Dry and Dead
Beautiful Drum...Really tried to give it a good go. I tried an Evans HD Dry, UV1 Reverse Dot and the Stock Head and none of them were able to open up this drum. It felt dead and choked especially when hitting hard or with rim shots.
Any dampening (moon gel, M80 snareweight, O-ring) choked the drum way more than I would have liked. The seam on the shell was pretty poor especially on the bearing edges (I could see a hole in the seam on the bearing edge). Makes me think this price is due to a cheaper shell construction...the price was definitely a selling point for me.
Hardware quality from DW/PDP is top notch so it was sad to return this.
