Remarkable Software

I'm relatively new to recording and mixing. Improving the mix via mastering has been elusive. The iZotope Ozone 11 is a terrific tool for not only getting the basics correct but also adding the nuance that I cannot yet achieve on my own. Not only is the final result better but I'm also learning the finer points of mastering as I begin to understand just what the AI is doing to my mix. Money well spent.

More intuitive than ever and offer great reference points from which anyone can tweak further. Well worth the upgrades, IMHO, and appreciate the Loyalty pricing as well. Easy to download and install from Sweetwater's site. There are Trial versions available so that you can try for up to 10 Days before you buy. Difficult to top those options. Watch and read the overviews, download and check it out firsthand to best understand the value of all of the many features these latest versions offer.

So far it really is quite amazing, it gets your song really close and then you go in and make final adjustment to your liking.
Cheers Mike

Getting a bit miffed with this company.. I started out with Ozone 7 advanced. It was a very high priced piece of software, I want to say $?? As time went on, I did the upgrades to Oz8, Oz9, and Oz10.. Each one was $, for the upgrade!!!... Nice products, but I'm at about $ or more, and they want me to shell out another $ to upgrade to Oz11??? ..Anyway, I downloaded a trial version, and this time, I didn't feel like it was worth it. I use my Oz10 as a sort of an instant mastering plugin. If I get a really good mix, I often times don't have to change much of anything after it has done it's thing..I did comparisons between Oz10 and Oz11, using identical starting points, and the results were just a bit different. I felt that Oz 11 was a hair more transparent, but accomplished this by sacrificing bottom end, as compared to the results in Oz10, using the same genre modes. I found that the modes were quite different in Oz11.. In Oz10, I normally end up in the POP genre mode, with Rock being a bit too bright. In Oz11, I found that I needed to switch to the R&B, or REGGAE mode to maintain the amount of bottom end I wanted. And I could not convince myself that the sound was better- more of a sidestep, with a few extra bells and whistles. If you don't own Ozone 10, I say go ahead and buy it, you won't be sorry once you get over the sticker shock. But if you have Oz10, I would advise doing a trial of Oz11 before buying. It only took me an hour to decide against it. And part of my decision is based on the fact that their loyal customers are not getting rewarded for their loyalty. Sorry, but another $ is just too much to ask, for a few more bells and whistles!!
