This thing is what you need, but you need to keep any preamps or other processesing in a separate rack. The electromagnetic field gets picked up by the transformers in the other gear. Dont drive yourself crazy. Buy another rack.

This is just a basic conditioner that has a couple of pullout super simple LED lights on the front where there is only 1 power outlet. The remainder are on the back of the unit with no built in lighting. The entire front face includes a power switch, some small indicator lights showing (green)function ok/(red)extreme voltage, 2 round pop/slide out led lights plus a dimmer switch for the lights and one 3-pin power outlet, then in the middle is a giant waste of blank facing I'm estimating to be 7" long. I'm sure there is a perfectly good reason for this " unused" space, but seems to me that it would have been easily done to place at least 2 solid, reliable USB out charging ports on the front for your phone or other devices that may require a USB connection and while your at it, throw one or two USB type C connections on there too. I just feel like those things are so very simple compared to all the other technology put into this thing to solve power surge issues and electrical hum and ground floor level noise attenuation and such, that they overlooked the simple, basic things that would have made users super thankful and made their day when faced with a dying phone or a USB light or fan. This is all so simple and a huge waste to dedicate one of the few power outlets to. Just not very well thought out for the price. Works fine otherwise. I don't notice any difference in my recording quality or my mix noise levels being any different. So, ehh. It's just okay for me.

This thing has saved my life with my setup. Yes you need it. No it's not the most expensive one but yes it gets the job done!

It reduces the noise floor. I use it with analog equipment, high gain tube guitar amplifiers, and digital interfaces. This piece of gear is critically important and does what it says.

I love the my new Furman power conditioner. It works like and it meets all current needs for a clean signal.

My band plays at wineries, festivals, and other events with dubious power. I wanted a rack-mount 1U solution for power protection of my keyboards, wireless mic, and keyboard mixer. This Furman model has some extra features that are nice, including extreme voltage shutdown and linear filtering to reduce noise. I especially like that it has non-sacrificial surge suppression and a visual indicator that it's working. With less expensive surge suppressors, you never know if the suppressor has been used up or damaged through too many surges. Beyond all that, I think it is actually working. At a recent gig, guitarists in my band had three separate electronic units fail, each one requiring a power cycle to correct. I had no problem at all with my equipment. I think their gear was hit with surges while mine was spared due to the Furman PL-8C. My sales engineer, Jeremy, helped me find the sweet spot for my needs, because you can spend a lot less or a lot more on power conditioning.

I own three of these and use them with the Furman pro power strips for the ultimate in quiet rack, amp, and pedalboard operation.

I got this based on my Sweetwater engineer's recommendation (shout out to Cody Kraus!) a few years ago and it's been awesome ever since! I recently rearranged my home office/studio and had to plug in my studio rack into an outlet that shared power with my kitchen fridge on the other side of the wall. I was hesitant to do this because everything audio-related that I would plug directly into this specific wall outlet box before would have a noticeable hiss and hum but that didn't happen with all of my rack gear going into my PL-8C first and then into the wall outlet. It truly does work when it comes to conditioning "dirty power" and I have no doubt that it'll hold up should a strong power surge happen.

What more can I say? It provides my outboard gear with power and protection from surges. I get clean energy without any impedance on audio production. The lights are practical and super cool in the dark. Highly recommended.

The Furman PL-8C is a welcome addition to my rack unit. Besides having surge protection for the equipment. The 8 extra outlets really cleans up all those wires running everywhere. Plus an extra outlet in front for convenience. The real reason I went with this model was mainly for the extra lighting. 2 pull out lights in front, have a dimmer switch which acts as the on/off control by pushing the dimmer button and turning for brightness. Not super bright but sufficient because it is always so dark in that area. Plus a bonus. There is a BNC connection in the back of the unit for another add on light (not included) to brighten the back of the rack where you need it the most. I will purchase this item again in the future.

This is multifunctional because it freed up so many wall plugs and also completely killed any humming noise or feedback I'd normally get from my monitors. I've got my oversized monitor, ys5s, genelecs, ART, etc all running to it. I honestly wish I knew this existed much sooner. Very sturdy piece.

Hi this is great!,, me and my sister have been recording a solo piano and have been experiencing lots of air in the recording. Every time I tried to adjust my mic preamp to the piano setting it whould make the piano sound wonderful but the air was so loud it wasn't really worth it. This Furman took all the noise out!! I have this and an older cheaper unit (Furman M-X8). Both units have the same amount of outlets, but love the features of this and the added led lights to see the front of my rack unit. It's nice to have the two for the extra outlets to power my PC, effects, monitors, amp and pedal board. gives a little extra piece of mind knowing there is a bit of extra safety for my equipment.

