Really good!

By Sweetwater Customer on April 10, 2024 Music Background: Hard Rock

This is my third Jackson and after changing the strings and re-tweaking to a slightly lower action this guitar is amazing. The finish is perfect and the EMG's are great as this was my first guitar with active pick ups and the reason I bought this guitar. Trust me, buy this guitar, you will not be disappointed unless you play easy rock then this may not the be one for you. If I had to say something that might be an issue for some guitarist would be a slight neck dive similar to an SG. The included strap lock system also works well. I would definitely recommend this guitar and the price I paid, I consider it a steal and sonically comparable to my RR-1.

Grant Vitek is the best!!!

This is a great playing guitar. The tone and low action is perfect. Ask for Grant Vitek. He recommended this one and again it's perfect. You can't go wrong if you say Grant Vitek for his recommendations!!!!!

Simply Amazing

By Kurt Vlad from IL on October 31, 2021 Music Background: Bedroom guitarist

I purchased this guitar because I only had a Jackson King V KVX, and floyds are an issue, let me tell you.
This guitar is an amazing machine, it handles anything from extremely clean jazz, all the way to HM-2 activated Swedish death metal.
I wanted this guitar to play Dethklok / Brendon Small Riffs, and the emg's in this guitar work extremely well in C standard tuning.
Not to mention, the paint job is immaculate.
Only issue I found with this guitar is the horn coming out from under the guitar. It's advertised to be extremely helpful for 24 fret access, but because of the way it's angled, it's extremely awkward to reach the 24th fret on any of the 6 strings.

TL;DR: Killer guitar, buy it

Way Better Than I Expected

By Sweetwater Customer on May 19, 2021 Music Background: Professional musician

I expected a decent guitar. For $ and a spin-off of the Gibson Explorer, I knew it would rock due to the mahogany body and EMG 81. Man, let me tell you , this thing is AWESOME. Immediately ripping up and down the neck. Aesthetically, it's gorgeous. Black binding up the fingerboard. The black headstock bordered in gloss white... Looks KILLER. Fret work is just amazing as always with Jackson. Now let's talk tone... Holy hell. This guitar just sounds brutal. Wicked sustain. It growls. Of you want a metal guitar that shakes the floor (literally) those is it. I watched a demo on YouTube about the Demmo. The guy said it shook his floor. Now I get it. It's just brutal and aggressive. The one and only gripe I have with it is that it's hard to get to the highest frets because of the bottom wing. But hey, its perfect otherwise. The Demmelition Fury is immediately one of my favorite and go-to guitars. I have 17 axes, and this is easily the best bang for the buck out of all of them. I just can't say enough.

Exceeds all expectations

By Greg Emery from Wasilla, Alaska on June 13, 2020 Music Background: recreational guitarist

After a quick tuning I was playing in minutes. First off a note that I hadn't seen is that the neck is bound in black. It makes a smooth transition to the black on the front of the headstock. The cutaway on the body forms nicely around your stomach or leg and combined with the strap location the guitar sits perfectly with no dive or roll. The fret work and finish are very nice, the electronics save for the pickups are good with minimal play in the knobs and toggle switch. The best feature of this guitar is the incredible sound and sustain. Likely a result of the mahogany body and neck through design. This will unquestionably be my favorite guitar moving forward.

Metal all the way!

By Richard Little from Wheeling, IL on May 18, 2020 Music Background: Metal Shredder, long time player!

This is one sweet axe! It plays incredibly well and is a lean mean metal machine! Classic white with black pick guard. It has a super nice bevel for elbow ease and it is very comfortable. The EMG pickups rock and sound the way a metal guitar should sound. The Sweetwater team as always made the purchase even more enjoyable with their outstanding customer service and super fast shipping. If you want a guitar that is metal all the way don't hesitate to make this purchase! My sales rep Mitch is one of the best at Sweetwater and always takes good care of his clients! Rock on and get yours before they are all gone! Thanks Phil for putting this out there for the fans!

Straight Up Rock Guitar!

By Brian from Butler, Pa on July 27, 2022 Music Background: Playing for Decades!

Great set up out of the box. EMG pick ups are in your face as expected! I have no trouble reaching all of the frets. The only reason I give it 4 1/2 stars is your right forearm is the only thing holding the guitar from rolling forward. Awesome and affordable!

Not bad

By Sweetwater Customer on September 13, 2022

Not as impressive as I expected, but it rocks pretty hard. Sustain is above average, neck is very slick as expected from Jackson. Was excited to get this guitar but not really as thrilled once I played it. Not saying is sucks by any means, but I have a Jackson Dinky and its pretty comparable. The active pickups kick in some juice.

pros and cons of this Jackson pro series

By Sweetwater Customer on November 6, 2020

This is subjective, as all reviews are, so take this with a grain of salt. I found the guitar to be poorly balanced, it is a neck diver, and heavy (longer scale length and body shape didn't fit me). I also found the high frets to be difficult to access even though the shape wouldn't suggest this. The pickups, although a staple in metal, were too powerful for me - I couldn't keep them under control and had a lot of extra noise with distortion. Other than that, the guitar is awesome - just didn't suit me.
I traded this guitar in for a Scott Ian KVXT and I am much happier with this as it fits me and my rig better.
