Nice mic
In my opinion, this is a great rock solid mic. Although the signal needs a boost it still sounds good, my Behringer Mic Link is fixed that problem by adding a whopping 27dB of gain to the signal. This mic feels solidly constructed, heavy and sturdy. It also looks really nice.
Thanks
Gracias ordené mis dos PODMIC RODE y llegaron a tiempo mi primera compra oficial excelente servicio
Nice durable mic
This is a great mic. I use it in my radio broadcast. Although the signal is not that hot our loud it still sounds good. Its heavy but sturdy. Its also nice looking! I highly recommend it. And sweetwater is very helpful. They have very good sales assistants! I purchased 2 more items after this one
I LOVE THIS MIC
I've had my PodMic for about a year, and it's been rock solid. I've used it in the studio and even live. It's well-built, sounds great, and looks great, too.
To Be Heard!
I went from a high-quality condenser mic to using the Rode PodMic, and the testimonials of people saying how good the sound quality is are 10 out of 10!!
It just sounds great.
I got this mic more out of curiosity than anything else. and I was very surprised at not only the build quality of the mic itself but also with the audio quality. It just sounds great.
Amazing Upgrade
I bought two of these mics to upgrade the quality of our podcast. They are super clear and rich in sound.
Great microphone
I'm using this microphone for my piano lessons using Zoom. I have this plugged into my audio interface. This is great because with headphones I can create separate mixes for my teacher and myself. The audio quality is outstanding!
Great value for the money
I couldn't believe how solid this mic feels. It's like a giant paper weight of solid construction. That aside, the performance was what I was after for podcasts and it hasn't disappointed.

Great podcast mic love it for the money
Real budget alternative to Sm7b
I've used my Podmic for over a year and have loved it. The integrated pop filter still leaves the mic a bit raw and vulnerable compared to the Sm7b design. But as far as overall tone? The Podmic gives a very pleasant response that makes you wanna keep talking. Paired with a cloudlifter it gets even better. Yes, an sm7b has 4x as many features and can be used in 4x more applications, but it's 4x more expensive. Podmic goes toe-to-toe with an Sm7b on controlled speaking applications! Pro tip: sweetwater sells a Telefunken angled XLR cable that really cleans up the look and helps a ton with cable management!
Everything I hoped for and then some!
If you're looking for your next mic for your podcast without breaking the bank, your search starts here. If you're looking for a microphone to record vocals for any type of music while also keeping budget in mind, this is the one. Stop looking, this is it, you found it. I couldn't be happier with the build quality, sound, or packaging. I waited a week or 2 before my review to really see if I liked it as much as I though and I do. Its everything I hoped for and more.
Pod-tastic!!
I've been using the Rode Procaster mic with my Rodecaster for a Podcast that I'm doing and totally love it. But, I needed to get a few more mics for in person guests, so I decided to go with the Podmic after doing some research. Such a well built mic for $, a real tank, and sounds surprisingly good. So, I bought 2 of them since the price point was so low. I would highly suggest you buy the Rode WS2 windshield because it makes a world of difference with plosives. All in all, an amazing value for the cost, so I will probably buy another so I can cover all four inputs of my Rodecaster if needed. I highly recommend the Podmic.
GREAT MIC
Using it my studio for vocals and insturments. it works very well for where I've used it. well made heavy mic.
Great for a budget and good to have in your kit
The Rode PodMic is an amazing microphone for podcasting and general vocal work. I've personally used it on my podcast and it has never failed me. If you're looking for a great budget microphone for streaming, voiceover, or just general chatting online, go with this one. Its reliable and rugged and works for every application I've needed it for. An extra shoutout to Sweetwater's amazing customer service, they were incredibly friendly and helpful!
Really good xlr microphone that don't cost a arm and a leg
Have been using the Rode Podmic for a few weeks now and have been loving it.
Works perfect
The sound is exceptional
Very Nice!
