Hi-hat Clutch with Quick-release Washer

Traditional clutches will feel old hat after you try the TAMA Quick-Set Hi-Hat Clutch. This clutch locks and releases in mere seconds. This means faster setups when you're rushed for soundcheck and faster teardown when you're in a hurry to get offstage. Not only that, but the Quick-Set's sliding switch mechanism prevents loosening through playing, and its top nut allows the top hi-hat to float freely for better tone and projection. For players who are looking to improve their setup time and cymbal tone, Sweetwater recommends the TAMA Quick-Set Hi-hat Clutch.

Easy to use, good clutch and its TAMA!

Great Upgrade

By Matthew N. from Knoxville, TN
Music Background: Drummer

I upgraded to the Tama Quick Set Hi-Hat Clutch on my Gibraltar hi hat stand. I was running into an issue of the washers coming loose when holding my top hat cymbal. Keeping a consistent tension on the top cymbal was very inconsistent as well. Once I swapped out for the Tama clutch, all of the issues were resolved immediately! The top hat cymbal stays locked in place quick and easy. The tension also allows for excellent hi hat chicks through the pedal, and the perfect amount of looseness for open hat playing.
Saved a lot purchasing this versus buying the Tama 900 series stand for 10x the price of the clutch.

Be careful on install

By William P. from Delaware

The pictures show quick release only and suggests that alone on underside but video show both the foam and quick release. We did not put foam on underside now it's stuck on

Nice addition for Hi Hats

By Eric K. from Discovery Bay, VA.
Music Background: 30+ yrs Drumming

Goes together quick & easy.
Not really sure if it saves a a lot of time. But this Tama Quick set can eliminate the chance of cross threading on the typical hi hat clutch assembly and hold the hat solid and secure, as it's intended. No problems with it at all.
As usual Sweetwater Customer Service and Shipping Kicks it through the uprights once again.

Almost a homerun

By Paul from California

Die hard Tama fan. When I saw this I truly believed my prayers had been answered lol. They kind of were. Functions as described! The problem with a guy like me is...well I like my hats pretty snug. In order for this to function for me I needed to loosen the top hat screw, put the bottom on any then tighten as much as possible. After playing I could just pop the bottom right off no problem. But if I wanted to put it back on, well, it just wouldn"t clip on. So there I go having to loosen the top again and repeat the process. Not what I hoped for. Anyway, I"m sure it'd be great for people who like their hats medium/loose. My 2¢.

Quick and easy

By Chip from De
Music Background: I remember club dates, set up on wednesday and tore down Saturday

I used it for the first time last week end at a gig. It was very easy to figure out how to use so it went right on. I had to readjust how much I stage the cymbals in the open position because there's no felt on top. A little tighter on the squish of the felt and a little closer on the separation, because of the freedom of movement of the top cymbal. The cymbal pivots on the plastic part, (red part in the picture), which is in contact with the top of the bell, so orientation is important. There is a very slight difference in the sound, but not even noticed once we started playing. The set-up really wasn't any faster because of the trial and error I had to do, but take down was a snap. Set-up next time should be a snap too.
Snapping the clip vs. screwing and unscrewing the nut every time we set-up and tear down is a no brainer. It was always a pain, especially tearing down when everyone is in a hurry to get out and go home. This is going to help.
I got the, (Quick-Set) cymbal toppers too. I usually take all the felts and wingnuts off first and then get the cymbals out and put them all on. Then put everything back together. No more chasing dropped nuts and felts. Just grab several cymbals and go to the set and pop the Topper and felt off with one hand, put that cymbal on and slide everything back on. Repeat for the next one. Way faster!
