Clarity is amazing
I've always been a fan of the Seymour Duncan JB. However, I like the Parallel Axis Original pick up just as much if not more. Clean tones are sweet but it really shines with gain. It's exceptionally clear even with lots of gain. I paired this with a Seymour Duncan 59 neck pick up in an LP style guitar. You won't be disappointed. P.S. I'm not a fan of the Parallel Axis Distortion. Get the original.
Better than original
A while back, I had a Lyle les paul copy, and it had a bridge pickup with one coil of screws and a coil of slugs. It really had a special sound and high output. /When I saw a pup with all slugs, I had to have one. It's output is amazing! Just the . right amount of treble and strong mid range, and not too much low end. It's impedence is comparable to Gibson;s 500T. RUN with the big dogs!!
Underrated
If you like the JB aka SH-4, TB-4, then you will like this pickup. It has just the right combination of things - great string clarity, tight low end, high-output but not too high where things get overly compressed, great dynamics and response. I installed this pickup in the bridge position of my Charvel Dk24 which is an alder body, bolt-on guitar. I urge everyone to try one of these pickups at some point because they are so underrated and sound great.
