Good, yes, unbreakable? No.

By Sweetwater Customer

Long time gigging, heavy handed player. With most electrics I get one night out of a string set, maybe 2 nights and the 2nd night I'll break one at some point almost for sure. It is nearly always the D or G string, the focal point of my clumsy and heavy attack. Acoustics (the strings I'm reviewing here) I get 2 to 3 nights, same breakage scenario - it matters not the guitar as long ago I've come to know it's me.

Enter Paradigm, my new hope! I bought a 'year's supply' (4 sets) of these acoustic lights and played away for 5 shows not playing any lighter or harder - just doing the show. Last night, show 6 the G string breaks about 10 minutes into the show per typical fashion on a strum.

So the verdict for me - great strings, they last twice as long as my others (Daddario have been my best result). They sound fine and all that, hold tune feel great, etc. From a financial standpoint whether I'm using Daddario or Paradigm I'm still averaging a string set cost of about 3$/gig.

EB's warranty allows for 3 claims per year in their guarantee program. You must at your cost send in the broken set. There's nothing unfair about this but at the end of the day I'm not saving any cost with shipping and the sending off of the old strings. Of course with my old routine of restringing every other night that's a hassle too.

In the end my life is about the same whether I use Paradigms or not - They do last longer and are harder to break and for many players they will definitely achieve long play life.
