Samson Q8 best mic for under $
I used a pair of Samson Q7s for years because I thought they sounded great. When all of my gear was stolen I replaced them with a Q8 and another Q7. Honestly, I can't notice any differences in sound or quality between the two. I also had a couple Shure SM58s which seem to be the standard mic that everyone uses. I did not replace them because I think the Samsons sound better than the SM58s. They are heavier and thicker than most mics so I would suggest using a larger rubber mic clip. I highly recommend the Samson Q8 mic.
Our go to mic for female vocal
We have an extensive mic kit that we can use when doing live sound for ourselves or clients. We picked up a few Q8X mics after doing a little research and getting stellar customer service from their sales team when we needed info. The mic is hot. It's also very heavy so don't over extent your mic stand and expect it to not sag and slowly drop. It feels like you are holding a weapon when you pick it up. We love it as a snare drum mic but it shines with hi alto to soprano female vocals. Our lead vocalist is a soprano and this mic is her choice and we love it. I have also used it with female clients singers and it's great. Comes off a little thin compared to a 58 on male vocals very similar to a beta58. Great mic for the price and the handling noise is near as quiet as an SM58.
