Introducing the Orba 2, Artiphon’s next iteration of their popular Orba electronic instrument. The Orba 2 is a handheld synth, looper, and MIDI controller all in one. It comes stock with more than 100 sounds and four different modes that each have dozens of presets, which can be played in a variety of ways using the Orba’s ingenious system of gestures. The Orba 2 also features robust sampling and remixing functions, as well as the ability to connect to many popular DAWs as an MPE MIDI device. An onboard Quantize function ensures that your beats and grooves sit perfectly in the pocket. Lastly, a trio of applications solidify the Orba 2 as one of the most inspiring instruments we’ve ever come across.

Comprehensive sampling and remixing
Ever wanted to make a song using your dog’s bark or your cat’s meow? How about your friend’s unique laugh? Well, you’re in luck because the Orba 2’s sampling system is the bee’s knees! Coupled with an onboard looper that lets you layer sounds and create songs in mere seconds, the Orba 2 is an absolute blast for capturing unique sounds and turning them into music on the fly. Additionally, new to Orba 2 is the Stem Songs function, which lets you remix real songs made by some of today’s best producers and songwriters.
No empty gestures
The Orba 2’s system of gestures has greatly impressed us here at Sweetwater. Using simple gestures such as tapping, pressing, spinning, shaking, and more, you’ll be able to play the Orba 2’s sounds. Plus, since the Orba 2 can connect to and control your DAW as an MPE MIDI device, you’ll likely find yourself coming up with ideas you never thought of before, thanks to this inventive and creative way of making music.
Go deeper with Artiphon apps
The Orba 2 is compatible with some pretty amazing apps, including Artiphon Connect, Preset Creator, and Orbacam (iOS only). Artiphon Connect is where you’ll save songs, change sounds, and make your own custom samples. The Preset Creator is just that: a desktop app where you’ll create, tweak, and export Orba 2 presets. Finally, the Orbacam app is a standalone music video maker app for iOS that lets you make your own unique music videos using the Orba 2.
