Great all-in-one traveler guitar!
This is everything I was hoping for and more. The acoustic feature using the Stethophone is my favorite aspect of this instrument. The sound is amazing! It literally sounds like a full-body grand auditorium model. Everyone I have listen to it loves the sound. When they find out it also has the piezo pickup under the bridge, and the single coil for electric, they literally freak out. The pickups both sound amazing. The ability to blend the single-coil and piezo together in just about any ratio is a game changer. It is almost like playing an acoustic and electric in perfect unison. The action is great, after Sweetwater set it up. They always do my set ups, and they have always been spot on! As always Bob Mondok was a superstar with the customer service. I have had this guitar for over 3 years and still love it as much as the day I got it!
Needs work on arrival.
I bought one of these new.
The Cons:
-Will require fret filing (likely stainless steel frets) x 2 hrs-every fret.
-You will sand the saddle extensively to make the guitar playable.
-The fretboard is dyed and the dye wears off over the course of a few months.
-The body is dyed-it too wears off.
-Its made in China, where nothing is ever as advertised.
-Wish the bottom support arm wa longer and deeper for greater seated stability.
The Pros:
-The truss rod is very functional.
-Brass barrels at point of high use; large brass knurled bolts-nice touch.
-Cool adjustable diaphragm (for stethoscope listening)-sounds surprisingly natural and very clean.
-Quality tuners, that despite a year of regular use, continue to work well.
Becaus eof the short arm, I bought a yamaha SL G 200S for a more guitar-like feel. Surprisingly, despite its $... price tag, it too needs work ona rrival.
