Orange PPC108 20-watt 1x8" Cabinet - Black Reviews
Killer Orange tone doesn't have to come from massive rigs. The PPC108 guitar speaker cabinet clocks in at just over 10" across. Designed to be coupled with the Orange Micro Dark guitar amp head, the PPC108 houses a specially designed 8" speaker for punchy tone. Orange employed the same rugged construction techniques they use on larger Orange cabinets, including the same cool black Tolex, basketweave grille cloth, crest, and badge to identify this cab as distinctly part of Orange's Terror line. If you have the Orange Micro Dark head, then you need the Orange PPC108 guitar speaker cabinet. Grab one and start rocking today!

Great Practice Amp
I had one of the Orange micro terror amps from several years ago. It's been sitting in my guitar room. I was online Sweetwater and saw this little cabinet and decided to purchase. I'm glad I did as it is a great match! Sounds killer and I haven't even turned up completely.
Great little speaker that plays big.
Bought this Orange 20 Watt 1x8" Cab, model PPC108 w/ an Orange Micro Dark 20 Watt hybrid Tube Amp Head for a small practice setup and couldn't be happier.
A little BEAST
Its easy to assume that a speaker like this could be a gimmick. However it is in fact FIRE. This in tandem with the Micro Dark give me the best practice experience. The amp and cab don't hide my mistakes and it feels really responsive. I've play the Micro dark with a 4x12 many times and the single 10 inch still sounds great. It certainly wont' compete with a half stack or a drummer, but it will defiantly be loud as hell. This speaker is also nice and like making it idea for lugging around or even busking if you have a power source.
Orange speaker
Perfect little addition to my studio gear.
Convenient Noise
This cab is great, for what it is. I leave one of these at home, and in places to which I have to travel frequently, and carry an Orange Micro Terror with me. It is loud enough to make my wife leave the house :-) But, also, good enough tone to make me feel like I'm getting decently realistic practice. Easy to put in small spaces where living is tight, and the big Orange cabs simply won't fit. I liked my first one enough that I've kept getting more, as I said, for the convenience of having a cab waiting for me when I travel :-)
Killer
I Wasn't sure what to expect from this little cab, but WOW! I'm diggin it with the micro terror and a zoom G1 four in front of it.
does'nt sound boxy. It can get LOUD!
Thanks to David Yanes for the deal. Shipping was fast. Within 2 hours of getting this cab, I had written a hit song, been to rehab, and am currently on the clean and sober tour! Best part is.....no roadies. this rig and my LP is all I need!
Four Stars?
This isn't really a spectacular cab, but there is nothing wrong with it, either. Honestly, I am digging everything Orange, and this fits right in with their quality. Just, you know, it's a little speaker for tight spaces. It is extremely convenient, sounds very good, and is doing exactly what I need it Giving me a quiet, but good, voice for my guitar while I am staying in tight quarters, this summer. Definitely worth the price, and the Tiny Terror head makes it a perfect set-up for a tiny house.
Great for rooms and apartments
This thing along with the Micro Terror Dark are great. I got this amp and cab because I currently live in an apartment and cant run any larger amps until I can crack it up. I also dont want to feel like that neighbor.
But this thing bumps. Even on the lowest volume setting, it gets great tone and takes pedals well. It also sounds great turned up. As well as this little amp is, I cant wait to buy a larger Orange to see what else they can do at louder volumes.
Nice speaker cabinet
Sounds great portable. Good buy.
I'll pay for this Cab!!!
This cab is amazing! I bought it to go with a mini head that is low watts which is perfect for my apartment and keeping neighbors happy. It perfectly replicates the "British" tones of the mini head with plenty of headroom and the ability to turn it up way more than I had it. The volume was at 40% and it was still pulsing rich and harmonic distortion and warmer vintage tones. If you're looking for a great "mini" cab for a Micro head I say get this one.
Cab
Load and great cab
orange 8" cabinet
matches head great, super sound
Awesome little amp.
Great sound!
Kind of mind-boggling
I bought two of these from Sweetwater (great experience with Dave M., as always) to use with a pair of Hotone Nano Legacy heads (Purple Wind and Mojo Diamond). I have no idea how they get such great sound out of such a little speaker these days, but I love it. These are loud, full, rich, and especially great when you run two a few feet apart. It makes for a very big sound. They're well built, light, and highly effective - and delivered lightning fast by Sweetwater.
Nice Little Speaker
This speaker pairs well with the Micro Dark and Micro Terror for low volume practice. I usually play through nice 1x12 and 2x12 cabinets, so I only use this 1x8 when necessary. The sound is pretty good for the size, but expect some shrillness and little low end. Although I do not own it, the Orange Crush 35RT might be a better practice amp with more tonal options than the Micros and a 1x10 speaker.
Small & Boxy
Some might think small and boxy is a bad thing. To be honest it is pretty much exactly what I was expecting. I work in a small space, and needed a cab that fit on top my digital piano. This was pretty much my only option. After receiving it I plugged in my amp head and started playing. It works fine. Does have a sort of boxy sound to it, kind of like a car that feels chocked when you drive it. You know there could be more, but you're not getting it.
It does exactly what I wanted it to do, and sounds good enough that I'm not going to look into getting something else for a while.
Convenient and portable
I was a little skeptical on getting this because of the size of the cab, but I purchased this as a bundle with the Micro Dark. I will be getting a 12 inch soon, but this is loud enough for small to sizable gigs.

very surpised of the power that this little cab can put out..
For a first cab… great.
I have done heavy research before getting this, and to be honest… it doesn't have the sound of a 12 inch. But that's not what it's supposed to be! For it's size, it sounds fine. It's a little more on the fizzier fuzzy side when you crank up the gain. (I use a Micro Dark head.) However, the clean and breakup/overdrive sounds are awesome! Especially when used with a tele. Personally, to me Orange and Telecasters are a match made in heaven. Anyway, surprisingly, this little box of angry gets LOUD. I can't turn the volume up past 1 or 1 1/2. It gets ear-piercingly LOUD, no joke. The reason for this though, is because both the Micro Dark head and this cab are both rated at 20 watts and 8 ohms. This means that this cab is taking the full, unbridled force of the head, so it gets loud pretty quickly. However you can still get whisper quiet levels… you just gotta have the strength of a blade of grass to slowly turn the volume up. Anyway, besides that, the cab is made of MDF. NOT birch plywood just to let you know. Not a bad thing! Just saying. Keeping that in mind, It feels pretty sturdy and reliable. Overall, it's a good cab with a lot of power! A LOT, of power.
