Awesome sensitive box that punches way above its weight. Nice articulation, clear not muddy. Cranked up, it drives enough volume to annoy apartment dwellers nearby. Beautiful, sonically pleasing cleans. I also appreciate the engineers that realized it would add zero cost to also make it a Bluetooth speaker. So they did. Nice. If Positive Grid had asked me ahead of time (prolly didn't have my number) I'd have suggested that they label the presets with numbers instead of names. I think it would be easier to keep track of numbered presets since my modifications don't always fit into the current categories. (You're welcome PositGrid. You can send my artist signature model any time. No rush!)

It's perfect because you can literally audition thousands of tone and amp/pedal combo and decide which one works best for your needs and expectations. There are also an seemingly infinite number of saved presets and an AI option that can quickly generate options to address your your tone requests. I've found it more helpful for tone-finding than any of my many amp sim plugins. It may not be what you want for live playing--yet--but excellent for practice and especially for tone exploration.

This amp definitely punches above its weight. I live in an apartment, and this amp is perfect for rocking out without disturbing the neighbors. I can also get any type of tone and effect I want through the app without a pedal board taking up extra space.

This Spark Mini 10-watt lives in my living room now. It is perfect for anytime I want to play guitar. Great tones, powerful app, a tuner... and it's even an interface to my desktop. USB-C charging and the charge lasts my many hours. The little footprint was a selling point for me, but the versatility and great tones were a pleasant surprise... Great Product

Every once and awhile a product comes along that delivers what it promises. I was looking for a practice amp solution. I tried amplitube on my iPhone and it was too cumbersome with all the cables plus I don't like playing with headphones. The spark mini sits on my end table next to my recliner. It's got a classic look that fits in the room. The app works great and gives you just enough without being over complicated. The mini sounds great. I can dial in jazz tones or rock tones. It handles backing tracks flawlessly with independent volume controls. As with any product, don't expect more than what it claims to be.

Reason #1 - Ads. This is as much a marketing tool as it is a musical one. I just want to play my guitar, guys.
Reason #2 - It's LOADED with features. Features you can't use. Why? Locked stuff that takes up space on your list but unless you shell out more $$$, it's no go for you.
Reason #3 - You can't delete what you don't want or need. What? Yep. I don't want this built in preset (see the pictures) because I can't use it... ok, I'll just delete it. Sorry, no can do.
I seriously wish I had gone with Yamaha for my desktop amp solution. Had I done that, I would be playing guitar right now instead of leaving a salty 1 star review.
There are a dozen reasons why I don't like this amp, and plenty of things about this amp that I really do like, including the size, the sound, the battery life... but, the app is garbage and the app is at the center of this platform. It's poorly thought out and organized, it's geared towards marketing not towards music, and ultimately it left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Spark as a company. I have had occasion to talk to their support staff before and they were wonderful BUT, I would not buy this product again and I wouldn't buy from the company that made it. Just my opinion.
I will say this, Spark has done their homework well on current consumer trends but not as well on what actual musicians want.

When I bought this I wanted something that wasn't a full pedal board and amp rig. Something that I could take anywhere that had a good sound. This is that. What this also is, is an app. When I want to jam, I just want to jam, I don't want an app, and logins, and email addresses. This is all of those things.
I want to play guitar not spend 15 minutes playing the password recovery game, or trying to find my patch in a sea of crap I have no interest in. I also don't like having to scroll past "locked" features to get where I want to go. Listen, I admire the heck out of Jimi Hendrix but I am not buying his expansion pack today or ever, so let me hide that stuff. I HATE ads and this whole app feels like one.
The sound is decent, and it is a great format. This has the potential to be so good but between the locked features, your stuff getting hidden under stuff they want to sell you... I dunno. I don't think I would buy this again.

This little guy is big for his size. It is great for practicing. The sound is very clean. I am still learning about all the features via the app.

I bought the first Spark 40 Watt a couple of years ago, and ive come to really love it. This smaller device is perfect for practicing though, as it charges so conveniently like a phone, and you can take it anywhere.
I play bass guitar, and while i think this is more suited for guitar, i get great sound from it, i play in the porch of my house and my neighbor across the street can listen to it (woops, sorry)
The app is the same as all the Spark family, so you can expect the same variety and experimentation you have at your disposal with other devices

My only issue is it doesnt have a headphone jack.

