Yamaha PACS+12 Pacifica Standard Plus Electric Guitar - Ash Pink, Rosewood Fingerboard Reviews
Introduced in 1990, Yamaha’s Pacifica solidbody electric guitars gained instant worldwide popularity thanks to their outstanding quality and value. Indeed, with its smooth playability and sonic versatility, it didn’t take long for the Pacifica to become a stalwart on the LA session scene. Now, Sweetwater is excited to present Yamaha’s high-end line of Pacificas designed by Yamaha Japan in partnership with Yamaha Artist Services in Hollywood. Featuring lightweight, resonant chambered bodies, top-shelf hardware, and powerful pickups developed by Rupert Neve Designs, these guitars raise the bar for performance and sound while retaining the series’ renowned affordability. Solid HSS for an intermediate player
Been playing an acoustic for a bit, and wanted a super flexible, quality electric that do a bit of everything. The fit/finish of the guitar is super nice - love the ash pink + rosewood combo. The neck is pretty thin, but makes for super easy riffing up the neck. Came well setup from the box.
It's just perfect for me.
It's just such a silky, smooth, sweet guitar. It's hard to explain it well. It feels like satin along the neck. The trem is tight. The stings bend easily, the frets have no resistance to the strings. It stays in tune. The pickups are very clear. I want to say their almost transparent, except that doesn't make any sense. It sounds massive and heavy through my Peavey ultra 410. It's like magic, it senses what you're trying to do, like some mystic conduit. I adore this instrument. I've never played anything like it.
It does NOT sound like a strat, which is sometimes important to folks looking at this body shape. I saw another review criticizing the trem arm, that it falls out and is lose. It does not. It is a screw in trem and you can set the resistance via a set scew.
