Versatile Pedal That Always Sounds Good!
I can't really say enough good things about this pedal. It has been on my board for 2 years now. I'm playing mostly Fender guitars into it; A Tele with a humbucker in the neck, a Pro II Tele, and a Pro II Tele Deluxe. They all sound good. What I like most is that it's not only versatile, pulling up vintage tones, but it also pulls off modern fuzz tones as well. I play a lot of 60s and 70s rock but also a lot of 90s alt rock and this thing can do it all and sound good doing it. It's freaking gorgeous to boot!
Favorite Fuzz Pedal Ever!!
So many fuzz pedals have trouble playing nice with humbucker pickups. The Pelt loves them. My favorite setting is with the fuzz knob at 10:00 and paired with a slightly overdriven amp. Creates a glorious lead tone. And as other reviewers have said, this pedal with the Mid and Thick switches, as well as the Bloom knob, is extremely versatile. If you're looking for your first fuzz pedal, get this one. If you're shopping for your umpteenth fuzz pedal, get this one.
Humbuckers Beware, Single Coils however...
I bought The Pelt because it was purple. Thats it. 0 research and 0 thought. I'd never owned a fuzz pedal and I was pleasantly impressed with other Fender Pedals so I just bought it out of impulse.
Playing The Pelt with Humbuckers is underwhelming. It can do Velcro really well and thats about it. I couldn't get it to do anything else and the controls on the pedal didn't seem to alter the sound too much. I put it away and didn't think about it because I didn't want to sell it.
Eventually I finally purchased my first Fender Stratocaster. The Fuzz Pedal that worked well with my humbuckers did not work well with my Stratocaster so I dug up The Pelt and was very pleased with the sounds. Bloom allows you to get crazy or mild, Mids dip-switch lets you sculpt exactly where in the mix you want to be, Fuzz is always at the maximum and it gets real fuzzy and gnarly.
Funky Sounds
I really like the different sounds I can get out of this thing. The mid and thick switches are a nice touch as well.

This pedal has the sound i really like.I would recommend it to anyone who likes fuzz.
