Precision Bass Power with a Jazz Bass Neck

Fender's Precision Bass and Jazz Bass are two of the most-played basses in the world, and you get the best of both in the limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass. A pair of P/J Bass pickups delivers a huge sonic range: get the powerful thump with the split P Bass pickup, and dial in growling mids with the J pickup at the bridge. The graphite-reinforced maple neck features a thinner Jazz Bass-style neck, which feels much faster than traditional Precision Bass necks. With a separate volume control for each pickup plus a master tone control, the Fender limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass is appropriate for any musical style.

Fender Limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass 4-string Electric Bass at a Glance:
  • These Custom Shop pickups cover every iconic bass tone
  • Jazz Bass neck plays fast and smooth
  • High Mass Vintage bridge with two stringing options
These Custom Shop pickups cover every iconic bass tone

Between their Precision Bass and Jazz Bass models, Fender was one of the heaviest influences on the sound of electric bass in rock, blues, and jazz. Some chose the P Bass for its undeniable power, punch, and low-end impact. Others chose the J Bass for its enhanced midrange growl, which occupies a different place in the mix than the P Bass. This limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass packs both pickups: a Custom Shop P Bass split single-coil, plus a Custom Shop J Bass single-coil pickup at the bridge. A separate volume control for each allows you to blend them together to fine-tune your tone for any song.

Jazz Bass neck plays fast and smooth

Along with substantial tone, the Precision Bass is known for having a substantial neck, especially compared to the Jazz Bass. For this limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass, Fender chose their Modern C profile, which is thinner and plays faster than a typical Precision Bass neck. And this maple neck is reinforced with graphite for long-term reliability and stability.

High Mass Vintage bridge with two stringing options

Your bass tone is heavily influenced by the instrument's bridge. This limited-edition Fender American Standard Precision Bass packs Fender's High Mass Vintage bridge, and its enhanced mass allows deeper fundamental resonance and vibrational transfer. It also offers two stringing options based on your preference: you can top load the strings or run them through the body from the back.

Fender Limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass 4-string Electric Bass Features:
  • Standard Precision Bass with P/J pickups
  • Custom Shop pickups deliver huge tone
  • Modern C neck profile is thinner and faster than traditional P Bass necks
  • Knurled volume and tone knobs for better control
  • Part of Fender's "Magnificent 7": seven limited-edition instruments for 2016
Combine the best of the P Bass and J Bass, and you get the Fender limited-edition American Standard Precision Bass.