Clear detailed recording. Slightly mid ranged but not over bearing. Fits well for all 'Spoken Voice' work. For this price it's well worth the money.
Perfect Mics
These mics were absolutely perfect to upgrade our podcast. No more picking up outrageous background sounds, or having to tune audio every time. Plug and play mics.
Great Product, even better service
A great microphone
I've tried many different microphones for podcasting and voiceover work. For $, you can't get better than this. I actually chose this over my SM7B. While there are nicer, more expensive mics out there that are great, both dynamic and condenser, this one is just solid. Sounds good and well built.
I recommend getting an inline booster with it, so I'll be trying out the Klark Teknik next, as I personally have I hard time dropping $ on a Cloudlifter for a $ mic. But an inline booster is pretty much a must with a microphone like this, unless your preamp provides tons of headroom.
Can't say enough good things about this mic.
First Rode mic for our studio
We got this for a new service we are offering of both Podcast and audible book recording. It has the perfect sound for both uses and is built like a tank. It will be well used here at Nothing But You Multimedia. Thanks again for the great service and the caring attention from our sales engineer Jon Krempel!
Super good sound and build quality for the price!
I was blown away by the use of this thing. Sounds great and clear and this thing is built like a TANK!! Will definitely last me for quite some time. If you want SM7B quality without spending a whole bunch, this is a great buy!
Not bad at all
I got this with my Rodecaster PRO, I'm loving it. It's strong. The noise gate on this mic is impressive. Not much background noise gets through, just your voice. The extension thread adapter will get caught in there you'll need some pliers to untwist to remove it, but that's very minor. I recommend getting an extra adapter just in case you lose it, particularly if you're mobile, it does happen.
Podmic
My Rode Podmic arrived with lightning speed. Superb mic with consistent output. Highly recommended!
absolutely amazing audio clarity and with a little tweaking it can sound better than a Shure SM7B
The best audio quality for the price out there by a mile, I upgraded from a blue yeti, and although this Mic is cheaper than the yeti it still sounds 100 times better. the one complaint I have for this product is that its a very quiet mic, and I have to crank the gain on my mixer almost all the way up and then you start to have background noise and that is a problem I wanted to erase when I bought this mic.
Not doing Podcasts, but close
I put this mic to use in my ham radio SSB system. Today's SSB radios contain built-in EQ functions, and with just a touch of the built-in EQ like salt or pepper, this mic sounds excellent on my transmitter. Dynamic elements are less prone to interference from the RF in the station than a condenser mic also. I'm totally satisfied with the performance of the Rode PodMic.
Music Saved My Life Podcast
Thank you Jonathan A. I know it was a small purchase but you looked out for me!! After working in the music industry around 30 years I've never heard a mic (PODMIC) at this price so clear, but what's even better is to help that I got from Sweetwater I really appreciate it I am a first time buyer but I think you guys are very dull and my children love the candy thank you so much
Great for streaming
I use it for streaming and its great, way better than most usb mics in this price range. Depending on your voice you may need a pop filter, but the built in one does work really well. HEAVY make sure you get a stand that can hold the weight.
Great mic!
Got this for some streaming and video creation and it sounds great! Gage Massey was an awesome contact and was very helpful!
Not a bad mic for podcasting and video content
I will be honest, I purchased this mic for other reasons. First, I wanted to see what the hype was about. Second, working in technical support (and doing so successfully) requires that we do have multiple sources to work with in efforts to compare and contrast in efforts to help others.
I am really impressed with the construction of the mic overall. I was not blown away sonically but there are worse out there. I will say this is a very good mic at an amazing price point. I'd recommend this to someone on a budget and also to those looking to generate some buzz and add some "appeal" to their online-visual presence as this is quite a popular model at the present time.
Outstanding
The quality of construction coupled with a full rich clean sound.
Every bit as good as the Shure SM7B
You can't ask for much more from a broadcast microphone.
