Love it,
Waited too long to purchase, glad I am now inside this engine.
Omnisphere 2 is a Powerhouse For Synthesizer Owners!
If you're into creating your own sounds, either to sell or use, then this is the answer to all your musical creation dreams. If you can imagine a sound, you can create it with the help of Omnisphere and one of the supported synthesizers. Setup is simple but the initial installation takes a little time, due to the very generous file sizes. To say I am blown away by this software is an understatement, and being a novice, I will get plenty of use out of it over the years, considering I still haven't used this software to its full potential yet. I'm so glad I added this to my REV 2 synth order. Plus, there are plenty of videos available to teach Omnisphere 2 owners how to use the software properly. It's brilliant software, and will remain relevant for decades.
Dopetastic
I already used this program before . Thought it was time to own my own because it's so freaking awesome.
Finally!
I have literally hesitated about purchasing this synth since version 1. I've tried cheaper synths that would do what I needed them to do because I was settling. I have some great Virtual analog synths but needed something extra for my worship rig to compliment my Moxf8. Omnisphere 2 has filled the void wonderfully! Obviously the pads and strings are out of this world but the bells and bell strings are perfect for aux keys. I haven't even scratched the surface yet and there are so many sounds that I haven't explored yet. Already I've set up splits and layers without cracking the manual yet. It's a powerful synth for aux keys or a layer of your stage piano with top notch effects to boot! So far it's a worthwhile investment if you have the budget for it. Shoutout to my sales rep Candace Irizarry who made sure I was pleased with my purchase!
To me this one is probably the best
I've had this plugin for several years now. At first, I was underwhelmed with it. There's a ton of presets I don't like, most of the EDM stuff, also the string and vocal sounds weren't quite what I was expecting. I keep finding more and more presets and samples I like though. And I like how Keyscape and Trillian integrate into it. The architecture of it is easier to understand and more versatile than a lot of plugins. And one of my favorite features is that the CPU hit is much lighter than other top tier synths (Serem, Diva, I love Diva too). Oh, and it sounds superb. No dongle, fair and reasonable licensing on it. Version 2.5 was a significant upgrade, free of charge. The only reasons I could think of not to buy it is that it doesn't do bass particularly well without Trillian and the initial cost of it if you are happy with the plugins that you currently have; the size of it too with the samples if that's not your thing. It is really, really awesome though.
Upper Echelon
If you are looking for pro quality sounds, pads, hits, beds.....there is none higher. Nuff said. Believe and experience. I love just throwing on a pad and coming up with some great concepts. A real great inspiration that draws new ideas as you play. Unparalleled.
Omnisphere - The Synth VST Worth Its Weight In Gold
I do not normally write reviews. If I do, I usually wait some time to experience the product first. I can say without hesitation this is one of my most used synth vst's, if not my most used.
The sound selection that comes stock is unparalleled to anything I have tried before. If I need to add a layer or new sound, this is often my first selection. The sounds often come close to ready to incorporate directly into the mix.
You are going to want some decent computer specs like extra CPU and RAM to run multiple instances of this.
Thanks to my Sweetwater Sales associate Will for making the sale extremely smooth and easy for me.
Omnisphere 2.8
Honestly some of the most exquisite sounds I have ever heard come from this synthesizer, it allows for so much freedom to make sounds just how I want them to sound.
A Most Worthwhile Investment!
Stunning Sounds and Effects! This Program is worth every penny! Also a lot of fun messing with the sound and effects programs. The Sonic Extensions are also worth a look at as they are basically a new synth within a synth. Very Cool!
Great
great great great great great
The holy Grail!!!
Always wanted omnisphere but just didn't wanna pay the high price tag for an instrument plugin..
But tbh I'm so glad that I finally did just that! I really can't say anything that hasn't already been said about this particular plugin..
It literally is a masterpiece for under $.. Can't beat it!
Great Product, Even Greater Customer Service
I purchased Omnisphere 2 2 years ago and unfortunately due to a series of covid related unfortunate events I lost almost everything, including a storage unit full of most of music equipment, including the box for my Omnisphere. Here we are 2 years later and things are now better than they were before covid and I am now resetting up a new laptop to re-download Omnisphere. I go to login to my online account to download it, and find that my password has to be reset, and the email it sent the reset link is one of the last things I lost during covid. Thinking it would take weeks to get this taken care of I sent an email to you all.
