For Strymon Iridium Users...
If your rig consists of a Strymon Iridium connected directly to a powered speaker via a DI box, don't go cheap on the DI. Before I got the ProD2, I used a stereo DI box that costs half as much as the ProD2, thinking that all DI boxes are the same... wrong! The Iridium sounded good before, but at times I noticed that some notes carried something slightly extra with them, I'll call it a "digital fizz" for lack of a better term. In a band mix, it wouldn't necessarily be noticeable, but perceptible when noodling in my studio. I took a leap and tried the ProD2 and am very happy with the results, the notes are now more clear, the fizz is gone, and the bass response is fuller. The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that the output volume is lower. I chose the ProD2 over the Radial JDI primarily due to the price difference, thinking that at some point there would be diminishing returns from spending another $.
Essential DI box
Great build , feels like it will last a long time. Using it live with Boss GX-100 to board. No problems, seamless. Just get those extra long XLR cables and you're all set.
Radial ProD2 2-channel Passive Instrument Direct Box
I have been quite please with this purchase. It has allowed me to play through our hospital PA system with ease. Also, I have used to reduce hum, pop, and crackle from my Epiphone P-90 pick-ups on my Orange tube head.
Dandy Pedal
this seems to be a darling little DI box. Darling indeed
Very Nice. Very Nice Indeed
I think this is a darling little direct box. It seems to work quite swimmingly. Nothin like a good direct box. That's for sure
Oh yea, it’s worth it!
Oh yea, it's worth it!
Just what we needed
During our Open Mics musicians with guitars that do not have a pre-amp were getting lost. There did not seem to be a balance. With the DI Box, everything came into better balance through the mixer. I really appreciate having David to reach out to with any questions.
Acoustic Player
Chrystal clear interface from my pedal board output straight into two separate mono channels or one stereo channel on the main mixer. I prefer my DI box on the output of my pedal board so I can safely plug into PA systems anywhere without worrying about smoking a mixer channel. Outputs a clean mic-level signal on a balanced XLR plug for great noise canceling. A real must-have.
BUILT LIKE A TANK
This baby T
I see these everywhere.
Finally bought this after just plugging my keyboards in to the p.a. I keep seeing these whenever the venue has a front of sound person. These things are tough, road worthy and transparent. What's not to love?
Great Build Quality
Great build quality and is so versatile. I can't believe it took me this long to get one of these!
Excellent DI
I own two of these and they're the sixth and seventh Radial boxes I have. They're built like tanks, have every option you could need, work every time you pick them up and I love the green finish. And I have to mention that they sound great too. I use them for both stereo applications and dual mono when I'm tight on inputs, time or space. Highly recommend.
A classic, amazing DI Box.
Perfect for live or studio setting stereo instruments; and cleaning up that sound!
Great Solution!
I needed something to use with my Roland TD-20, and this was the perfect fit.
Radial engineering for the win!
This is my 10th Radial DI box, purchased to increase my channel count at festivals wit the best DIs made. These are are super tough and reliable. I got my first box over 7 yeas ago and it still performs perfectly, as I know this one will as well. Thanks again Radial.
Nice
A solid product. Well built. Can't go wrong.
My tracks needed a facelift.
I play in 2 bands and when a keyboard player quit, I hit the Pro-Tool basement to replace him. I was using an old direct box. Then I thought, this is the 5th member of the band, why would I use inferior equipment. Now the tracks are clear an loud. Very happy with the quality.
This little box is a godsend.
I bought it to use as a glorified splitter, to turn one stereo signal into two. It does that very well. I can now use my highend DAC for listening and also route that signal back to an open AD to record the sound of my beautiful DAC. I'm very happy about this. The thru function only seems to lower the volume a few DB, and the side with the ground lift lowers the volume a bit more, but it looks to be the same beautiful signal. Adding some gain in the DAW does the trick.