Great sounding Mic for $99
My wife and I do a weekly podcast. I use a Shure SM7 that I've had forever. I needed to get her a mic but didn't want to pay for another SM7, so I read some reviews and decided on the Rode PodMic. When I first got it from Sweetwater, I was surprised at the weight of this thing. It definitely has the look and feel of a much more expensive microphone. We use the Rodecaster Pro for our podcast, and I have to tell you, this little mic sounds FANTASTIC....on par, if not slightly better than the SM7. That might be because the mic and our board are both produced by Rode, so they might just be matched for each other. Super happy with this mic. I've not tried using it with other applications, but for podcasting, this one's a winner.
Favorite Microphones I own!
These are great microphones and are not expensive at all. Built ford tough and the sound is amazing. I own two and plan on buying two more. These in my opinion are just as good as The Shure microphone. I've owned quite a few microphones and these are the best I ever had.
Big Bang For The Buck!
I saw a lot of YouTube reviews of this mic but was somewhat still skeptical for the price. Well I'm here to say, this mic definitely delivers as advertised. A must if you are considering a Rodecaster Pro. Thank you @Rode for another quality product at an affordable price point.
BEST
The best for every thing
Excellent service
The mic got here quickly and works great. More than anything I was blown away by the customer service by Sweetwater. They called and email to make sure everything went ok and I haven't seen that kind of attention in a long time. I highly recommend this mic and this business!
My favorite mic
I host 3 podcasts and I have 7 microphones. USB and XLR. I recently bought the Rodecaster Pro and was using a few XLR mics. I thought they sounded great. That is until I bought a couple Rode mics. The difference in sound quality is amazing. This is a heavy duty mic and I couldn't be happier with the performance.
Rode Quality-I may move to Austrailia
Elegant Tank of a Mic
Solid and great looking mic with a natural voice tone. Definitely gain hungry as many quality dynamic mics are. Adding an inline preamp to my setup so I don't need to peg the gain on my Scarlett Solo.
SUCH a great upgrade for podcasting
I had a $50 USB mic for a while, so coming from that felt like night and day. I'd also add that some friends and co-hosts have the similarly (or higher priced) Yeti and I much prefer the sound profile of the PodMic. While the Yeti might give you some extra bass, it feels a little muffled overall. This isn't a Yeti review though – so I'll just say that the PodMic sounds amazing and has a nice natural profile. I love the heavy build as well :)
Pre-ordered this on Sweetwater before it came out and have been using it ever since its release and have zero complaints!
I'm looking into a better audio interface though, as it runs quiet - a great thing if you record at home and not a prepped studio room.
Loving it!
Before ordering this mic I watched all the available videos on youtube and I noticed there were big differences not only in the reviews but on the sound quality of each one of them. I've used EV RE 20's for my podcast and I'm a professional radio personality and tv host, so I have a trained ear and I knew that this mic could be great with the rodecaster pro which I own and I love! So I went on and ordered my first one and it was a match made in heaven!! Bottom line, this mic is great with the rodecaster pro. It was made for it and the pre-setting is perfect. I'm not sure about using this mic with a different mixer unless your really know how to bring the best out of this baby!!
Have fun with it!!
Protected
My microphone was in perfect condition when I opened the box, and was packaged safer then if I had bought it on amazon
Dope Mic
This is an amazing and affordable mic option for podcasting. It is a solid piece of machinery and looks great! I am happy!
Top notch!
I've always gone to my tried and true Shure SM7B. But I seen the price on these, and wanted to try it out because of all the positive feedback on them. I'm in love! Not to mention, for the price of one SM7B, I can get 4 of these. Which is my plan for podcasting when this pandemic clears over. Either way, this thing is wonderful. Highly recommend!
Great Sound
This mic had great sound and I love that it's not to big. The side nuts are al ittle loosen but not a deal breaker.
