I have loved the tube screamer for years, and then I got this pedal. Where the tube screamer seems to make a good amp even better, the Pentatone declares that you don't even need an amp to sound amazing! I just put this thing into a cab sim and it is ready to rock. So many great options. Pre-boost. Post-boost. Massive EQ. Very responsive noise gate. This thing reminds me of my Mesa amp in a pedal format. It screams! You can also get a great 70s classic rock tone out of it. I'm so glad I purchased it! If you aren't familiar with EQs, then learn how they work. You won't be sorry. The tone shaping options are just amazing. Do yourself a favor. Buy this pedal!
A High Gain Wizard!
Like most guitarists, I've forever been looking for a high gain tone that immediately clicked with me. I think I finally found it. Right out of the box, it sounded awesome. Look at this thing though! The amount of options to adjust your sound is amazing. A bright switch, pre-boost, post-gain boost, a 5-band graphic EQ with corresponding knobs to control frequency, AND quite the impressive noise gate. It's endlessly tweakable. Looking for heavy with plenty of options? This is it!