I was happy about this alone. However I've found an even better use for it in my studio. I bought an Art MX822 line mixer that appears to be picking up sounds from other parts of my computer (which feels theoretically impossible, but after too many hours of testing and troubleshooting, that's exactly what's happening. If I were to play spotify, open my DAW, and enable to track with the ART mixer, I can very much see the signal from Spotif in my DAW. WEIRD STUFF!!!). Anyway... I'm upset with ART but in the meantime, I re-purposed this little godsend of a unit and patched it between the mixer and my AD. And i completely fixed the issue! I also noticed a terrible hum noise coming from the ART unit... and this seems to have corrected that as well. I doubt a replacement ART MX822 will work any better... but, thankfully I'm not at a loss because of this savior of a unit. It's worth every penny. Great great little box! I'm impressed, and now I won't think twice about Radial gear. I believe this is that well built. Solid construction... the inners appear to be top notch... passive... I'm not noticing any loss in fidelity of my sound (the DAC is a Burl B2 Bomber... it sounds just as good through the Radial as without, outside of a few DBs in volume lost).
I'm buying a second unit in a few weeks.
Does exactly what you need
Built like a tank, does exactly what you need it to do. 2 DIs in ONE box!
Clear, clean sound. Practically no noise! We've used primarily whirlwind DIs from GC just because they're cheap. We aren't doing that anymore after this purchase. We'll be buying radial any time possible from here on out.
Nice addition
Love the durability, sounds great. I've switched to using these DI's because they're tough and with having double lines cuts down on multiple boxes laying around. And basically 2 for the price of 1-1/2. They stay put for the most part because they have a little weight
It Works
I use this on my pedal board to split my electric and acoustic signals with an A B switcher. Really clean sound and haven't had any problems with it. I really like that it's super close to the size of regular direct box, most other dual channel boxes are pretty bulky but this one doesn't take up a huge foot print.
Perfect for what we need as a Church
We bought 2 of these to use with our Tracks and our Keys. They work great and are a great price.
It just works!
Simple box, plug it up and it works. I like that its pretty heavy and stays in place next to the mixer without sliding around.
So far so good.
How much can you say about a DI box. I bought it to replace two single boxes. So far so good. Half the weight. Sounds good. No controls less fussing. You do have the ground lift. I'm very happy with this box. I use one channel in church and stereo with the cover band.
Does the job
I've been using whirlwind direct boxes for years and have really liked them, but Grant recommend the Radial ProD2 to me, He said that he liked the way they sounded better. Once I put it to work, I found he was right. This is a great box and I use two of them on my V-Drum kit. I love that you can add a 15dB pad any of the outputs if it's needed. Thanks Grant for recommending these. I will be switching to the Radial's from now on.
Radial ProD2
Purchased this after research involving how to get a decent acoustic piano sound from a digital system. Connected it between my Juno DS88 and mixing board. The 88StageGrand patch absolutely came to life.
Dont really know how or why but the proof is in the sound. Well worth it for sure. The DS88 has a fantastic action and now I have a great sound to go with it.
Beautiful Sound
Love this DI. Beautiful sound, no interference. Keyboard fills our house beautifully with this piece of equipment.
Oh Canada
Long after I leave this world this DI will still be here making music.
Wow!
Super heavy duty piece of gear. I tested this on a small mixer and was amazed how much background noise it removed. First I ran the signal chain as I normally do, synth through pedals and out from my last pedal into the mixer. Then I put the ProD2 in between the pedal and mixer. With gain and volume at the same spot, the first setup had a ton of noise. With the ProD2, there is literally no noise at all unless I crank the gain, mix level, master mix level and headphone level all the way up and at that point it's probably the mixer making noise. Very natural sound. You may not think you need it, but once you get it you'll hear the difference. It's now permanently on my pedalboard.
Reliable!
Probably one of the best all around DI that I ever came across, and the market has tons of DI's
claiming to be top notch. The Pro D1 and the Pro D2 by Radial are the only ones I use now a days.
Sounds fantastic for stereo keyboards, direct electric guitar rigs, direct bass, acoustic etc...,very reliable, and I depend on it constantly on weekend gigs. I've never had any failures over the years of using the Radial Pro D1 and the Pro D2. It is definitely worth paying extra for great sounding DI that has excellent reliability track record under normal use. just buy it..
Awesome!!
Gives such a clear sound, very nice piece of equipment!