Perfect In Every Way
First of all... it's $... second.. it's worth a lot more than that. It's solid as a rock, and weights more than most microphones larger than this. Sound quality is clear with very little noise. Best used close to mouth, at a slight angle to speak into. I'm sure it can be used in many other applications besides as a podcasting mic, but it's main design for direct voicing is perfectly tune for that audio range. I will buy a few more.
great for the price
Surprised by this mic. Very quiet, very heavy and excellent voice over mic when paired up with the Rodecaster Pro.
GREAT
Great Mic.... Great Company Communication.... Great Delivery Service during a Worldwide Pandemic
Perfect Podcast Mic
This microphone is excellent for podcast professionals, with great quality plus a very affordable proceeding. I would recommend to any podcaster trying to improve sound quality on a budget.
Great Product
I needed a non-condenser mic for low background noise due to my recording environment. After doing a lot of research on various podcasting mics, I went with the Rode Podmic and I am so glad that I did, it's ruggedly durable, has great sound and isn't too large and in the way like my condenser mic was. Thank you Sweetwater. I'm one happy, satisfied customer.
very nice microphone especially in this price range
I am very satisfied with this Mic I use it with my podcast setup and the sound works well for this usage.
Pod Mic
Great Microphone! I have the Rode Procaster and now the PodMic and I can't tell any difference. Both have improved my recordings significantly. Gear isn't everything about recording successfully, but the best gear certainly does make a difference. For the price this is an excellent piece of equipment.
BEST AFFORDABLE PODCAST MIC OUT THERE!
I purchased 2 of these mics for my podcast Money N Coffee @MoneyNCoffee and these mics exceeded my expectations. They pick up voices perfectly. Plus the customer service for Sweetwater is excellent. Highly recommend this mic.
Small streamer starting sound
I ordered the mic after looking to upgrade my sound quality by upgrading to XLR, and while the learning curve for EQ and sound leveling has been slow going the mic itself is beautiful. It's sturdy and does a good job of isolating your voice. Also it attaches to most standard boom arms, as a noob in mics I was unsure so maybe I can help someone save $... by not buying the Rode Arm.
Great Microphones!!
We bought three of these microphones to use with our podcast, needless to say they were more than I expected for the price. Great sounding Microphones for a great price.
Nice microphone, RODEcaster PRO died after a few uses so it's not much good
I used this microphone ONCE with my RODEcaster PRO and the recorder died. I tried the microphone with a couple of other recording devices and it didn't sound very good. I bought a second to use with the PRO but I will be trying to return both of them.
Rode Podmic
I have 2 of these for recording a podcast. They sound great. Worth the wait to get them as they were backordered.
Surprisingly Awesome for the Price.
Full disclosure, I received this mic for free courtesy of a Rode rep. That said, free or not, I like to look at my products objectively.
And objectively, this mic kills. Nicely balanced for vocals, the internal pop filter and shock mount work spectacularly, and the noise floor is basically non-existent even with the gain on my Focusrite Scarlett preamp maxed out. It is rather gain-hungry, though (much like the SM7b it's designed to rival) so I recommend an external preamp (and preferably a compressor, too) or gain booster like a Cloud Lifter or SE Electronics Dynamite.
Podmics believe the hype
Wow. When I saw these things all over the internet I was very sceptical. Since I bought the Rodecaster Pro I felt I should get some Rode mics to pair. I'm glad I did. These are crisp dynamic mics that help with plosives and all the stuff you already know.
The long and short of it is they sound great with the Rodecaster Pro and it is just AWESOME Rode made a broadcast end address mic to bring professionalism to your podcast setup. It may take a while to get them because they are heavily sought after. But we'll worth it!
PodMic Perfect with the Rode Caster
In the year and a half I have been podcasting. I have been tinkering with recorders and mics. I settled on the rodecaster pro for my studio recordings and added two of the podmics as my everyday mics. set up is super easy and they sound greeaaattt! I do much less editing of volume changes and tone now and can focus on the speakers and the content of the piece I am editing. These value priced mics deliver big time. I could not be happier.
