I purchased four of these, two of them being the "rack tom" model with the shorter shaft and two being the "floor tom" model with a longer shaft. I bought them with the intention of making a complex setup process quicker at shows where time is limited.

The fact that the rack tom version has such a short shaft is problematic to a quick setup, because you must put the tom on, then attach the mic stand, which requires a drum key, making it even less convenient. I solved this by putting the longer floor tom model on my rack toms below where the tom mounts, so the mic stand can always be attached and the rack tom can slide right on top.

I ended up using the rack tom version on my floor toms, mounting them to the base of a couple of cymbal stands for a more permanent setup as well.

Overall I would recommend these, as long as you understand what the shortcomings of the design are.
