After 55 yrs of playing bass, this is my one electric bass

By Frank Vozak from Oak Park, I on February 6, 2024 Music Background: Playing 55 yrs everything from rock to orchestral music to pep band to country to blue grass/folk /roots

I initially purchased my Precision Mini when they were first issued based on reports from Germany where is was initially released. This bass is so dynamite that it has its own n TALK BASS group. Out of the box it is a great bass, but the basic guts of this bass make it perfect as a project bass which has been played out many times on TALK BASS. It is a great way to get Fender Precision sound for bassists with small hands, arthritic hands, carpal tunnel and for younger bassists as well as guitarists subbing on bass or switching over. It was well reviewed by BASS PLAYER and was one of its basses of the year during its year of US release. I have owned many basses through the years including 1967 vintage Mustang, Jazz Bass and Gibson EB-O and Squier Precision, Jaguar and PJ basses and this bass and my short scale Martin bass are my two favorites. The luthiers at the Squier plant in Indonesia do an excellent job with fit and finish. I looked at buying a PJ Mustang or a full scale complaint is the limited choice of strings on a commercial basis, no flat wounds or tape wounds though I am tempted to try Martin short scale round wounds. This bass fits perfectly in Stratocaster hard cases or gig bags, in fact I carry mine around in a relatively low price after market Stratocaster gig bag. Cosmeticly I wish the head stock said Precision Mini Bass rather than just MINI. The free Fender computer lessons is a nice touch. I usually ruin it through a Fender 15 watt amp with an 8 inch speaker and it sounds good but it absolutely roared through a DI into a house PA at an open mike jam. My ad vice, buy this bass, it will serve you well
