Trick Drums P1VBFLM1 Pro1-V Bigfoot Low Mass Single Bass Drum Pedal Reviews

Direct-drive Single Bass Drum Pedal with Longboard Footboard and 3-way Beater

For the Pro-1V Low Mass single pedal, Trick has managed to mill out 7 ounces from the underside of the footboard — nearly half the weight of the previous BigFoot longboard design — for an almost weightless response underfoot. And trust us: that nearly half a pound makes an appreciable difference in terms of speed and precision. Singles, doubles, feathers, and beater buries all feel incredibly satisfying to play on this pedal. And this isn't even to mention all the original Pro1-V's hallmarks: its on-the-fly compression spring thumbwheel adjustment, spring-loaded hoop clamp, and independent beater and footboard angling. It all comes to you in an impressive US-made machined aluminum housing and featuring a 1:1 direct-drive system for the ultimate in touring and performance dependability.

After 3 Years!! More Durable Than ANY Other Pedal I Have Owned!

By Russ M. from San Antonio, TX.
Music Background: Drums & Percussion since 1962, Bass & Keyboards since 2005, Guitar since 2023.

I've owned my Trick Drums Big Foot Low Mass Pedal for more than 3 years. The only maintenance I have performed was to lubricate with graphite. The pedal works as well as the first month I bought it. I've never needed to install replacement parts. Many of my friends are using Tama, Pearl, DW, PDP, DDrum, and Mapex pedals. The majority are replacing their springs yearly. Some have replaced springs every 6 months. A good number have told me that have had some bearing wear, and their pedals don't respond as smoothly as when they first got them. A number of my friends who own Trick Drum pedals are only using them at home, and are using Pearl Demon 3000D or Sonor Perfect Balance on the road; because they are more compact. After having problems with the Pearl and Sonor pedals on the road, they're now carrying their Trick Drum pedals on the road.

Have you ever played Ghost Notes on a Bass Drum?

By Russ M. from San Antonio, TX
Music Background: Musician, Percussionist, Drummer 59 yrs. exp. Genres: Classical, Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Pop, Blues, Metal, Alternative

I've never been able to achieve this much control with any other pedal! The low Mass pedal makes it possible to vibrate your foot on the top surface of the pedal and the beater can vibrate on the bass drum head. The dynamic range is from ppp to fff-sfz. The pedal will move as fast as you can move your feet! The biggest problem I've had with this pedal is setting it up in the first place. Buy a steel rule; so you can measure the beater shaft height and pedal height. There are numerically graded settings for beater angle, pedal height. Write ALL settings down! It may take a couple of weeks or longer to get the settings you want; and you may want different settings depending on what you're playing. Recommendation: If you're playing a gig use settings in the middle. You won't have enough time to change settings between numbers; even if you wrote all of the settings down. I can't evaluate durability because I've only had this pedal for 4 months. However, it looks extremely well made.