Smooth & transparent
About as solid as it gets.....unless your plugging into a $100k mixer. This box is very transparent and does it's job well. I had many planned and "unplanned" needs for this unit and it always delivers.
DIs are not created equal
Good DIs are 100% worth the money—don't buy great gear and compromise it by playing through a cheap one! Sounds like we took a blanket off our digital piano compared to the off-brand we had before. Sturdy and noise-free.
Radial ProD2
Probably the best passive DI out there.
Extremely Versatile
What a great piece of gear that can be used for multiple needs! I use this mostly for guitar directly out of my pedal board. All of my post-preamp effects are stereo and I run my board through a TwoNotes amp/cabinet simulator either to my DAW for recording or to the board for live performance when a real guitar amp is too loud for small venues. Both applications sound beautiful through this. It can be used as two mono DIs or one stereo. It can even be run "in reverse" from low-impedance to high impedance for use as a re-amping device. And it's very sturdy - no worries about damage from normal use. Great buy.
DI To the Rescue!
This is my 3rd Pro D2 box and I have to say if you're a keyboard player you better be using one of these boxes, they are the best for keyboards! Hands down. I now have 1 for each keyboard. Easy to set up, one box for stereo, not like the cheap ones you get and have to have 1 for each side, and are built tough and sturdy! You'll be glad you chose this direct box.
FANTASTIC DI!!!!
As a keyboard player I've had my share of DI's over the years. This Radial ProD2 blows me away. It's passive - no battery or phantom power required - and it sounds SO much better than the less expensive DI's I've used. My sound man asked me what I changed because my keys are so much warmer and have much better detail than before. Built like a tank (I saw a sound guy use one of these to prop up a wedge last week: no lie), this thing is fantastic.
Solid and Flexible
Perfect DI box for running your keys to FOH in stereo. This baby is solid; you can feel the quality. Box has the date on it so you know about when it was made. The thru jacks are great for running your own monitoring for the keys so you can hear yourself clearly above the general monitor mix on stage.
Works great ,built like a tank
I have other Radial DI's I got this one to use with my Stereo Trance audio amulet in my Gibson SJ
This DI brings the signal pure and strong to the board. Works great when tracking or playing live ,Radial ProD2 a name you can depend on to to the job.

An absolute must-have
Just got it, and it's no less than amazing. The sound is crystal clear, crysp and the unit is built like a tank.
What can I say...already planning to get a second ProD2 to hook other keyboards as well.
A "Must Have"
Great piece of gear and a "must have" for the digital instrumentalist especially. Humms........ they are a problem and most of the time the PROD2 can fix that . . . at the very least it will reduce the noise level to where it can be easily covered in a live performance. A little on the expensive side? Yea, but it does the job and I have about six of these and would not hesitate to purchase more if I needed them. These guys are rugged, simple to use and well worth the money.
Not going anywhere....
Very simple device, but does its job wonderfully and, based on the solid construction, probably will for years to come.
right on
can't ask for more. Its build solid and sound great....i guess when buzzing sound is gone when appling the two ground lift is a good thing. Great "tool" to have if you care about sound. Worth the prize why? i guess when you realized you been wasting money on cheap Di that don't always do the job, you wish you just went ahead and get these radial DI. do youselve a favor and don't save some money and get guality DI like these ProD2 for your keys..or tool box.
wow!
exactly what i hoped for. got rid of ground loop in/out. Worth the price.
Industry standard
After spending time in a number of studios, I'm beginning to suspect these DI's are as common (and sturdy) as SM58s. For good reason, too - they're reliable, sound great, and serve a host of functions. I use one at home now to clean up my bass and guitar signals before tracking, and it kills the electrical hum of my keyboard. It will become a key component of your set-up, for sure.
Good sound, built tough
I was going to give a 5, but the description of a 5 is "Blown Away" which we should probably reserve for special occasions:) It is as the reviews say. I previously owned a DI which colored the sound, but the PROD2 is clean sounding. It really is built like a tank, too. The Ground Lift does drastically reduce hum, and the two INs/OUTs means I can hook up two synths to it. A good value
Great DI.
This is the my first time using a DI.
Very easy to use. I use it in my studio.
