Squier Sonic Precision Bass - California Blue with Maple Fingerboard
Squier Sonic Precision Bass - California Blue with Maple Fingerboard Reviews
From the early 1950s to today, one bass throughout the history of popular music has seen more recording time than perhaps any other: the Precision Bass. Designed to ignite that first spark of inspiration, the Squier Sonic Precision Bass provides a solid foundation for any budding bassist that grows with them throughout their life. The combination of a single pickup with a maple neck emits the foundational sonic punch that catapulted the P Bass to its legendary status, while the lightweight poplar body and maple fingerboard offer a comfortable, unencumbered playing experience. With such performance features as a rigid chrome bridge, sealed die-cast tuners, and a synthetic bone nut, this 4-string powerhouse is reliable enough for Sweetwater’s bass players to take directly to the stage. Simplistic in nature but far from ordinary, the Sonic Precision Bass serves as a fantastic gateway into the world of bass guitar, whether you’re discovering music or creating it.
Squire P bass
I am not a bass player but want to make my own backing tracks and so after a lot of reviewing I chose Squire for a decent quality starting bass so far everything seems fine
Squire Sonic Precision Bass
Great deep sound, Very easy to play. My grandson and I both love it
Insane deal for this bass!
I got the yellow version that was only available for a limited time and I'm very happy with this bass. I've always wanted a p bass with a jazz neck and now Squier has one and it's super affordable! Did a basic set up and the neck and frets aren't perfect, but this bass is certainly pleasantly playable.
The electronics are pretty meh, but I'd rather a company save money on the electronics vs build quality because electronics are very easy to change. I put in the EMG Geezer Butler electronics kit that I picked up from Sweetwater and now this thing kicks butt.
As someone who has some basses that are significantly more money, I think this is a great gigging bass to pick up!
My wife said this one sounds really good.
My dad has a Ken Smith custom bass. I do really like that one, but this one plays and sounds really good. For, I said yes. You need to cut a bit out of 11k or so to help with RF interference, but it's truly a great sound. And the RF thing isn't that bad. That's just if you're recording
Good value
Very comfortable to play. Small handed amateur here lol.
Added Aguilar PUs, brass to brass, and demarzio pots.
Motsumotu getting jealous.
my bass
Wow I really enjoy my bass. The box was padded so well I thought they forgot the bass. But lo and behold she was in there and I'm happy
A Keeper
It's laughable how inexpensive and how good my Sonic P Bass is. Fit and finish are perfect, very good tuners, perfectly adequate bridge, good weight (about 8.5 lb) and balance. My neck is very stable. I did a setup 2 months ago, and it hasn't needed to be adjusted again. I wish I knew more about the neck finish so I could be sure that it will hold up. It feels great, like smooth, bare wood. I guess Squier Indonesia must know what they're doing.
OK, the pickup and electronics are meh but quiet, and will get you by. I invested in the EMG GZR P Bass pickup and wiring kit, new knobs (the push-on stock knobs won't work), and DR Legend Flatwounds, so I'm ready for my new gig at Motown. No, wait. Maybe I just dreamed that up.
Not bad not great but its $ so...
Plays fine when broken in and set up, pick ups are a bit quiet.

I wanted to get a Fender marketed and backed PRECISION BASS(t) with tradition looks and headstock and a maple fretboard. I previously played Squier PJ Precision, Mini and 32 inch Jaguar CV and though happy with them felt a little bit was missing. My Precision Mini was a really great bass but pickups were a bit weak though stronger than my 67 Mustang Bass and since I also play a Martin 000C-Jr bass with mini length neck I decided I wanted to get a 34 inch neck bass. The Sonic Precision bass is perfect. The pickups are incredibly powerful somewhat overwhelming my practice am a Rumble 15, which I consider good since IM have alot of head room playing through a more powerful amp=. The neck is neck is nicely finished with well prepared frets. The bass fits me perfectly is comfort5able on the shoulder the Mini Precision, thi0s bass provides inc redible val-ue for a very reasonable price. I was very happy jto0 find a model price Fender tranditional Precision since I honestly dont like PJ And for the money the finish choices are incredibly beautiful And to top it off, the bass is $ less than last year.