You are not going to be playing at a bar with this, however, for a reunion with friends, or practicing in different areas of your house, its very convenient. I ended up using this more than my 40 watt

Very impressed with this little guy. Sounds like a much bigger and more expensive amp than it looks. The sound customization options through the app is so cool (soooo many options, has really helped me out with knowing what pedals to buy). And the cherry on top is it's a badass little portable speaker with a great battery life. Don't use any other speaker anymore.

Great little practice Amp. Easy to connect to phone or tablet using the app. Many tone options with the countless effect pedals. It's also portable with fairly long battery life. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I intended to use this for practice, as designed and advertised. Super light and convenient. The caveat that made me send it back is, it's just not that loud. I dimed out all the settings and it was still quiet. I know that may be the idea, but I want the option to turn it up more, so I exchanged for the PG Spark 2.

I have been playing the Positive Grid Spark Mini for a few months now and I have very positive things to say about it. The best thing about it is I can easily carry this unit to practice with my friends. It is small enough to be transportable and yet it provides enough volume to have a decent practice session.
Its biggest asset is its ability to provide a great variety of tones. This feature allows someone like me to experiment with many different types of tones and accommodate various styles of music. This enhances my creativity during jam sessions to come up with new ideas.
Best of all, it has been a great tool for me to grow as an artist. I do not intend to use it for a big stage performance, as it is not intended for that purpose. But the value it has provided me far exceeded its price.

I bought this because a bud of mine had one and I was intrigued. When they went on sale, it sealed the deal, and I couldn't be happier I pulled the trigger on it. I already had a nice enough rig for recording, playing out, etc., but I wanted something for general noodling around and practicing without all the hassle of dragging out my combo and the footswitches and all. With this little box, I can get a vast array of usable tones at a decent volume and the stereo headphone out can be setup as a stereo or mono line out if you want to slap it in front of a power amp or powered FRFR cabinet. The three knob/Bluetooth interface controls are below rocket-surgery simple to use and really makes the whole package a breeze. And that's just the amplifier. The BT Spark app is where the magic of the whole thing happens, as you get essentially the Bias plug-in amp package with all the amps, cabs, and FX at your fingertips, plus several THOUSANDS of available user-built tones to download for free. Then there's the integrated music player that lets you play along to essentially any audio source, PLUS AI generated jams and pre-loaded backing tracks. There's also an on-board tuner and some other stuff I haven't even looked at yet. Long story short: BUY ONE!!! or the smaller brother the Go. I only slipped a star because NOTHING is perfect ;)

I was really surprised how full the sound is given the size of this thing, from someone that mainly only used tube amps this thing is very impressive

maybe i am just too old for this method but it shouldn't take minutes to figure out how to turn down the reverb and hours to get it to work as a bluetooth speaker which it never did. the app interface is not user friendly nor is it intuitive and there is no help from the company and going on line with the various youtube videos has not been fruitful.

This little guy has completely taken over as my practice amp of choice. I carry it all over the house and plug in whenever I want to play for a bit. Just got back from a short road trip with the family and I brought it with as something to play in the hotel when I had some down time. It was perfect. Just the right volume to not annoy everyone and still let me play along with whatever I wanted. Shout out to my sales engineer Darius for helping me make the right decision on this one!

I wanted something for guitar lessons that wasn't large and didn't require an outlet. The 8 hr battery works great. This is 2x the water of the spark Go. Great volume, and clarity plus a nice Bluetooth speaker. I think the 40 watt is great, but this has the portability and rechargeable battery the 40 watt doesn't and more substance than the Go 5 watt. It's the sweet spot.

Updating the firmware to get newest features was straight forward.

Nice variety of amps to pick from with the phone app, easy to sync. You can adjust all the amp settings and pedal settings. I shut off the noise gate and delay on most my settings and save it for future. Within 20
Min of messing with settings I had some great rock and alternative sounds. I also turned on compensators and leveled up volume on individual amps. Allows for nice tone and volume.

I have been having a blast playing this amazing little amp with big sound and plenty of features!

Great little take along amp with usable features like the bluetooth audio for streaming and playing along with. And, it's pretty loud.

