Perfect for busking

By Sweetwater Customer

I use it mainly for transporting my Nord keyboard, Pa speaker, and portable power station for busking. It is able to hold all of my things efficiently. I can easily fold it up and fit it in my tiny car, and it's sturdy enough to pull down rough, gravel parking lots and sidewalks.

Great Cart, Disappointing Support

By Fred H. from Naples, FL
Music Background: 50+ years playing keyboards and bass

Purchased this cart a year ago. As an aging, gigging musician with back problems, it has been fantastic. But at 11 months, the ball-bearings fell out of one of the steering casters. I contacted the company, they had me send photos and my invoice. Their reply was that the failure was due to wear-and-tear, and their warranty "only covers defects in manufacturing." They didn't even offer to sell me a replacement part! Not the kind of support that Sweetwater gives us.

Wonderful cart that saves me a lot of time as a drummer

By Mark

As a drummer, I've got a lot of gear to haul for each show. And this has cut down my trips from my vehicle from several to just two. It also collapses and fits in my small Nissan trunk, along with all my gear. Has been an incredible addition to my equipment and now I wonder how I got along without it. Definitely worth the money if you can afford it. You won't regret how much energy/time/effort you'll save.

Solid cart

By Chris from AZ
Music Background: Gigging bassist/drummer

I've been a gigging drummer for years, but only recently bought a cart. This is solid, well-built, and easy to use. I like the telescoping feature most. One downside is, the release cables are a bit finicky, but do work well overall. I would also recommend buying the straps; that'll secure stacked items on bumpy or uneven surfaces

Just What I Needed

By Fred H. from Naples, FL
Music Background: 50 years playing rock, folk, country

As an aging rocker, my back was not happy moving keyboards, bass, amps, etc. I have found this cart to be a great solution. I use my piano bench as a base, can lay a keyboard flat, held in place by the side handles. Other equipment fits securely on top. It maneuvers well, and goes up or,down the occasional stair with ease. Simple to fold down for storage.

A little giant

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Bar bands and recording for 40 years.

Howdy:

I used one of these, the R6RT, to move from my 5th floor apartment to my condo, to a storage unit, and back to the condo. Everything. Furniture. Everything. Including all my instruments and amps, not just the dishes. By myself, for the most part, and I'm 60. Get the straps.

It works as well as a hand truck, too.

Its close

By Sweetwater Customer

It has definitely made moving my gear around much easier. I'm really disappointed though that on the "push side" (the side with the larger wheels), when I have a load over 200 or so pounds, the handle doesn't extend all the way to the frame, so when I try to push it, it just collapses on itself. Very frustrating. I have to pull it everywhere I go which works fine, but is definitely not ideal... especially since I bought the bag that holds stands on that end. I have to reach around to get a grip on the handle in order to pull it which gets difficult with any sort of load on it.

Back saver

By John K. from Michigan
Music Background: from the mid 60's and still going.

I did not get mine through Sweetwater ...If I needed another I would. Mine has humped amps ,P.A.'s and the old heavy speakers that went with the system ...The difference I see is the two big wheels are hard rubber...My bigger wheels were inflatable. They died so I made a solid metal axle and got two hard rubber tires for it...easy fix...I have had this cart over 11 years...It functions well and it still extends and closes easily… The best $... I ever spent....The handles collapse or open by pulling on the cable at each end...when fully extended it has a locking pin located under the frame...it has to be pushed to shorten the length...simple to use fit easily into my small trunk or into the backseat when entirely folded up...If you are young and energetic you may think you don't want one...These come in handy for all ages...That is my take on it...

Sturdy cart, flexible configurations. Folds up pretty small. Beats carrying gear in your arms!

It's not bad

By Jody S. from PA

I really needed this for my drums. Not many choices for me the 42" cart would be economical, but 52" is a big jump in price, but better suited for my needs and possibly load in on one trip. I used it first time and it was great! I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but when I close the cart to its smallest and fold down the sides, they do not fold flat and the right wheel brake is hard to engage. Hope this thing holds up it's going to be used a lot.