I was surprised to get an email back within the hour of sending mine. And from there go back and forth with my customer service rep Kurt, who helped me get into my account and running an hour from the time I sent my initial email. Unbelievable. Paying attention to this part of the business is crucial, because the hour Kurt spent with me they just gained a customer out of anyone that will listen to me next time someone asks for a good synthesizer, because this synth is amazing, and also they're customer service is also amazing, you can't lose.
Yes! It Is Worth The Moneyp
I am absolutely impressed with the sounds and flexibility of Omnishpere. The sky is the limit cliché is a perfect fit for this program. I just can't say enough. Sweetwater's customer service business model gave me something that I didn't know that I wanted, friendly, knowledgeable people that help you with every step of the way. Shout out to
Bryan Brubaker.

Awesome
Really impressed with this synth. Huge waveform palette to work with, great envelopes and filters. One of the best I've ever worked with!
So powerful, rich and lush!!
If only this synth was around in the late 70's! This is the best sounding synth I've ever owned with so many killer presets to start with!! It's like having an OB6, Prophet 5, and CS80 all in a single software interface, plus several others!!!
If you're serious about music creation. Buy this now.
This has been a staple in my studio for years now. Spectrasonics has GREAT customer service too.
Omnisphere 2.6
TEven though I have only had this for a short whileETT
Best Thing
Of the things, this is the best thing
Amazing
This is THE plugin that I needed to make absolute bangers! 100 out of 10 recommend for every genre of music. 14000+ sounds for 479.00 is worth so worth. I love this, endless opportunities and ideas, endless,GO GET IT!!!!!
Awesome Software Synth
I have purchased many software synth plugins over the past several years. I'm amazed that I did not find out about Omnisphere until just in the last year. I was not sure I wanted to spend that much money on a software synth. After some good research, I decided to make the purchase. It's the best purchase I have made. Wow! The sounds this product produce are stunning and the audio quality is at the top of the list. I'm still just scratching the surface in my knowledge of the product, but it is now my go to synth. If you are on the fence and price is making it a hard decision, save up for a couple of months and buy this product. You will not regret it. Love it!!!
Wow
Amazing! Just amazing! Endless possibilities...
Muy bueno
Muy buen producto y de mucha ayuda
This is the only Synth you'll need.
All the HQ beautiful sounds + all the endless options to morph your sound= a priceless addition to your producer gear. Anything that you make with this synth sounds HQ and professional. A big shoutout to Matt @Sweetwater for the outstanding customer service, and always being so helpful and professional. Sweetwater is now my go-to store for all my music needs.
Lives up to its claims
Started off on a good note by coming in the mail in record time (Thanks Mike Conyers and Sweetwater for the prompt and excellent service). As it says on my review title, it's everything it's cracked up to be and more. I can't imagine what kept me from getting this earlier although I think it's the inclusion of the Hardware Synth Integration that did it. I have it linked to my Sledge 2 Black Edition and couldn't be more satisfied. I also recently integrated my iPad Pro into the rig as a second display for more conveniently placed control.
Best Place Ever
amazing place to order from amazing people!
Probably the best software on the market.
I received the omnisphere software on Christmas Day. It's literally been 5 days and with the help of omnisphere I have successfully composed 4 different songs with it and all of it's awesome sounds. Oh yeah. Also. Made money along the way. If you or anyone you know is serious about producing beats and or whole songs. This is the holy grail that everyone is in the race for. Don't be the last one to procure this arsenal for your system. LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you sweetwater and omnisphere. Awesome creation. :))
Always buy Sweetwater
Omnisphere has every synth sound you could ever need. Also I strongly recommend you buy all your gear from Sweetwater because if you run into any problems they have the best customer service you could ever ask for.
Worth every penny
Can't really find any cons.
High quality sounds, easy editing.
I can found sounds, edit and assigned them to outputs within seconds, the same task would take forever in other interfaces such as Kontact, NI.
I REALLY appreciate that Omnisphere does NOT comes up with useless upgrades every year just for the sake of marketing.
Omnisphere is a unique, powerful instrument that worth every penny.
Excellent
Great versatility and deep list of presets. Basically, I do not need any other synth.
