Great quality product, really happy with it

Best Cable!

By Sweetwater Customer on September 12, 2023

I highly recommend this cable. I purchased four of them I use them for the effects loop chain. These cables are built like a tank yet very pliable. They capture frequencies that the cheap $20 cables do not.

Mogami Platinum 12R

By Sweetwater Customer from OH on February 16, 2022 Music Background: over 50 years of bass playing

These cables are the best I have ever used. I first bought a 6ft. cable which I still use, then the 12ft. cable. These cables are a little thicker than some, but are very pliable and easy to roll up. I use velcro ties on all my cables to keep them neat and not get damaged while stored. This is the first cable I have used that I can hear the difference in low noise compared to other brands. After nearly pulling my amp off my cabinet, due to the short length, I bought the 12ft. cable angle and straight ends. I had forgotten the short length of my 6ft. when doing sound checks. I always sit close to my speaker, being a bass player for many years with some hearing loss, but I still can hear the difference from cheaper cables. Buy once, cry once, you're there!

Makes a difference

By Curtis Mills from Walterboro, SC on October 22, 2021

I was that guy who couldn't hear the difference in cables for the most part. These are the first high end cables I've purchased and yes everything sounds crisper and clearer. I still use cheap cables at rehearsal and jam sessions but these bad boys appear for recording and paying gigs. Worth it.

Dynamic!

By David from Ky on August 24, 2021 Music Background: Hobbyist

Excellent cable, a definite step up from the gold series. It says right on the box, Warning this cable has more dynamic range than any other cable available! Gain and tone controls may need to be lowered, or adjusted accordingly. I couldn't have said it better myself. These are the best cables I've ever tried, listened to, or owned. Hands down, the most neutral and dynamic. I think that says it all.

This is a must for guitarist who do a lot of studio work and even touring musicians because it gives you clean tones without added noise even when you kick in the overdrives it just seem to give low noise and that sparkle we all crave.I have a lot of high end cables but this is my go for studio, live, or just playing at home. Thanks to Sweetwater for all great gear! Stay Safe!!!

Quieted Pedal Board, Added Clarity

By Adam White from Capitola, CA on December 16, 2020

Exceeded expectations and solved a buzzing problem. I have about 8 pedals and was getting a buzz, especially when kicking in my Cali76 stacked compressor (which is adding a little gain with my settings, thereby exaggerating the underlying issue). I tried a lot of things, didn't work. In the end, I ran this cable from the output of the pedalboard (replacing a "premium" cable from another brand that was not inexpensive) into the Fender HotRod III ML. That was it. Quiet. No hiss, buzz, no hum. Wow! No noise increases when engaging the Cali76 and the overall signal to noise ratio is surprisingly excellent. On the tone, it seems as though there is more clarity. This makes my playing experience more fluid without annoying background sounds interfering with the creative process. Highly recommended.

The best!

By Sweetwater Customer on April 9, 2020

Just the right length for practice, let's you get far enough from your amp to really hear what you're playing. Durable and flexible enough to last years of sessions. Can't imagine getting anything else. Expensive but worth it.

Big, but NOT bulky

By Dave on February 3, 2020 Music Background: Old Player

I was a bit concerned that this cable would be too heavy, stiff, bulky and put too much pressure on the guitar jack. I was wrong and pleasantly surprised with how pliable and soft the cable actually is. For my Strats, I use the angle plug end on the amp side, straight jack in the guitar. For 335 series guitars I use the straight plug end on the amp and the angle end on the guitar. Very, very high quality product, would highly recommend getting the cable with a straight and an angle plug. Great product-you get what you pay for!

Excellent Cable

Professional instrument cable for sure.

Mogami Cables

By Sweetwater Customer on June 15, 2018 Music Background: Guitarist

These cables are a " no brainer" They are the cleanest most pure signal you can get!!

wow, quality does not describe it

By Paul from N of Dallas on April 14, 2018 Music Background: heavy fusion

I had been using a nice gold jack Monster main feed for my guitars. Thought time to replace it after a couple years. Always wanted to try Mogami. Got the 12ft right angle on one end for my Les Paul's, wow, impressive. Must be almost twice as thick as my Monster but really flexible, and workmanship quality-materials beyond anything possibly exceeding this. Fantastic cable, signal transfer, looks, flexibility and just pro lvl all the way.
Well worth the bucks!

Best cables money can buy . Perfect for studio tracking of bass or guitar .

Look No Further

By MLD from Washington, D.C. on February 20, 2017

I've owned the same two Mogami Platinum cables for 7 years and have used them regularly -- as often as 5 nights a week -- without a single issue. After wasting money on cables that would short out or completely fail after a matter of a couple months, I decided to drop the cash on a single Mogami; I came back and bought a second one within 2 weeks. These are the only instrument cables I will use and I can not recommend them enough.

Mogami Platinum

By Sweetwater Customer on August 3, 2015

This cable has to be heard to be appreciated. It blows away lesser cables by a large, clearly audible margin. While certainly not cheap, in the grand scheme of things, $100 for this level of performance is a no brainer. I'm now a Mogami believer and I'll use no other.

