Overlooked
Sure, it can do a sorta cranked Marshall thing just fine. But it sounds absolutely aces when dialed back for a warm bluesy tone. Plays well with most amps I have tried it with (orange, fender, marshall), even sounded pretty good plugged directly into an interface with a cab sim. Because they are so overlooked, you can find them used for just a fraction of the price.

I plugged this pedal into my interface and recorded into my DAW Reason 12 and I was very pleased with the results.
This Pedal simulated an amp sound that in pristine clean or dirty
If lost / stolen I would certainly replace it. Does it sound like a 50 watt Marshall head? I have no idea I've never used one, but if a JCM800 2205 50 sounds like this pedal, I understand the amps popularity.

My First Amp In A Box Kicks Butt
I could not be happier with this pedal. It gives me the tonal variety that I need to play rock, heavy metal, bluesy type stuff, and everything else in between. MXR knocked it out of the park with this one. I highly recommend it.

Amazing!!
As soon as I got mine in the mail, I immediately put it Infront of my EVH III. I turned it on and ran my wah through the effects loop. Immediately on key with the recording for bulls on parade. The pedal sounds amazing getting super dirty and super clean tones. Highly recommend for any pedalboad!

If you are looking for that Tom Morello sound this is it, nails it down perfect, couldn't have asked for a better sounding Tom Morello pedal. His sound is very simple and basic, but this nails down exactly what he does and how he uses it. Beyond happy with this pedal would highly recommend if you are a rage against the machine or Tom Morello fan!!!
Near perfect pedal if you're chasing the Tom Morello sound.
It's a really fun pedal to play with, especially if you're covering songs by RATM, Audioslave, or anything Tom Morello. If you are a fan of the Morello sound, this is for you.
The built in effects loop is cool but it's only active when the pedal is on. There is a big difference when you put a wah through it.
Discovered one night that the knobs on the Power 50 glow in the dark, which was pretty neat.