Great practice amp, and the Spark software make for endless possibilities of tones, and backing tracks. The tuner is excellent, and a built in metronome.

Works well. Many features to play with. Long battery life. Sounds great for such a small package. Very good value. Easy to set up and great customer service via SWEETWATER and Positive Grid.

I love this little amp. It is perfect for traveling because it is so small. It fits in my carry-on or suitcase, and it sounds great. The app is very easy to use and has several features that I use often. The only issue I have with the Spark Mini is it does not come with a case. Other than that, this is one of my favorite small amps.

The Spark Mini makes alot of sounds- none of them are authentic. I experimented for a couple weeks with this "toy" before giving up. No manner of manipulation would allow me to produce a realistic or even sorta, kinda realistic amp. None. Clean amps or dirty amps sound artificial. Because they are. Heavily distorted and processed amps sound toy like- reminds me of giving a 13 year old a pedal board and turning them loose. Everything is overdone, noticeably heavily processed and weird and artificial sounding. It's brittle and jarring- like AI art.

So the bottom line is no I would not recommend this device and I consider my purchase a waste of money.

This little amp is great! Not only does it sound way better than anything this small should, but the app has a ton of sounds and features and it's easy to use. The portability and usb charging are a plus and the battery lasts quite a while off a single charge. The only thing it's missing is a looper.

Three words - It does not sound good.... More specifically the speaker is substandard because both the music being streamed and the guitar plugged in both sound very tinny, small and cheap. It's almost shrill tone wise and that makes this little amp disappointing.

What it does have going for it is the concept is great to have the portability and the small form factor. Bluetooth works well with easy connectivity and battery life is excellent but no wonder very little of it is going to bass.

Lastly I try to be very honest in my reviews and even reasonable. When I consider my contention that the speaker is cheap and substandard my home is filled with Google NEST smart speakers that are the same size and hands above the Spark for fidelity and frequency response.

So please Spark replace the speakers $ is enough for you and resellers that you need not use a substandard speaker.

Amazing sound out of a little practice amp.

I bought this specifically for hotel room use while traveling. It serves that purpose extremely well. Effects sound good, and the ability to play backing tracks through the amp is nice.

I'm really liking this amp. I love that you can bluetooth backing track straight to the amp to play along and adjust the volume separately.

Bought this because we needed a second amp for a house of aspiring guitarists. Did a lot of research on the best little amps out there. Came down to either the fly 3 or the positive spark mini. Just loved the tone and the options that this little thing offers. The app has a huge selection of amp sounds like my son's Marshall Code25. So nice to be cordless from the wall where you can go anywhere in the house easily to practice. It's been used a lot since Christmas (13 days ago) and I haven't recharged it yet. I'm glad I decided on this one. And as always I had a great sales experience with Sweetwater. Personal sales and speedy delivery.

I can't believe the sound of this little amp. With the application the sounds you get are endless. For my use, it is loud and the headphone jack allows me to crank it up at night and not hear my wife yelling to turn that down.

I hooked it up with my Fishman ToneDEQ and it sounds great with my Yamaha NZtX3.

A while back I took the plunge into bias fx and never looked back.

But… sometimes you just want to plug into an amp and noodle without the fuss of a computer and interface. That's why I got this.

This amp is plenty loud for jamming at home. Doubles as a Bluetooth speaker. And is battery powered man!

Does it have the same caliber of sound I can pull from bias fx or a helix? Heck no!

But it sounds great and is now my go to anytime I play electric at home. I look at this amp as an amazing practice tool that I could always play live if needed. It really is an amazing value for players of every skill level and genre.

I have several larger amps but have always used my trusted 15+ year old Micro Cube for jamming / practicing in the living room, camping etc... This is such a HUGE improvement on sound and it is just as loud if not louder. A couple concerns I had about this little unit before I bought it... Is it loud enough? 100% yes. Can you adjust the effects? Yes and you can get long trippy delays and extremely spacey reverbs from the pedals that come with the app. I rarely post reviews, but this amp has exceeded all expectations. It also sounds fantastic with an acoustic guitar. Get a wireless receiver and you have a completely cord free mobile set up. 100% recommend this little amp if you are looking for a home / camping / patio / backyard amp. You will love it.

