Despite the claim, these are not new from Planet Waves.The design was slightly different,but essentially the same concept. I've had two over the years(only paid for one). The previous version worked as advertised but only one problem: the switch would go bad eventually. At the time this was not an issue, as they had a lifetime warranty and when my first one went,it was cheerfully replaced. However,when the second one died,they were discontinued and that was it. As long as the cable still has the lifetime warranty,I wouldn't hesitate to purchase, because having an off switch at your fingertips is pretty darn convenient.
