Very Impressed

By Greg from Texas

I recently bought a bass guitar for my son—it's his first instrument, and he recommended Sweetwater because of their great service. I wasn't sure where he got that information, but I decided to honor his request. I'm so glad I did! The entire experience was top-notch. After placing my order, I received a personal call thanking me for my business. The bass arrived on time, and they even sent me pictures of the guitar before it shipped. My son absolutely loves his new bass. Sweetwater exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely be back for future purchases

The Serling Sub Ray5 -- budget instrument impresses

By Ron

10 years ago I bought a EBMM Stingray 5 from Sweetwater which became my main 5-string. Recently I saw this so-called "walnut" Ray5 (it's much more like Gibson's cherry mahogany finish in person) on Sweetwater and thought it looked really nice, especially for the price, and having heard good reviews figured I'd give this budget Ray a try just for fun. Out of the box it was set up well. I'll credit Sweetwater for that. But Sterling gets the credit for the fit and finish including the neck which plays really well, and no sharp fret ends or sloppy fretwork that I can see. The strings feel like they are probably EB Slinkys. The neck was set nice and straight, I just needed to adjust the saddles and the intonation on the G string and a few minutes later it was ready to gig, which it did quite nicely. Pretty impressive at this price point, would definitely recommend these. Thanks and shout out to Robby Resnick as well, my Sweetwater sales engineer since 2008!