Comprehensive, Authentic
Eric and the very talented crew of coders over at Spectrasonics have developed a product so well thought out and complete that over its 10 year lifetime it's only gone through 1 major upgrade. Then with v. 2.6 a whole lot more instruments and features. I can't imagine a synth sound this plugin cannot reproduce. Moreover, there's not a single hardware synth that can do everything Omnisphere does, so if you think the price is steep, name a piece of gear for under $500 that could do all this. I've been salivating for years about getting my hands on Omnisphere, watching all the demo videos, hearing it used on countless records and soundtracks. But, when I finally got it, it exceeded even my already high expectations. I have barely scratched the surface, playing through some of the patches (I love the feature that will search for sounds similar to the current one-whatever that's called) then started programming, having a blast. Like a kid in a candy store. In a way it reminds me of how much flexibility I had with synths like a huge modular setup in my early college days, or the Oberheim Xpander I had, with its matrix modulation, but on steroids. Also thrilled that it integrates Keyscapes, which I got at the same time. So happy. I can imagine spending hundreds of hours exploring this synth.
hours and hours of entertainment
The sheer amount of instruments that come with the basic install is staggering. It takes very little effort to load up 9 or 10 Omnisphere VSTs up in the DAW, eq/compress/distort them and get them all working together. You can just type in "wind" or "bells" or "choir" or "strings" or "arp" and boom, here's 20 things that are close to what you want that you can manipulate with the DAW or with Omnisphere's own inbuilt FX rack. I like that it has loads of 8-bit sounds and glitchy noises that are popular right now with '''the kids''' these days. The arpeggiator is great, the FX are great, the Orb is great. It's super-easy to use and has a massively ginormous sound library.
Omnosphere 2.5 review
Great customer service
Shipped on time
Great products
OMG!!!
Amazing, just simply amazing! This is what makes the difference between your music sounding ok or sounding GREAT! So many sounds and so many options!!! Effects, sound match, sound design, and I"m barely scratching the surface. This is a must have and well worth the money!
A Must Have
Great sound banks right out of the box. Easy interface and very easy to use.
The Best Vst Hands Down!!!!!
It"s so many sounds to choose from. It"s easy to get creative and make melodies. The sound design is out of this world. So many possibilities will come from exploring this vst. I was hesitant about buying, but not even 1 hour passed before I realized that it was worth it. If you produce music or want to produce music, I highly recommend this product. It"s so much you can do. I used to watch producers make beats using Omnisphere so much. Now that I have it, it"s a whole different feeling to actually be using it yourself. Go ahead and spend the $. It"s worth it I promise. Apply for a Sweetwater card or even do the 3 payment option. Don"t hesitate, just buy it.
Music
it Can Be Amzaing if it Can be App That Control for Mobile phone
And Maybe It haveing a Teach Signal Like The New Phones Have (Can Put There Some new Feterues of Control hh Let the Masters enjoe lol
Continues to be the best!
I've been using this product when it was called Atmosphere years ago on my old Apple G5. It then turned into Omnisphere and was one of the best plugins on the market! I have recently upgraded my studio to todays intel standards and this is the first plugin program I have purchased and I love it. Great intergration with Logic Pro, huge upgrade from the old apple chip version. No regrets, Eric Persing and his team have done it again and there is more to come for Omnisphere. It's not cheap but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
omnishere2
Wow! The sounds are amazing! Sweetwater is the best! I have been bragging about them since my first purchase this pass Decemeber. If you haven't experience either Omnishere2 or Sweetwater yet, do do by all means. You will not be disappointed.
Omnisphere2
It"s an interesting synth. It has a lot of mechanisms to play with. I"m still in the process of learning it. The sounds are great and you can change the way it sounds by playing with the parameters. All and all I"m satisfied with the purchase. Just give me a couple of weeks to learn the synth. Good buy for my music production in FL Studio12.
Omnisphere a Virtual POWERHOUSE Synth
I am big on VSTi s and Spectrasonics Omnisphere is A Must have in any serious producers Arsenal Regardless to Genre of Choice...
I am taking a MasterClass Course and One of the Best Electronic Dance Music DJ/Producers Ever to hit the scene Mr. Arm in Van Buuren AVB Recommends It in a List of essential plug ins to invest in. .Though I wish There was a discount For those taking the course or by Spectrasonics themselves to purchase Omnisphere due to the budget breaking price at least Sweetwater helped on working out a payment Plan.....
Just buy it.....
If you want just one soft synth, get this one. It is worth the money.
It's a desert island synth. A survival and Swiss army knife synth. An inner exploration and psychedelic trip synth. The only drawback is that it will make you wish there was an Omnisphere hardware synthesizer, which does not exist (but it should!!!).
The only other drawback, if it is one, is that it has an Omnispherish sound overall. A definite sonic character that seems to permeate much of the sound bank. However, it all works well in mixes and is ripe for sonic mangling anyway.