The PL-8C is a middle of the road rack mount power conditioner. Options and cost made this my choice. Easy decision for me, and the reviews were right what needed. I'm very pleased the one option I wanted was the lights being LED over Incandescent.

I am very pleased to have this item in my arsenal of devices to help protect my electronic gear against electrical surges and crazy power spikes. I actually own two of these. My most recent one purchased to protect my stage mixer and sound modules in my stage rack. I love the pull out lights in the front where there's a dimmer knob to control brightness. It provides just enough lighting to see my rack devices plus gives enough lighting where I stand at my station to be able to see in my immediate area. Many times there is no light around where I am standing on stage. My keyboard station is lit up with lights but the brightness sometimes prevents you from being able to see anything below. I've tripped over cords and other obstacles on stage. The front lights provide just enough lighting to be able to see. The front outlet is great for plugging in a charger for your phone if you need it.

Bought two and they work great. Does what it says its suppose to. Love the spacing on the two end plugs for the fatter plug. The tube lighting is dope and plus when working the dark.

I bought this on the recommendation of my sales associate Brian. It works flawlessly and does everything I need it to. I run the Furman after my UPS and have my audio interface and audio eqt plugged into the Furman. It eliminated all of the noise I was experiencing when running directly out of the UPS. Everything is dead quiet now.

Last summer my band put together a pandemic-friendly and socially distanced outdoor "boat up" show at a rustic cottage on a local lake, and because the place was built in the 40s, the power situation was sketchy. We managed to identify ONE properly installed and grounded 3 prong outlet (VERY important!) on the property on a 15 amp breaker, and plugged into that at the end of a 75 foot 12 ga. indoor / outdoor extension cord, the Furman PL-8C powered our ENTIRE rig: a Yamaha EMX212 200w power mixer with 6 mic and 2 acoustic guitar inputs, my Fender Hotrod and effects pedal chain, two small powered monitors, and a 300w bass amp. Even though we played fairly loudly in direct sunlight while standing on throw rugs on a damp lawn, this unit provided safe, clean, uninterrupted, and absolutely QUIET power. I will never leave home for another gig without it - highly recommended!

Great no-frills power conditioner, perfect for my 10U rack. The 3 widely-spaced rear outlets keep wall-wart xformers from blocking the other 5 rear outlets and the dimmable LED front lights are a welcomed advancement from hot lamps. The PL-8C doesn't have any meters or unnecessary display components, giving it a discrete appearance and a lower price (Sweetwater's price was unbeatable by far when I bought mine).

This gives nice looks in my studio. I bought 2 because I have too many connections and looks great and has a killer switch to prevent to overload power it has a total 9 outlet I do recommend this one.

This unit works as advertised. It is silent, has plenty of plug-ins and is heavily built. The added pullout LED lights are an added bonus. I have owned a Furman mixer for years and it has preformed flawlessly. I am pleased that this unit appears to live up to their reputation.

Had a loud buzz in a church due to to dimmers place right next to the sound equipment. Installed this power conditioner it eliminated the buzz from the mixer. I did not think it would work. I was surprised!

Had a bit of noise in my production studio; was not turning monitor up past half because it because to audible. Plugged it all into the firman and now I can turn it to max volume and hear virtually nothing. Makes me want to go buy the flagship regulator to see the difference. Couldn’t be much because this pl-8c is pretty much perfectly silent. Audio quality is measurably different and better

First unit that I received hummed. I figured in my treated room, I was just hearing the unit operating normally. When Nate, my Sales Engineer, followed up with me I mentioned the hum and he put a service ticket in and said that my device should not make a sound. One day later, he sent a new unit out. After 2 years of buzz noise somewhere in the PA or monitors from old wiring in old buildings driving me crazy, I bought this out of desperation. Plugged it all into this. SILENCE. First time. A no brainer to use it. If it wears out ...I buy the new version.

The most reliable protections for your valuable electronics against power spikes!

This is a solid, affordable unit that does the job - and does it well. It has two pull out lights (the "F" knobs are the lights), which can be somewhat useful if a dim light is needed in a darkened studio — I don"t personally use them, however, as I don"t utilize it in a rack situation. The real rationale for knocking a star off is that, like many similar items, you can"t utilize all of the available plug-in ports as not all fill actually fit. In other words, plugs today come in different sizes and shapes, many of them being much wider, higher, or thicker than normal, which results in some of the plugs taking up too much space and partially blocking the outlet adjacent to it, resulting in fewer usable inputs. Just be aware of that, and perhaps buy two of them. Still, a valuable product to protect your expensive equipment.

