Fender Custom Shop Limited-edition P Bass Special Journeyman Relic - Aged Dakota Red Reviews

4-string Electric Bass with Alder Body, Maple Neck, Rosewood Fretboard, 1 '75 Jazz Bass Single-coil Pickup, and 1 '65-'70 Precision Bass Humbucking Pickup - Aged Dakota Red

This unparalleled low-end machine combines elements of the Precision and Jazz bass guitars, fused through a distillation of history, class, and technique with which only the most qualified luthiers of Fender’s Custom Shop could do justice. The 2-piece alder body is routed for both hand-wound Precision and Jazz bass pickups, also sporting a rosewood fingerboard atop its quartersawn 1-piece maple neck, finished with a ’60 Bass “U” profile. Vintage hardware, an RSD deluxe bass bridge, and era-accurate design cues deliver a thundering rumble that doesn’t relinquish articulation. At Sweetwater, it’s not every day that we play an instrument that feels equally new and historically accurate, but Fender’s Limited-edition P Bass Special is the real deal.

Remarkable Instrument. Just Buy It!

By Sweetwater Customer on April 23, 2023

This is one of those guitars where from the moment you pick it up you know it has that unmistakable magic of a special instrument. Pricey, yes, but the craftsmanship, visual appeal, and impressive range of tones makes it more than worth it. Interesting riffs just kind of effortly flow out of this thing. Nails that classic P-bass soul thump, but capable of so much more. Absolute joy to play!
