Yamaha used state-of-the-art technology to capture the piano's powerful dynamic bass sound, warm midrange, and clean highs, putting it into the playable - and portable P-155B.
Gives you a remarkably natural playing feel
When you play the Yamaha P-155B, it feels as if you're playing a beautiful acoustic piano. That's because Yamaha gave it their expressive GH (Graded Hammer) keyboard - the keys are weighted, just as an acoustic piano's are, so the instrument has a heavier touch in the lower keys and a gradually lighter touch into the higher keys. More than that, the keys also perfectly tap into the P-155B's rich piano sound, giving you a wide dynamic range - when you play softly, you'll hear a gentle acoustic piano sound, and as you gradually play with more force, the P-155B will respond naturally with increasing volume.
Practice and performance made easy with onboard speakers
The Yamaha P-155B makes it easy for you to just sit down and play - whether that's practicing in your living room, or out performing somewhere. Just turn it on, and you can play through its built-in speakers - plug in a pair or two of headphones and you can play into the night, without waking anyone. And, if you do want to plug into a recording system - or send the sound out to a professional PA system - the Yamaha P-155B has the outputs you need.
Perform expressively using 11 built-in effects
While the Yamaha P-155B certainly has a rich piano sound, you're free to give it color and flavor, to achieve the sound you're looking to create. Just use the digital piano's 11 different effects to craft your own custom sound. For needs beyond traditional piano, the P-155B actually features a total of 17 voices. You can use a special layer mode to stack voices on top of each other - or split them into sections across the keyboard. Play a bass with your left hand while your right hand plays a string arrangement - the Yamaha P-155B gives you a lot of ways to develop your sound.
Record songs to your USB flash drive
Capture inspiration when it strikes, using the Yamaha P-155B's onboard 2-track recording feature. In fact, if you want to share your creations, you can record directly to a USB flash drive and easily transfer your songs to your computer.
