Fender bass

By Lynn from Oregon on March 24, 2021 Music Background: I have been playing since I was 15. I am now 72.

I gave a great deal of thought as well as research to buying this bass. I looked into the wood it is made of. The neck wood as well. I compared this to the u.s.a. made bass. I went to the store and picked it up. I played it. I looked it over for months. Yes, this is put together in Mexico but it is every bit a Fender and a good one. This is not a beginner bass. It is just too good for that. I bought the maple neck which is smooth and nice. Sweetwater did a great job of checking everything out before it arrived to me. I have a Gibson les Paul as well as Fender telecaster both being made in the good old u.s.a. I would buy this bass again in a minute. Being put together in Mexico does not make it poorly made. The price is great, the playing is great. as is the feel. Sweetwater is the best.

Is 5 stars the limit?

I've owned the same fender bass for quite some time. When it came to picking a new one, this one stuck out. Admittedly, when I opened it I was a little disappointed it didn't not come with a gig bag. But once I plugged it I , I couldn't have been happier. If they had to sacrifice the case to put more into the bass it was worth it. The neck is super playable and easy to navigate. It's color sparkles like unicorns horn. It growls and thumps like nobody's business. Stop looking at other basses. This ones if.

Great buy!

Taught myself to play drums originally, but decided I wanted to branch out and try to wrap my head around something with strings. This bass is wonderful for a beginner or a seasoned player. The range of sound is amazing (coupled with a Fender Rumble 100), and the look and feel are awesome, too.

IMPRESSIVE!

I am really happy with this bass. I have a USA 50's reissue P bass and this Player Series actually plays better. The neck is absolutely perfect and the satin finish on the back of neck feels like silk. I play through a 1980's Peavey TNT combo amp with a 15" speaker and I can't believe the sound. I might buy the Jazz model next.

Great bass

This bass is fantastic and as always, Sweetwater continues to be the best website to purchase all things music.

Love it!

My new Player bass is great. It seems lighter than my American Pro and I love the maple fretboard. And delivery was the next day! Thanks, Sweetwater, for another left-handed beauty!

I have been a bass player for a semi-professional band for almost 7 years now, and have played a handful of basses, but right out of the box, there was something very special about this p-bass. As a left handed player, left handed basses are either $150 or $1500, so this bass already fills a cost niche that is greatly needed in the market.
The action is INSANE. Every fret is low enough to minimize the distance I need to press down the string, but high enough to prevent fret buzz. The finish on the bass is stellar, and the frets are filed and polished down to a quality finish. The pots have a nice taper too, linear, but certainly not the taper I get with my Emerson wiring harnesses.
The pickups have that p-bass growl you expect, but also have a noticeable low-end that sits well in the bottom of your mix.
Of course, Sweetwater gets a ton of credit for their 55-point check, they truly didn"t miss a thing.
Buy this bass. Now. Once word gets out about how great they are, they"ll be bought out, for sure.
