Morley PFW2 Classic Size Power Fuzz Wah Reviews

Wah Guitar Effect Pedal with Electro-optical Design, Switch-less Operation, Fuzz with Level/Intensity Controls, Vintage/Modern Fuzz Switch, and Buffer Circuit

The Morley Classic Size Power Fuzz Wah delivers one of Morley's signature tones to guitarists, bassists, and keyboardists everywhere: a combination wah/fuzz that is perfect for aggressive bass guitar yet versatile enough for stoner-rock guitars and funky electric pianos. This pedal is based on the original Tel-Ray/Morley Power Wah Fuzz with some important modern updates, including the option to power with a battery or wall adapter and independent controls for each effect. The quick-clip battery door is especially handy for making quick battery swaps before sets — no tools required. And Morley's famous electro-optical design means there are no pots to wear out.

five stars all around on this one, Morley, Sweetwater as always, and anyone else involved. Very different from a cry baby, and I use it differently. Could possibly even justify having one of each.

this one differs from the Morley PFW 20/20 as well as from the AFX-1, because on this one you can leave the "pedal to the metal" with the wah effect engaged, and take your foot off, and just play like that if you choose to. with the other two models mentioned above, you would need to leave your foot pressed down on the pedal, to achieve the same result, otherwise the pedal will pop back up and shut off, if you take your foot off. I don't know why they made the other two that way? so this one has a footswitch that turns the wah on and off, wheras the other two turn on when you step on the pedal, and turn off when you don't...

I originally wanted a wah pedal with onboard distortion/overdrive etc., because I have had mixed results using separate wah and fuzz pedals together. If you use wah and fuzz together I highly recommend a pedal that has both of those features, particularly one of these Morley's. However with the fuzz turned off and the wah turned on, when used with a separate fuzz pedal, so far everything is behaving and working together nicely. So again, the Classic PFW has not dissapointed. I mostly use the vintage fuzz, but the modern setting is useful also. they do not sound so different, the vintage is a little hotter and heavier, almost like a Big Muff. the modern is more like a 70s/90s baby than straight 90s. I think I was using the modern with digitial delay, and that was a winning combination.

this thing can get very loud and is very powerful! the fuzz setting that is. ease into this for sure. I have only played it at home so far, and have only kept the fuzz level at the absolute lowest setting (but the fuzz intensity at the highest). turned it up a little and it was just all kinds of volume. the wah level seems like more of a true blend, than such a blast of heat.

If there is one thing to be careful with, it is the plastic battery cover on the back, and the small tab that clicks it in and out of place...interesting design, I havn't broken it...yet

just want to give another shout to Sweetwater customer service, I had an issue on a completley different item, they took care of it immediatley no hassle at all, basically while I was sleeping. Thanks again

Killer Pedal

By Joshua B. from Sweetwater, TX

Needed a powerful wah pedal for my Bass for a few tracks. This thing did the trick. Sweetwater also killed it as per their standard operating procedure with quick shipping and customer service that was almost too good.

Dream come true.

By Sweetwater Customer

So my Dunlop Crybaby Wah lacks range. And it has virtually no effect to my Fuzz pedals. I love fuzz and wah together. This pedal allows me to wah my fuzz signal creating gorgeous tones. Thank you Morley for this awesome pedal! And thank you Sweetwater for stocking this sweet pedal.

My New Morley

By Lou C. from Odessa, NY
Music Background: Started playing, underaged, in '57. On and off ever since. Play everything from the upright bass down to the mandolin. Prefer bass & guitar. And old guy but I still have a few licks left...

Built like a tank. I've no doubt that this will outlive me...It does everything I'll ever ask of it...The fuzz section, vintage & modern, gives me everything from the 50s to even some like overdrive stuff. The tunable Wah is as fine as I've had...I'm sure that there are guys that can tweak this and that with two or three pedals but, for me this is three pedals in one...