Steel construction, solid outlets and cleans up power remarkably well. The lines are handy, and the BNC connector on the back for an additional light can be a huge aid when tracking down a faulty connection in the rat's nest that is the back of my rack.

When Dylan told me about the Furman Pl-8c-15A I was really looking forward getting it, i plugged everything that I had to do with the pa system and my light system, I could not believe it, all my hum's and buss's went away, it just blow me away. Now I have a very clean system! Thank You Dylan!

I got 2 of these units as I needed them for stage power conditioning. I needed something that would handle 3 pedal boards, 2 guitar amps, bass amp and 2 laptops with a small mixer. I didn"t want Everythimg being wired back to the same source to keep it from overloading one unit and to prevent it from looking like Clark Griswold wiring. This took care of my concerns and accomplished everything. The lights on the unit are an added bonus as well. Thanks to my rep Aaron Smith, this was a no brainer!!

I bought this Furman, and absolutely love it. I have an old 32 gig PC, and it is very noisy. I plugged it into my furman, and it made my computer drop from being really loud and all over the place, to a sounding supper clean, steady and tamed. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a power conditioner, totally worth the investment (lights are a plus to).

I have had horrible cracking issues related to dirty power ever sense I"ve had these two wonderful pieces of equipment in the same room (in multiple homes and venues). They just don"t play nice together.

I"ve tried direct boxes, upgraded cabling, ground lifts, everything.

Finally, I bit the bullet and bought this power conditioner, and... the noise is gone. No crackle, no interference, nada.

No white noise and humming in the lines and I haven't even made any adjustments. This thing is great and everything is plugged into it so when I hit the switch in the front, everything is off more reaching behind the monitor and playing limbo to shut off all my gear.

I Really Needed this Furman PL-8C - 15A 9-outlet 15 Amp Power Conditioner with Pull-out Lights. This was Really Needed to Power my 2 Apollo 8p's my Apollo 16 and my SSL Signature Buss Compressor. Dependable an can Handle the POWER.

The Furman is a sturdy piece of equipment, nice build quality, solid. I haven't noticed any real improvement in sound quality but I have peace of mind not having to worry about my components being damaged.

I just got one of these and it is phenomenal. I have it racked in a Procraft 1U cabinet and it sits on top of my EVH EL34 100W head. No hiss, no hum, no interference at all and the dual lights that pull out from the front illuminates my head and Marshall Cab. A BNC connector on the back allows for a Gooseneck lamp to shine on the back of my EVH amp head. I use the Hum-X with it from my amp. I plug all my stuff into the back of it, and it makes for neat and tidiness, it has an extra long power cord too. Thanks Ed Nystrom of Sweetwater for always being there and taking care of my gigging needs. Furman are the best to protect your gear and eliminate unwanted noise. A 'must have' for any gigging musician.!

I have used this power conditioner for a few years now. I have done many venues where the power was very "iffy" and the power was known to spike, and this definitely has taken the hit time and time again, protecting my amps and my powered speakers. Definitely a big investment, and I already got the PL-Plus models, the gauge helped a lot where there was an excessive amount of power, that helped us regulate the power output.

As always Furman is a must. Protect you high dollar gear. I never turn any of my equipment on unless it's plugged into a Furman.

My Sweetwater consultant (Evan Mehre) made this recommendation for a rack that I was putting together. It has worked out brilliantly! Power distribution, conditioning AND pull-out lights -- Could not be happier. Lights are able to be dimmed and they can be manually oscillated about 90 degrees.

Purchased this to try to clean up some dirty electric at one of our outside venues. It helped some but we still had some hum in the pa. There is an awful lot of neon lights at this venue,so my expectations may have been too high. Having all the extra outlets was certainly a huge advantage.

Patrick Dennis has been the best of help. I started a studio in my basement. Called Sweetwater and got a hold of Patrick. He has been a great help in this process. I told him what I was looking to do and how much I would like to spend and he guided me threw it. I will buy all my equipment threw Sweetwater from here on out.

I've used Furman power products before, so I was inclined to look in this direction in the first place. I was looking for a good balance between performance and cost, and I was prepared to spend this kind of money to protect my gear (Yamaha, Hammond, NI keys, MacBook Pro, Glyph Studio HD, Behringer XR 16 X Air mixer). I don't run my JBL EON speakers through it in the studio, but I do when I am traveling for gigs. I expected great protection, but I've been delighted by how QUIET the whole system is, running all the power through this unit, studio or gigs. NO discernable AC hum or hiss. Cool!! Highly recommended.