It seems widely reported that the Spark Mini outputs a gated hiss that abruptly opens every time the input signal crosses a fixed level and then cuts out just as harshly a short delay after the input signal level decreases past roughly the same threshold. This occurs even with all effects, amp modeling, and the internal gate disabled, and Positive Grid responses to email requests for support have indicated they do not plan to fix this issue (perhaps it is a hardware design issue rather than one that can be resolved with updated firmware). The sharp start/stop of the hiss is also output through the headphone/line output - I have not yet tested the USB audio functionality to see if it is there as well. Thankfully, the hiss isn't as noticeable in environments with a typical amount of ambient noise. It drives me crazy in my quiet bedroom or office, though.

I wish I was aware of this issue before purchase, since I may have decided to avoid it. Still, given the quality and variety of sound this amp can create in such a portable unit, I have decided to keep it.

Pros:
- The flexibility of the built-in effects and amp modeling is excellent. I have created/stored four presets that cover my preferences for practice, so I don't feel the need to interact with the app anymore.
- Editing the effects/amp signal chain in the app has been easy/smooth in my experience.
- The sound from the speaker, aside from the extremely annoying gated hiss mentioned above, is really great for such a small, battery-powered unit. I didn't plan to use this with bass guitar, but ran a test based on Positive Grid marketing this for bass as well as standard guitars and was pleasantly surprised with the sounds I got from a few presets.
- For volume, I can reliably get about 90-93 dB @ 1m measured off this thing with the presets I am using. It's possible to push it a bit louder depending on how the presets are EQ'd, but I'm trying to play it safe and not reach the point where the speakers and/or amp are clearly struggling or distorting. This isn't particularly loud, but it's plenty for hearing well enough to practice.

Cons:
- Most of the Spark app features besides editing the effects/amp signal chain are somewhere between mediocre and awful.
- Smart Jam feels very limited. It will transcribe basic chord progressions correctly some of the time, but feels about as good as playing along to some robotic midi backing tracks.
- The attempts at automatic transcription of chords/songs in the Music section of the app have in my experience been almost entirely incorrect for the handful of basic rock/pop songs I have checked. Even songs suggested/highlighted at the top of that feature page in the app have clear issues lining up the chords (with transcription errors) along with the music playback. These features seem nowhere near ready for real practice, and I'm glad I did not purchase this unit with the intent to make any use of them.
- The video capture is also a bit of a gimmick. It uses the built in phone/tablet mic and camera, so it's no different than using the native camera app, except it is for some reason embedded in the Spark app and has worse UI/features for trimming/editing video than the native camera app.
- I had hoped this might be a useful device in some situations using the line-out to a FRFR speaker cabinet, but I'd definitely avoid using this that way due to the unavoidable gated hiss.
- Positive Grid makes a bluetooth foot controller for the Spark series, but it requires pairing the controller with the app on a phone/tablet and has no ability to directly control the amp. I understand some of its capabilities interact with the app functionality, but Positive Grid should have programmed a mode for pairing the foot controller directly to the amp for changing presets and enabling/disabling effects without requiring a live connection to the app. Most of the time I am practicing, I don't need or want to be draining the battery on my phone, so I won't be buying the foot controller.

Overall, even with some serious flaws, I don't know of a better option for a practice amp covering the gamut of guitar and bass tones in a similar price range. I'm satisfied but disappointed by the one glaring audio flaw (gated hiss) and think the product would have been even better at a slightly lower price point without all the half-baked features of the Spark app or at its current price with a bit more care taken to the audio path to remove the hiss issue.

I use this to practice around the house. I love the battery power. It sounds incredible given its tiny size. Everything from clean jazz tones to high gain are available. Using the app is a must. Highly recommended.

I am extremely happy with the Spark Mini. The pros of the physical unit are many. Well constructed. Extremely portable and chargeable. The specs say a charge lasts 8 hrs but I believe it's longer due to the fact that I'm playing it on lower volume during practice sessions in my living room.

The app is amazing. The way it seamlessly blends my Apple Music or YouTube music with my guitar and actually shows the chord structure of the song you're playing just blows my mind.