Doesn't last

By Erick T. from Boulder, CO
Music Background: Professional

I've had this for about a year, and today one of the front wheels spilled all of its ball bearings out on the sidewalk. About a week into owning it one of the plastic wing nuts broke.
It's flimsy. Not worth hauling any sort of heavy gear.

Essential

By Garrett from Buffalo, NY
Music Background: Engineer / Percussionist

1 man, 1 cart, 1 small PA gig, 1 trip indoors! Essential equipment for engineers doing remote recording and small to mid sized PA gigs. Sturdy build! Price is high, but I expect this cart will pay for itself with years of use.

By Until D. from Fond du Lac, WI

We already had a smaller version of this cart. We added this one to make our entire load in/out to one trip. Built very well, easy to use, compact, versatile, and the price is right. Love this thing!!!

Rock N Roller is Essential Gear

By Stevie J. from Naples Florida
Music Background: Working musician - guitar, vocals, and keys.

Every musician who needs to transport gear needs this type of cart and the Rock N Roller fits the bill for me. I'm a keyboard player who needs to move two keyboards, a stand, two powered speakers, a rack with synth modules and interfaces, and a case filled with cords, control pedals, wires and cables, and other misc. gear. I'm not getting any younger and I was tired of making four or five trips back and forth to the car and the stage and the studio so I bought the R8T and now I get it all done in one easy trip. I highly recommend this unit because of it's light weight, it's capacity, and because it is sturdy. I subtracted a half star because of the tricky cable that you need to step on and press to get the bars to fold up or down. It's a bit of a pain until you get the hang of it. All in all I'm very happy with this unit!

A must-have! How did I live without it?

By Charlie P. from Chicago, IL
Music Background: audio engineer and musician

I own my own remote recording business, formerly based in NYC. I finally bought an original R8 from my sales engineer Mike Conyers after moving into an elevator building. There is no way I could have done without it, with a very long walk from the elevator to the load-out area of the building. I would be blocking another resident's access, a piece of gear would have been stolen when left unattended, or my back would have protested. Luckily the R8 saved me from all this. I loaded two heavy Pelican 1610 cases, 3 to 4 SKB loaded 4-space rack cases, a heavy speaker stand bag full of mic stands, laptops, etc. in one load. I'm pretty sure I reached or exceeded the 500 lb listed capacity. I find it funny the R8RT replaces the R8's inflatable wheels, which always needed air with the solid tires I did the same a few months into ownership and never looked back!

A true life and back saver!

By Darin A.

My only issue with this amazing cart is that it took me so long to get one. The very first time I used it was for a gig on a cruise ship. I had a guitar, amp, pedal board, music stand and gig bag to deal with and I had to move all that from a hotel garage to a large dock to a ship. That journey included three ramps and five gang planks. No kidding! If I didn't have this cart\t to do the heavy lifting the load in and out would have taken me 90 minutes. Of course, I never would have survived that, especially with two herniated discs in my neck. But thanks to the R8RT, I was able to do the whole thing in less than ten minutes.

I was going over bumpy and uneven and seriously slanted terrain but the R8RT glided over everything like BUTTER! It's easy to adjust, carries a lot and is a must have for any working musician.

The Rock N Roller ROCKS!!!

Thanks to my Sales Engineer, Alan. A smooth transaction, as always. Sweetwater is the best.

Great Value

By Dave G. from Dayton, OH

After 45 years of carrying amps, speakers, and other gear to gigs, I finally decided a cart was in order. This is a great cart for the money. I can haul all my gear (keyboard, racks, speaker cabs, and stands) in one trip.

Not as good as I hoped

By Tom B. from NJ
Music Background: Pro Musician

The cart has always been a little flimsy. It says it is rated for 500 pounds. I had 200 pounds on it and the front wheel bent rolling it over a doorway saddle. I emailed their customer service and received an email saying there was nothing they can do. Maybe I should try banging the wheel back straight and remember to keep less than 500 pounds on the cart! They didn't even give me option of buying a new wheel. They just sent me on my way. I've only used this cart 20 times max! I will buy another cart and it won't be a RocknRoller. P.U.
