Roland PD-12X V-Drums Pad
Roland PD-12X V-Drums Pad Reviews
Seeking an extra tom or two for your Roland V-Drums setup? This PD-12X is just what you need. It comes stock with Roland latest flagship VA716 kit and is compatible with other modules. Its acoustic-style hoop height plus die-cast hoops are ideal for drummers who move back and forth between acoustic and electronic drum sets and demand consistent rebound and feel. Plus, its shallow depth enables positioning the PD-12X just about anywhere you want. The high-resolution, multi-sensor system provides distinct detection of rim and head strikes while eliminating "hot spots," plus providing positional sensing with the V71, TD-50X, and TD-27 modules. Finally, the PD-12X's mount is nearly universal, enabling you to use it with hardware that you may already own from Roland, as well as other manufacturers such as DW, Pearl, and Yamaha.
No more hot spotting. Drum features (4) sensors and hitting none of them produced "hot spotting"
I've always had problems with electronic drum pads having a hot spot: an area where if your stick hits that area, (usually where the Piezo cone touches the mesh head) the output sound from the drum is about 3 times louder than normal. (hotspotting) With this new Roland PD-12X, I purposely focused on where the (4) cone sensor areas are located and hit each area very hard with my stick. So far, I've not been able to produce any hot spotting. (as of 4-2026) (You can shine a flashlight to see the 4 cone locations)