It's honestly like buying multiple amps and an array of effects pedals all in one purchase. With the push of a button you can choose from thousands of tones uploaded to the cloud by users. With one click your Spark can go from sounding like vintage Van Halen to a 60s 12 string Rickenbacker and beyond.

Pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed.

I was expecting more options re amps. All I seem to be finding are effects...and few that are cleaner ones. Often it "takes a minute" for the effects to kick in. I have found myself not using this much at all.

I originally ordered the Spark Go, but had to return it because it just wasn't loud enough for what I need it for.
I called Nate and the team at Sweetwater, and explained my situation. And as usual, they were so helpful and on top of their game. I returned the GO and ordered tje Mini. All I can say is, what an amazing and great sounding little amp. Love the fact that it has a rechargeable battery. But the best part about it is the sound, can't believe this little amp has such great sound, it sounds great at high volumes and the app is great. Also enjoying all the different tones you can get, it comes with some built in, but you have access to so many user developed tones through the app. This is really helpful to me, as I am in mid 50's amd just started playing about 18 months ago. I highly recommend this amp for anyone that needs something small, portable, loud and versatile!

I picked this up for my dad to amplify his Yamaha NTX1 when he's playing for a living room full of guests, and it's prefect for that - easily loud enough for a crowd of 20-30 or more. But I've been running my Tele through it, and it has a pretty amazingly sweet bluesy clean tone for something that runs on batteries and is the size of a lunchbox. The larger Spark might have more bass and more volume, but if I get one for my own house it's likely to be the Mini, because that sound hits the spot, and I already have the loud stuff covered with "traditional" combos.

I picked this up for practice and minor amplification for my guitar & ubass. It charges quickly, and the effects out of the box are impressive for the size. It took forcing an update through before the bluetooth would finally connect, but the preset virtual foodpedal options are impressive. Very portable, which means practicing on trips is even easier.

Very user friendly with quick and consistent bluetooth connection. This is clearly designed for practice that requires tones with distortion and other effects. Unfortunately, I have no use for any of that as I am a jazz and classical musician. The amp can barely put out a good clean tone and forget about trying to get some mid-range punch. I still have a good use for this amp as I wanted something that can be louder than my archtop when played acoustically. I have used it with a loop pedal to create a backing track on some tunes and this works very well. The sound is very quiet but still a great living room amp when I don't want to go to my studio and feel like I'm "working". Taking off one star because there isn't a jazz amp selection on the app or any presets. There are acoustic presets but they are lacking...

What an incredible little amp, and packed with great tone and amp options ! I don't know what else to say about it other than I love it and with I could have got something like this decades ago.

Talk about a game changer of a practice amp. You have the opportunity to find many of your favorite sounds and then even Tweak them to your liking. It really is endless what you can do with the app.
I have both spark amps and love them both but this one you can carry around and just plug and play.
You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

It's a good little amp and Bluetooth speaker, but I wouldn't use a bass with it unless I had headphones on. Even at low volume, a bass will overpower the speakers. I didn't get above "4" on the volume before the speakers became overstressed. Otherwise, nice amp for the price.

I seldom get excited about this kind of product as typically they just can't deliver the sounds and sonic quality I need to keep my interest. I have been a world touring musician my entire life and always wished something like this was available. This tiny device blew me away after digging in and dialing tones with my various guitars. The balanced highs and lows were astonishing for such a small amp….and battery powered at that! This will be a tremendous composing and practicing tool…..plus the many available backing tracks will be great for exploring new chops and different approaches for your playing. No matter what level you are currently just buy one of these…..your skill level will absolutely move forward if you spend a little time exploring all the possibilities this miniature device has to offer!

The solo and the custom settings were disappointing but I switched them out for bass and acoustic amps that seem to work better

I've waited for this amp for a long long long time. Spark has always had an amazing database of digital effects that are easily customized or use pro was immediately. The sound and vibe this amp delivers is ASTONISHING! It's 100% perfection and doubles as an easy to play along with Jam Track machine. This will help me reach my goal of being a Musician!

It's pretty incredible, the tone and volume that comes out of this little amp. Super convenient, too. We just used it as a bluetooth speaker for the family bbq. Can't wait to dig in more to the app, have already spent hours playing with different amps and effects. Love it.
