Great Mastering multi-band EQ
I have a "full suite" of TC Electronics hardware controllers (in the TC powered "rack" unit) and the PEQ-3000 is absolutely great for Mastering work. It is my 100% 'go to' as the almost final step in the processing chain just ahead of the TC Electronics Brickwall HD, and a final VU meter plugin I put on there. It simply "does the job" for the final Mastering tweaks that might be needed. Multi-band lets you deal with any little "issues" that are hiding in the original mix.
The controller itself is very solidly built, and does not feel like a plastic-y toy. The various functions are easy to see and to select. While the graphic display screen on the hardware unit IS small... I find it still works just fine for me since the colors help, and turning the knobs lets me use ears more than eyes. It would work just fine as a single stand-alone unit on a desk, I think, but when put into the rack unit, the whole overall assembly is solid as a brick on the desk. Setup is simple, and the presence of the unit unlocks the plug-in license almost instantly without any work on the user's part.
I also have to say that having hardware controllers for all the things that the TC stuff does in general is REALLY nice.
