Awesome controller

I originally tried to purchase a Pioneer DDJ-FLX 10 directly from Pioneer. Long story short, I'm never going to buy or use a Pioneer product due to a bad experience with them.

After extensive online research and some input from Max from Sweetwater, I identified the Rane Four DJ Controller as a top contender. It was delivered within 2 days. I have used it for about two months, and I love it. It has great features, I am still practicing and discovering how to use them. It has so many and is easy to use. Plus, I love that it was compatible with Serato.

Sturdy construction and makes using stems a breeze.

I often buy open box/demo items from Sweetwater. and they have yet to disappoint. Plenty about the Rane Four can be found online. I also have a Rane One. Next up, the Rane Performer, which blends the best of the One and Four. I enjoy the Four's dedicated STEMS buttons, as well as having the virtual layer for turntables 3 and 4. I'd give five stars, but I like having XLR on the booth out, and I miss the motorized platters. If you DJ using Serato DJ Pro, and you like Rane quality and features, this is a great deck.

I've had several controllers from another brand that was leading the DJ market, but this Rane Four controller is a beast. So far it has been the best controller I've ever had. I now have full control of Serato DJ Pro and all its functions especially the stems function. Special thanks to Matt Emick, my favorite Sweetwater sales engineer.

This is an amazing and reliable controller! Since I switch over to Rane last year, I will not be going back to Pioneer

Awesome....The Best Controller!!!

Here's the good stuff: The DJ mixer has a great layout and feels good. I really like the display over the pads and the way stems and FX are implemented. Nice balance of club-meets-performance style.

Here's why I don't recommend it: The metal plate over the faders gives the impression that this is a serviceable mixer. It is a 'dummy' plate. Only the crossfader can be accessed, despite the plate covering ALL of the faders. I think this is deceptive! Accessing the faders to service/replace them means flipping the board over and almost completely disassembling it (obviously voiding any warranty) to get to the faders to desolder them from the mainboard to replace. Faders are mechanical and WILL need to be serviced/replaced on ANY DJ board. So this means this board is not really meant to be repairable, which is sad for how much it costs.
In addition, the inside of the FX paddles is a plastic piece which connects to the board and is prone to failure. The fix is not nearly as difficult as servicing the faders, but it does mean voiding the warranty by opening the mixer when you need to repair the plastic piece. Youtube has videos of this modification. But why bother?

Bottom line: If this were a $ DJ mixer, I would say go for it and expect it to last maybe a year of regular use. Since this mixer is considered a 'flagship' and costs $ I would avoid it. Professional-grade gear needs to be repairable or it's just a waste of money. Skip the flash and buy a quality product.

Love the rane four controller. It's so much better than I anticipated. The jog wheels are great and very responsive without a doubt. Purchased this demo model. Would give it 5 stars but I am not able to register it on the Rane website. Wish I knew that before hand.

I have for the better part of a decade I swore by Pioneer. Although the Pioneer DDJ system has never failed me, this Rane Four is a complete game changer. Rane paid "attention to detail" when designing this MONSTER unit. If you can give this a realistic analogy, it was like trading in a black bear for a silver back gorilla. WARNING-THIS UNIT IS NOT FOR YOU JUNIOR BEDROOM DJ'S JUST STARTING OUT. Wait to see the compliments you receive when people walk up to your DJ booth and see you operating this incredible unit. I'm officially a "RANE" guy! Put on your big boy pants and set up to a real DJ unit!!

Rane has done it again! What an awesome controller, built quality feels like it will last a lifetime, Stem split feature is mind blowing and allows for even more creative waysto DJ. Sweetwater Customer Service is also Top notch, Big shout to Dillon who really went above and beyond to make sure I got everything I needed! 5 Stars All The Way!

Best controller I have ever owned. So far, it has been more reliable, more user friendly, and more useful than any piece of Pioneer DJ equipment I've used. The inputs are fantastic, and the output is even better. Crystal clear sound, bright screens, great onboard FX. The platters are huge, and feel fantastic to scratch on. Overall fantastic controller.

Just be prepared.. this thing is a BEAST. Very large and heavy, but built like a tank.

I bought this to replace my pioneer ddjsx3 and I'm so glad I picked this controller over the over price pioneer controller around the same level as this one , let me start by saying the sound card on this controller is really good you can tell the difference on the quality of the audio , all the effects and the stems effects are top of the line is so much easy to create transitions from definitely worth every penny .
