They fixed the long screw issue!
I was hesitant to purchase this because the reviews were saying that the screws for the mount were too long. We ordered the mount anyway. Turns out they added in a set of screws that are much shorter than the stock screws, making it a perfect fit for the Pearl Mimic Pro! Fits like a glove. Highly recommended!
As advertised
Works great with our Pearl MalletStation, no problems.
Change the screws!
The mount is very good quality and fits perfectly for the Pearl Mimic Pro module.
The problem are the screws. they are the wrong ones for the Mimic. They are not just too long, they have different threads and you can't make it thru. If you buy this mount, be aware that you will need to buy new screws.
Needs washers to mount correctly
I've seen a review stating the screws are too long and need to be cut. Just add a few washers and this will correct easily.
Solid mount, terrible screws
I got this for the Pearl Mimic Pro, and I expected it would work flawlessly (given that Pearl makes both), but the screws seemed to get hung up on the way in, and eventually stripped out about halfway down. Judging from other's reviews, it might be that I'm running up against something internally (possibly damaging parts?!), so it had nowhere to go. Unfortunately, that renders the mount useless because it's too far from the mount to actually function.
As the last person said, you might want to source shallower screws to safely mount your module.
BEWARE MIMIC PRO USERS - SCREWS TOO LONG
Good mount, but hard to believe this is marked for the Mimic Pro yet includes screws that are too long and can damage the Mimic Pro's internals. I installed this mount on my mimic pro and thought the screws looked too long, though I saw no mention of that possibility anywhere. I gently snugged down the screws, and the top ones appeared to go in all the way yet the bottom ones appeared would be too long, so I left them partly backed out. Even still, when I plugged in the Mimic Pro, it powered up, but would not trigger. I thought my problem was cabling, but it was not until I removed the mount altogether that I realized the screws that came with this mount truly are too long and were probably either putting pressure on the internals or shorting something out. Thankfully it appears, because I was careful, I did not damage the expensive Mimic Pro. I am now on my way to source #10-32 or M5 screws that are half as long as those that came with it, probably about 1/2 inch at most.
So in summary, the mount itself is fine, but that it is sold for the Mimic Pro and includes screws that are long enough to damage the unit is completely unacceptable. PEARL AND SWEETWATER - PLEASE FIND A WAY TO WARN FOLKS ABOUT THIS!
This will bend the bottom of your module
Beware before using this mount that the screws are way too long. You will need to cut the screws in half or the bottom plate will bend. Sweetwater should be well aware of this by now considering how many of these modules they sell and at least give the customer a heads up that the screws need to be cut shorter so they don't damage this expensive wonderful module.