Like I say in the title, just buy it and support these brilliant digital instrument makers.
The Best Synth I Ever Owned
I have had Omnisphere 2 since it was released and it is easily the best synthesizer I have ever owned. The sound design capabilities seem endless and the sounds provided are amazing. It is a monster. I could sit for hours with it and still never get bored. They did an amazing job with this product and I can't recommend it highly enough. Thousands of presets that are great sounding and the effects are great as well. Synth engine is powerful and modulation choices are huge. Eight different patches can play at once which means if you program it, one key can create a whole song!!! Its nuts!!! My favorite synth of all time by far.
Sonic Pangea
Worth every penny, endless sonic possibilities
Spectrasonics Omnispere 2
Yeah...This is the real deal!!
Incredible Value, incredible Features
I found out about this product by stumbling on it. I already own quite a few keyboards and a ton of virtual ones. I bought this based the features, yes, but what cinched it for me was hearing another reviewer say that he'd get lost for hours just playing and exploring. This product frankly, is underpriced IMHO. I'd gladly fork over 4x whatthe price it at.
I know my way around synths. Studied at the Boston Scool of Electroinic Music back in the late 70s. I have never seen nor heard a synthesis product with the feature set like Omnisphere. Despite its sherr dixe, and complexity, the evening I installed it didn't have to look at one piece of documentation to navigate and make tweaks. The modulation options are virtually endless, just like the sound library. I'm absolutely impressed with the obvious time spent in development and attention to every possible detail.
I have written entire pieces using some of their patches. I think the ability to be able to drop midi files on to envelopes and the ARP is nothing short of genius. So if you have a rhythmic loop of any kind, say a hi hat or cowbell for example, OS provides you with a very cool way of using any pattern and by drag and drop , you apply that pattern on existing sounds resulting in very, very cool results.
It's no wonder this is considered the industry standard, and used so widely. Point blank the most amazing synth, virtual or otherwise I've ever owned. It's constantly allowing the flow of fresh, creative ideas and it's ease of use lets you start building on them quickly.
Omnisphere 2 is amazing!
I've had this software now for a few weeks and I can tell you - it would be possible to spend a lifetime with it! So many amazing sounds I will never hear them all, much less use them. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants fresh sounds, especially keyboard players like myself who are getting tired of the same old patches.
Impressive, and that's understatement
Incredibly impressed with the Omnisphere product. Frankly, I'd pay twice the more than reasonable price for an instrument so well designed, thought out and sonically superior to anything I personally have ever seen or used. I installed it Friday evening, and I'll add this - for a product of great complexity and depth of flexibility in features and modulation options, I didn't have to consult a word of documentation to easily navigate and tweak. That is amazing UI design, and the product is, in word, stunning.
My Boston School of Music alumni pals are totally jealous. And it simply isn't worth having if it doesn't make your friends jealous, eh?
Quality
The proof is in the work put into its' development. Great sound design, amazing textures, rich soundscapes. I often find inspiration to start a track by just going through some of the brilliant sounds Omnisphere 2 offers.
Tasty!
After watching 100's of YouTube videos, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased Omnisphere + Keyscape. Keep in mind this is my first time going into the VST world as I am a proud owner of several hardware instruments including the Jupiter 80, Motif XF7, Integra 7, and many other rack synths.
Given my "newness" to the VST world, it took me a bit of time to figure out buffer sizes and routing, but once I got it going...WOW! This thing really does sound amazing and delivers...and then some.
Though it doesn't have a plethora of bread & butter type sounds, but the soundscapes & pads are absolutely amazing and compliments my hardware and shows in spectacular fashion. When I say it doesn't have a lot of bread/butter, I just mean out of the box. There is endless tweaking and 3rd party sounds available so don't let that dissuade you.
I find myself bringing up a patch/combi, and getting lost for 30 minutes in one sound. It's absolutely amazing with the attention to detail and built in effects. There is also the ability to tweak sounds and I like that they provide a layered approach to this meaning if your a beginner, they offer you basic tweaking tools, but if you really want to go deep, there is sub menus to go into and you can get lost with the endless array of options. If you are a VST expert, they even give you the ability to import your own .WAV forms via audio and use that as a basis for sounds. You will NEVER run out of variations with this VST....I'm 50, and it will probably take me until I'm 70 just to review the sounds it comes with.
My wife was even impressed with the sound quality which was GREAT as I did the old "better to ask forgiveness then permission" with my purchase. She asked how much it cost, and when I told her the price, her replay was "at least you didn't drop $3,000 like usual". Wife approved!
