guitar in a hardtail version I would have probably opted for that, although I'm impressed with the tuning stability. If you don't like heavy guitars or have back problems you may want to pass on this as it is every bit of 9lbs.
