Pearl P2050C Eliminator Redline Single Bass Drum Pedal Reviews

Single Bass Drum Pedal with Dual-chain Drive

Fans of the original Eliminator will find even more to love in the Pearl Eliminator Redline pedal. Pearl took everything that made the PowerShifter Eliminator a legend — speed, response, throw, and its interchangeable cam system — and pushed it to the limit for top-tier performance. Each of the Redline’s four redesigned cams offers expanded customization, snapping into place on the fly and color coded for instant recognition. The pedal also borrows the NiNja skateboard bearings from Pearl’s Demon Drive, featuring micro-polished steel balls for ultra-low friction and blazing speed. Even the iconic QuadBeater gets an upgrade: its head is slightly reduced and now incorporates an anti-vibration Control Core, giving all four playing surfaces enhanced flex, smoother feel, and improved response.

Highly recommend

By Gregory H. from Carson City, NV

I bought another pedal that is deemed the "gold standard" by many drummers, and absolutely despised it. I returned it and got this pedal instead, and I must say the difference is night and day. Whereas the other pedal felt like it was fighting me no matter what I did with it, this pedal gives me control like no other. It's smooth and fast, but also powerful. No adjustments necessary, it was phenomenal out of the box.

smooth, fast, perfect

By Mark S. from Allen, TX

This pedal is so reliable, smooth, easy to adjust, the adjustments stay in place, and I just love this pedal. Feels like my foot is floating the entire time. This pedal works perfectly for both heel up and flat foot with the same settings.

Perfect

By Sweetwater Customer

I swore by another pedal for about 15 years, and then I tried these... My playing improved 30% in the first week, the pedal helped me play things I never was able to with my previous ones.

It's my second version of this pedal, and it was super smooth with Red. Highly recommend it and would get this pedal 10/10.

High quality, smooth and silent.

By Richard T. from Pen Argyl, PA

I've had many bass pedals, and after a lot of research recently got this for my Alesis Strike kit. Excellent quality and very smooth operation. Although you can do a lot of adjustments, I found it pretty much perfect out of the box. Well worth the money.

Old vs new

By Doug
Music Background: 45 yrs professional

I have played the eliminator pedal series since early 2000 and absolutely love it. It was and is far more comfortable and easy to play than anything else ive used. Have always felt the multi cam idea was great. I recently injured that leg (playing a lot!) and decided to try the newer generation currently out there. In a word, i found no noticeable difference in feel and performance. Also noticed some key adjustment parts are now plastic. Im weary of threaded plastic parts. After testing it, i took my old ones apart cleaned and light oil, some adjusting and im off to the races with my original eliminators. Again, felt no difference and original pedals are made entirely of metal except cam and beater which has been great. I returned it. Great pedal, feels the same as older pedal. Sweetwater is a fantastic company and Nathan my sales engineer is great! I will be doing business with them the rest of my career.

THE most versatile pedal ever.

By Tony T. from Neptune, NJ
Music Background: Drummer / Audio Geek

I purchased my first pair of Power Shifter Eliminators back in 2003 and I was simply amazed at the range of adjustments possible. Before these I used a pair of basic, lightweight strap-drive Pearls that had limited adjustments but felt perfect for me. I used the Eliminators for a long time, but eventually became curious about the DW 5000 Turbo. What was I thinking?!
I purchased a pair and I could never get used to them. They were smooth, but had a heavy feel to them and that beater was just too heavy to use.
I went back to using my Pearls last August. There they were; that favorite old pair of comfortable sneakers! So, not content with that, I decided to spring for a pair of the Redlines and I'm just amazed! I'm blown away by how fast, smooth, and adjustable they are! The hoop clamp is as good as anything else out there. I prefer the Control Core Quad Beater over the old one. That's a definite improvement. Right out of the box the pedal felt great! However, I'm loving the Red cam, medium spring tension, and the PowerShifter back on the light setting. The pedal is superbly designed, and it looks fly!
Wow!

The case !!!

By Mike M. from New Jersey
Music Background: Oldies -stand up cocktail kit and double bass heavy rock

These pedals replaced my Axis longboards. They have more adjustments than I can understand, and I confess to leaving them just the way they came from Pearl and they are great. The tightener on the side is very convenient (I started with Ludwig Speed Kings - NOT convenient).
But , I think one of my favorite features is the case. All my hardware used to take such a beating - now everything goes in a case and this is a really nice one.
The price is just perfect for this level of equipment. I am super happy with them.

Forget the long boards... So easy to play

By Cameron from Salt Lake City

I've played Mapex Falcon, Tama Speed Cobra, a few DW's.... This is my favorite pedal I've played. Funny how I used to think I really needed that longer foot board. Then I played THIS. And found it easier to play than all of them. So unless you're really into long boards exclusively, I can't imagine any reason to get any other pedal than this one. It's so smooth and responsive... and you can dial it in to whatever geometry or playing feel you want. Just a really sweet pedal. And it's CHEAPER than all the above pedals I mentioned. Go figure.

Amazing pedal

By Salvador R.

This was a major game changer for me. Going from a $40 PDP pedal which was awful, to this beautiful beast. It's smooth, its powerful, and the options are limitless. Only con is THERE'S SO MANY OPTIONS. I have yet to take the time to get my feel. Otherwise, fantastic pedal. Highly recommend.