In all seriousness, if you are looking for a top notch sounding library with endless sounds to keep you busy for awhile, this is the product to buy. Keyscape compliments nicely but not a requirement.
Omnisphere Amazing
Excellent value. Many 3rd party libraries, multis are excellent. Truly a notch above many Virtual Instruments.
Meet Your Main Instrument
Omnisphere 2 can be the fundamental instrument in any workstation, regardless of the style(s) of music you produce.
Beyond that, there are 5 things we all want in a purchase like this:
1) Out Of Box Experience: I loaded Omnisphere, and was recording songs with it within an hour.
2) Ease of editing: No one wants to waste time hunting for mod wheel editing parameters, how to stack sounds, how to change LFOs, how to blend samples and synth sounds, how to save banks and multis, how to edit velocity and aftertouch, sustain and release, etc. With Omnisphere, these tasks are accomplished lightning-fast via logical, easy-to-find controls.
3) Expandability without spending more money: Many synths provide you the basics, then bleed you dry with those "optional" expansion pack purchases. Not Omnisphere. Most sounds necessary for any modern recording project are already included in the initial purchase, easily editable and retrievable. Tools for total sound transformation are all at hand, easy and convenient, producing powerful results. A few thoughtful clicks-of-the-mouse and a bit of knob turning, and your generic sound becomes totally unique.
4) And since Omnisphere is at its core a synthesizer and not a sample library (although it includes hundreds of samples in dozens of libraries that you can grow yourself), Omnisphere is not a memory hog. I have a middling computer setup, and am running in Cubase 8 with 13 instances of Omnisphere, along with 4 audio tracks, without glitches, and am right now easily adding another live guitar track. No latency issues so far.
THIS IS AMAZING...
This doesn't just knock it out of the park, omnisphere knocks sound into the next zipcode. I have ableton (which runs this program great) I have purchased probably $1,000 in ableton packs looking for some really good useful sounds and soundscapes. Omnisphere is what i needed and only what I needed, i wasted my money on ableton packs, only to use probably 20% of them, the rest pretty useless. Omnisphere has nothing but solid and i mean solid, like absolute 3 dimensional sound that blows me away. I have only scratched probably 10% of the sounds omnisphere has and it's worth the money, so just wait until I find everything it has to offer. My advice, buy ableton (the cheap version or whatever other program you like) and then buy omnisphere and let it work its magic. If your looking for authentic grand piano, you will not find it here with omnisphere but the soundscapes, oh the soundscapes are way worth the money. These sounds just grow as you hit the keys and morph into absolute sonic beauty. The sound engineers that put these sounds in, deserve a pat on the back. I am beyond happy with this purchase. If your thinking, just buy it, you won't regret it. This is a great worship software. Only music this would be useless for is country and jazz I'd say. Rap, Hip-hop, metal, rock, altternative, worship, ambient (especially) this is what you need!!!
A++
I bought this product almost two years ago and I'm more than satisfied with the product. I recommend this to anyone looking for a powerful plug-in synthesizer. Only thing I don't like about the plug-in is that you cannot do Ctrl + Z but that's about it.
Omnisphere is Amazing!!!!
I have used Omnisphere 2 since it first came out!!!!! I have used is in recording and live through Ableton Live. It is absolutely amazing! I am still finding new patches and uses. Absolutely worth the money!!!
amazing
love it, love it, love it!!!
THE BEST!!!
Spectrasonics should be the MODEL for other companies to follow-Period!!!!!!!!
A soft synth to grow into
I bought Omnisphere 2 a few months ago with the intention of creating tracks for my instrumental guitar work. I also own a mobile massage therapy business in which I write ethereal music for my client's sessions.
In that time (between work and Dad duties), I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do.
The stock patches are all top-quality and very usable for a variety of situations and styles.
I'm currently using an Akai MPK249 keyboard controller and alternate between Cubase, Studio One, and Ableton Live DAWs (depending on the situation).
Whether you're into soft, evolving pads, in-your-face lead tones, or anything in between, it's all here!
Spectrasonics never fails
This and Trilian are the only 2 plugins I ever needed Buy it and find out why!. Very fast shipping and always great customer support.
Best synth
Only synth you will ever need
WORTH EVERY CENT
This software seems to have endless possibilities and just keeps getting better. I had to add my name to the list of people that love this-To write an original piece I usually start with Omnishere, find a sound, modify it slightly to my own tastes by adding the included effects, waves, grain, etc. So much to experiment with.... Simply one of the best products out there.
