Harmonica - Low F Minor Pentatonic

For those who have wanted to get into the world of playing harmonica, but have been too intimidated to try, the PentaHarp from Hohner is a great instrument to get started on. The PentaHarp has been designed as a "play-in-the-box" harp with a straightforward tuning in the pentatonic scale, one of the most popular scales in music. With this player-friendly tuning, blow or draw any note on the PentaHarp in the key of the song you are learning or creating, and you're guaranteed to hit a good note! Hohner even added an additional note to the PentaHarp, or "blue note," so you can also add some expressive sonic color to your playing. Beginning and seasoned harp players here at Sweetwater love the playability of the PentaHarp!

I'm probably jumping the gun here...

By Kevin D. from Bourbon, IN

I'm probably jumping the gun here, as I've yet to put this to use accompanying other instruments, and that was what drew me to the PentaHarp- the notion of a "no wrong notes" harmonica that would seem to be a perfect fit for my "no music theory" approach. LOL But I've never just pulled a harp out of the box and fallen into a melody anywhere NEAR as naturally as I did with this Hohner. The feel is identical to most of their other plastic-bodied harps, and bending notes is similar to anything from their line that doesn't include "bender" in the model name. Build quality is consistent with their other harps, too, and that's a good thing in a product field that has God's plenty of toy-quality-level instruments and plain ol' duds.

A OK

By Terry C. from Deep South Texas

I'm not a real musician, but I sure am having fun with my new Pentaharp. It's my 4th (A G C and this one is low F). Patrick Weaver has been great in helping me find what I need.

Hand Made Blues

By Edward k. from Albuquerque
Music Background: 45 year harp player. CD "electric life"

The pentaharp is a fantastic addition for any jazz, blues, or rock musician that finds it difficult to bend, blow and draw on the traditional diatonic harps. Only the notes you need are here. Dont plan on playing "ole susannas" on the pentaharp because you cant. But you can turn it into a blues rendition easily.

This is the perfect harmonica for a beginning guitar player to play

By Jim H. from Carlsbad, CA
Music Background: Intermediate guitar player/beginning harmonica player

Having been a guitar player for 25+ years, I decided I wanted to start learning how to play harmonica a few months ago.
I have been having a real difficult time learning the Richter scale, let alone learning how to bend notes.
Then, along comes the PentaHarp.
Wow! This is such a great supplement to playing a regular harmonica as I do not need to bend notes in order to play the blues.
I still want to learn as much as I can about playing harmonica, but let's keep in mind that the Germans (Hohner) invented the harmonica in the 1850's to play along with German musical instruments, not guitars.
I highly recommend this and I cannot believe that no one else thought of inventing this (unless they did, and in my vast ignorance I did not know that).
Enjoy!
