Pearl Hardware: Simply the BEST!!!
After playing only Pearl drums and using their rack components for years...it made perfect sense to purchase and employ four (4) PCX-100 rack clamps for a non-drum related project: using my extra Pearl ICOM Rack bars to design/build a permanent rack frame for the Yamaha Electronic Piano for our Worship Band at church.
The band loves the new frame - especially the keyboard player...and the difference and improvement from a simple "X-frame" is striking and looks/works amazing!
Of course, I'll most surely choose Pearl rack components if another "Franken-Steve" build-project emerges in my brain...

Pearl Rack Clamps Fully Compatible
Pearl makes great hardware.
I own the older style Pearl Rack with the black finish on it. The clamps that come with that rack have a hinge on one side and a clamp screw on the other. Those types of clamps only work on the intended size pipe. (in this case 7/8").
Since I am using the new Mapex Armory Cymbal stands I needed a Rack Clamp that could accept the 1" sized pipe. These clamps worked great. They have clamp screws on both sides so will open to accept a 1" pipe. Probably a little larger.
Also the way these clamps open and close around the rack itself is a dream. Just set it on top and it folds into place and is steady until you close and lock it. Great for when you are trying to position toms for the first time and aren't sure where exactly the clamps need to go.

Pearl Icon Rack Clamp
New and improved! At first, I was sad because they don't make the black ones anymore. I wanted a few more to match my existing ones, but I had to break down and buy the new ones. Well, I can see why they don't make the old ones anymore! In addition to being shinier (ha), they hinge in 2 places. I didn't know how important that was until I went back and worked with one of the old ones. Also, the locking bolt is built-in, not a separate piece, so it can't fall out like the old one. Anybody wanna buy a set of the old ones? :-D

very durable and sturdy, never had a problem with it slipping and is rock solid. I recommend using this for cymbal arms and using the pivot clamps for toms as it allows a bit more flexibility however this is still great for toms.
Pearl ICON Rack Clamp
Just picked up a used ICON rack actually, about a month or so ago. Decided to add cymbals to my setup and decided the PCX-100 clamps would fit the bill...and they do. Love the ICON series rack and everything that goes along with it. The PCX-100 clamps are perfect for just something that needs to be added to the rack. My only "complaint" would be the way you tighten the clamp to say a cymbal stand. Wish there were two wing nuts instead of one and the threaded...whatever it is. However, it would probably be a bit clunky to have two wing nuts side by side, so I understand.