I purchased this on the advice of the Sweetwater team to eliminate line and AC power noise in my amps and it worked like a charm. My two main tube amps are now dead quiet (aside from noise from single coils, which requires a noise gate to eliminate). Also great to have all my amps, pedal board, etc. plugged into the Furman so everything can be turned on and off with the flip of one switch. A very modest investment to not only protect my gear but improve the tone. Thanks, Sweetwater!

I have a few of these and use them with my recording, TV, computer, and Stereo/HiFi gear. I get no hum, hiss, or pops, and that means reliably quiet power, with the additional protection against power surges. If you have an older home or studio, or older amplifiers that typically pick up noise and radio signals, you should try one of these. I have an old Peavey Bandit amp that would previously pick up radio signals and hum when plugged directly into wall outlets, but it is dead quiet when plugged into the Furman. I have to recommend these "power conditioners" for stereo equipment as well, turntables and power amps in particular, as RFI and line noise can really degrade performance, especially in older, less expensive equipment. Personally, I think all new homes should have massive power conditioners/voltage regulators built into them, but these portable devices serve the purpose. Note that these units are not voltage regulators, meaning they don't keep voltage at a consistent level. However, they prevent damaging surges, as may happen when your power goes out unexpectedly and then comes back on. You can buy voltage regulating units, but those are considerably more expensive. If you simply want QUIET power and surge protection, the PL-8C will do the job.

I've been battling sound system hums, in an older building prone to power outages and brownouts. Added two of these and no more hum in FOH. Also good to know we have protection for the next surge or brownout.

I hope it protects from overload as advertised I was hoping it would stop pops and noise from air conditioner units and other compressors and motors in a house. No hum so I guess it does that maybe

A very important piece of equipment. I bought one to protect my new board at my home studio because the power at my place is so noisy. Made a big difference.

unfortunately, power conditioners are the most ignored component in a musicians gear set. prime example me. i have been playing for decades and have just become wise enough to purchase one. my 100 year old house still has 100 amp service and very dirty fluctuating power. my first attempt was a boss noise gate. worked really well but still, i was getting some noise. i put this baby in and WOW. cleaned up the noise what a difference it made in my tone. my amp never sounded so good. of course i now realize that it was never performing at its full capabilities as it wasn't getting the proper voltage. the protection this thing gives is a no brainier, but it allows equipment to perform to its full capabilities. I am running several amps, home theater system, 50" rear projection LCD tv, and all of my computer equipment off of this which loads it at about 80%. Better sound, full protection without being self compromised. Just buy it !! you wont believe the difference it will make in your tone. Also, Sweetwater will match or beat the competitors prices. Where else can you call at 5:00 pm, place an order, and have it on your front porch the next day !!!!! ONLY AT SWEETWATER !! They ARE the BEST in the business. Thanks AJ,

Having a power conditioner in my rack case simplifies my setup, protects my gear and provides handy lighting options. I definitely recommend purchasing a rear lamp for this unit, it has proved useful to me on many occasions.

I'm not sure how much protection you give up by using this budget Furman unit over their much more expensive big brothers but this has to be 10x better than a cheapo power bar and it looks great in the rack.

Happy with quality of unit and design. The light features are very nice, as well as easy to use front control. The rear optional lighting is great feature for working with power and cables in a rack case.

The extra socket space for the wall warts are a cool feature. Seems to be a rugged well built unit.

I am starting to build up a collection of rack units. This neatens up the power cables and lets one switch turn everything on at once. I'm not sure how to evaluate the 'Power Conditioner' effects. The lamps are a nice bonus and have a dimmer. Very nice appearance.

I was interested in getting consistent, quiet and clean power to my interface and monitors. The only name that comes to mind Furman. They are at the top of the pile for power conditioners. Something like this should go in your rack and be invisible. That is exactly what Furman gives you, quality power all the time that you don't have to worry about.

The PL-8C took out all the hum and buzz that you get from lights and other interference sources. Now I get the true deeper warm sound.

This arrived yesterday after I'd finished with studio work for the day. So, to run it in a bit, I hooked it up in place of the power conditioner I use for our home theatre system. The improvment in color density and vividness, just on regular cable TV, was obvious to both of us. We then tried it out on an episode of Game of Thrones. The sound had an enhanced clarity and, yet, was rounder and fuller at the same time: more sheen on the highs, more body on the mids, wonderful tightness in the bass. An excellent purchase. We'll be getting another one of these soon.

I didn't expect much from this unit as it is what I consider mid-line price.
But it has made a significant change to my rack. While I did not have a
problem with line noise before this actually has allowed me to crank up the gain to an optimal level with no noise floor being present. The workmanship is not quite what I'd like, as the front jack is a bit crooked,
but the rest of the unit is solid. I was using another brand of conditioner before and this was a big improvement.