Why buy anything but Mogami Platinum

By Keith Weidman from United States on October 15, 2014 Music Background: Hobbyist...sometime gigger

Mogami Platinum's may be a little pricey, but they are worth every penny. They produce such clear dynamic sound, you'll wonder why you ever bought any other cable. You may have to adjust your settings on your stomp boxes or amp, because these cables produce tremendous tone and clarity. BUY some MOGAMI's you won't regret it!!!

Truly Amazed!

By Edward Baker/ The Concept of Zero from Norfolk VA on March 13, 2014 Music Background: Composer/Performer

I have been playing guitar for about fifty years. I never really gave much thought to the quality of a cable until recently when I seriously started researching this and the impact they can have on what your music sounds like. I asked Matt Emick why anyone would need an $80 cable for a guitar and he patiently explained it to me in terms my simple mind could grasp. While discussing another cable he happened to mention the Mogami Platinum Guitar Series and I later researched that as well. Trusting Matt's opinion, I took the leap and shelled out $109.00 for what I thought was an extravagance. When I received the cable and connected my Taylor 214ce to my Fishman Artist amplifier, I was blown away. The silence was deafening...no noise at all, just perfectly pure tonality and the enjoyment factor; the sole reason I get up at 6:00 am or earlier everyday to practice, was the greatest it has ever been. Do not think twice about what this cable can do for your sound. A chain is truly only as strong as it's weakest link and I was amazed. Thank you Matt!

I bought the mogami Platinum ts about 3 weeks ago purchase the 90-degree megami Platinum because it is the best cord I have ever used in 30 plus years of playing guitar it is totally transparent and gives you a guitar more power and more clarity as I was watching some online videos I saw some of the professional and semi-professional guys using it this is the perfect chord wish they made it with both straight ends without the kill switch but lifetime guarantees makeup for that you can't go wrong with this one you get what you pay for!

Glad I went for !!!

By Kekai Chock from KAUA'I, Hawai'i on October 6, 2015 Music Background: Gigging at two different Lu'au shows five nights a week. lead guitar, 5 st. Bass, 'ukulele, Polynesian drums. Have played from Tenth grade high

Well built, solid jacks, researched comments, Sweetwater product presentations, glad I took a chance..this cable gives me more signal, dynamics are clean ....well built, solid!
Now I will need to outfit my guitars with the cables..expensive, but worth it.

Love it

By Sweetwater Customer on May 20, 2014

Very clear sounding. It's a tad bit bulky but I'm mostly playing in my bedroom so it's not a big deal.

Use these exclusively....

By Nicky T. on November 30, 2022

...but the insulating wrapping on the connector ends often comes completely free and crawls up the rest of the cable. I don't think any audible harm is done by this, but it's kind of funny that those are the pieces of wrapping which bear the Mogami logo! Who cares, right? But they are pretty pricey and it gets annoying that this has happened on almost every one of the many that I have bought. Whatever, nice quiet cables.

Mogami Platinum Cable

By Mongo from Arizona on November 4, 2017 Music Background: Working Musician

After nearly 50 years of playing bass I have truly found a piece of equipment that made an noticeable difference in my sound. In the past I rarely gave alot of thought to a cable. If a worked when plugged in I was good to go. I now know how much cables have changed and what a great cable can do for your bass signal. This Platinum cable has no static, buzz and the sound out of my amp is clean and clear. The price is out of reach for most entry level musicians but worth the price if music is your business!

Nice cable but needs improvement

By Sweetwater Customer on June 11, 2022

I purchased this cable to use with my Fender Tele while I play mostly sitting down. I was looking for a right angle jack so I wouldn't have the cord bending against my leg or the couch cushion. However, the plug isn't long enough to fit all the way into the recessed jack on the Tele - it falls right out! This was a huge disappointment given the price of the cable. I have a Boss straight-to-right angle cable that DOES work with the recessed jack on the Tele, so I know it's possible! I had just thought for the cost of the Mogami, they would have made the plug long enough to accommodate guitars with recessed jacks (since it's definitely possible).

I can still use the cable by either plugging the right angle end into the amp or using the right angle end in my Casino, which doesn't have the recessed jack, so I won't return it, but I wanted to let others know about this in case they're purchasing for the same type of guitar!

As far as sound quality is concerned, it sounds fantastic, and the tone from my guitars is rich, clear, and full; that being said, I don't really hear much help dampening noise, and there is still that loud sound when switching the cable between guitars (while I don't really care about this, some might, and it's advertised as preventing this sound from occurring).

Overall, a nice cable, but absolutely not worth the price in my opinion.

Platinum v gold

By Steve from Oakland NJ on January 16, 2016 Music Background: Performing fiddler

As a longtime Mogami cable user I bought the Platinum for recording and performing. The main difference is its heavy and a bit stiff. Not as bad as the Monster but close. Overall go for the gold.