It doesn't use batteries. You just connect it and
forget it.
Solid Quality
We bought them used on stereo keys and DJ mixers with 1/4 outputs. We been happy with them as we feel they provide a quality sound for EDM music.
Made the difference!
I own a Yamaha Motif XF which are known for having hum issues when running directly into the main board.
I had tried the cheaper rand active DI but could not predict the outcome at any given venue.
Finally out of frustration, I did some research and decided to try the ProD2.
My keyboard has never sounded better! The signal was clean and free of hum, and it just sounded richer.
Our drummer who is a picky son-of-a-gun said "your keyboard sounds REALLY good!"
That was a first time for that!
Sure, it's not the $300 radial DI, and it's more expensive than many, but it does a great job. I'll buy another soon for my other board!
Highly recommended!
A good solid unit
This passive box is very clean and warm sounding. The build is excellent. I should get many years of good use out of it.
Pro D2
It did exactly what I needed it to do! Great DI box
Perfect Direct Box for Keyboards
The Pro D2 has met all my needs and cut my set up time by 30%. The product is everything of come to expect from Radial. Keep up the good and consistent work.
Solved alot of problems
Now we're able to run the key board and drums thru the mixer with no issues, We had no problems with the key board except when I ran it thru the mixer, always sounded like the reverb was on when it wasn't. With the Pro D2 the key board has great sound even when running thru the mixer
great box for reducing stage clutter
This is my 2nd Pro D2 purchase. Radial DIs have a great reputation for quality sound & build but I actually like these stereo DIs best because they help me keep our stage a little tidier & trip-free:
I've got one box receiving separate signals from a Korg M-50 & Roland Gaia 2-tier keyboard station. Then a second box to receive the stereo-split click/cues & loops from our D/A-and-MacBook setup.
Absolutely love them!
Very, very please.
Radial Pro D2
Haven't had it long enough to give it a 5.0. Went to the recording studio and took it in case there were not enough 1/4" inputs. The engineer immediately took it and hooked it up to my keyboard. When the recording was done, it sounded great. He felt that it had a much better sound than going direct through guitar cables. This is a good clean, tough and reliable unit. After a few uses of it, I may upgrade this to a 5.0. Thanks.
Best value for my stereo rig
I've used this on a variety of mono & stereo sources -- acoustic & electric guitars, bass, keyboards, even computers. It sounds pure & natural and has solved a lot of problems. When I first bought it, my brother commented on the tone of my acoustic guitar after I playing it at my church. He said it sounded more open & detailed, and sat better in the mix...but I hadn't even told him about my new purchase! When I did, he was surprised that the big improvement in tone was due to the one part of the signal chain that's supposed to be transparent. And at $75 per channel, it's the best value for those who want a pair of great DIs without spending $400.
Radial Pro D2
This is the first review I've done for any gear, or any business. But the folks at Sweetwater are so cool, professional, and they are not hard sell guys either. I was in sales for many many years, and I've been guilty of using hard sell. It generally dosn't work. But I've been talking to my sales engineer, probably for 3 years or more, and he's given me good advice. OK, on with the show; we all know what DI's are, and if you are recording, you need 'em.I play both acoustic and electric guitar, and I have 5 synths. I got the D2 so that when I want to track a stereo synth I'm good
d. But I've used it on guitar, why not? Just like it says, built like a tank, the machining, fit and finish, the silk screening, jacks and buttons all top quality. They work, they are indestructable, and they look great. I'm going to be getting more of these. You can't go wrong. Hope this is helpful.
ProD2
Always reliable.
Rock solid DI
Perfect for getting 2 DI's in a small space. This is my second, and I don't have to worry about them at all!
Great
This box really cleans up the signals to my DAW. I've used it on Bass and Guitar effect outputs and was quite satisfied. The most dramatic improvement was with Digital Piano.
This DI is a nice throwback to the days when products were solid, heavy, simple and reliable. If you think you might want one, you probably do.
Rugged and dependable
Purchased for live and studio use with keys and synths. Works well and have had no issues with dependability. Construction appears to be of high quality and I'm not worried about it getting beaten up at a gig.