So Good. Sooooo Much
I can't believe how much stuff comes in this box! This is such a robust program, and it seems daunting at the beginning. However, you can jump in as deep as you want, or stay shallow and either way get amazing sound. The patches are so rich. I love the details of the folders, otherwise it would be easy to get lost in all of the sounds. I haven't even scratched the surface of what this can do, but I'm gonna have a lot of fun digging through.
Deep and wide!
Great sounds right out of the box but limitless possibilities. The mark of a well-programmed piece of software is that you can experience its power by only knowing 10-20% of its capabilities - but digging deeper reveals more and more possibilities and powerful options. Spectrasonics is the stuff. I now own Trilian, Omnisphere and Stylus RMS Expanded. Nobody else even comes close in these categories.
I use this with my Fishman TriplePlay.
My go to Plugin Instrument for pads.
I have owned Omnisphere 2 for a few months now and have only scratched the surface of it's power. I was one of them people who could not see paying this much money for a software instrument but boy was I wrong. This thing rocks and is way worth the cost of admission. The sound of this plugin is incredible and the amount of samples to choose from is almost unlimited. The synth layout is very easy to navigate so coming up with five star pads & leads is fast and very rewarding. Most of the samples are over the top crazy sounds recorded using whacked out tools like toothbrushes and sugar packs to hit, scrape, bow, pluck or slam all types of materials. If you are looking for a pristine Steinway Grand sample it will not be here, but they have recorded one on fire. I mostly use Omnisphere for evolving pads which is it strong point but the uses for this instrument is endless. It is also great for leads, EFX and atmosphere backgrounds. This one is a winner.
Expensive for a reason!
Best straight out the box synth I bought this far. Sounds come mixed and sound amazing. Worth the price tag!!
What You Need
As far as soft synths go, Omnisphere is the real deal. I'm so happy with all the sonic possibilities. The lack of a good piano sound is disappointing, as you think there might just be one included because we're dealing with synths and keyboards here, but that certainly doesn't detract from the overall awesome that is happening here. The onboard plugins are a bit weak, IMO, but if you treat them like subtle efx to your applied synth and then use a separate effect to really drench your track, it's good gravy. A lot of the sounds I get are even more perfect than I could have imagined. Endless creativity can stem from just playing around here and the module is SO easy. Although daunting to master, getting up and running is fairly simplistic and you'll be getting what you want soon after start-up. Can't recommend enough, especially after playing with Komplete. Omnisphere is a WAY better investment...
OMNISPHERE
I have a boatload of Virtual Synths, I love them all, but OMNISPHERE is in a class by itself. If I am correct, it currently has 12,000 sounds!! It would take MONTHS to audition the incredible library included with this software, every possible genre is represented. I also own Trilian and Stylus RMX, their other bass and drum software which is also excellent (You can open Trilian patches in Omnisphere).
The one caveat you need to know is: it is a RAM hog!! You need a fast computer with TONS of RAM ( I use Windows 7 64 bit with i7 Intel chip and 32 GB's of RAM and ProTools 12.4, 64 bit) Using Omnisphere v 2.1 is a journey of endless discovery, simply the best virtual synth out there.
Simply Amazing!
A great tool for any style or genre of music.
Monster Pads!
Omnisphere 2 blew me away! It is the best fro ambient and Pad sounds. I use it with my midi guitar.
Own many and this is the best.
This thing is awesome, wonderful sounds + huge variety. Also it has a very easy to use interface. In my opinion there's no question this is the best in it's field.
The End-All-Be-All of Synths
I simply don't know how it could get any better. If I could only own 1 virtual instrument, this would be it - hands down. They have truly out done themselves. While browsing through the incredible library, the only word that aptly describes what is happening to me as I listen is "Eargasms." This is truly a unique and exciting time to be a keyboard player. Whatever genre or skill level your playing is, Omnisphere 2 will take it to the next level in terms of sound. Is it worth the upgrade if you have v1? Oh yeah. I am even more blown away than the first time I heard the original. Hats off to Spectrasonics. They have created something truly marvelous for us all to enjoy. I am, to say the least, grateful.
Omnisphere Got Even Better!
Didn't think it was possible for this software to get even better but it did. The new wider software window is tremendous, with a great browser and easy searching. On top of that, they added thousands of more incredible sounds. This software is the best of the best. If you don't have it, you shoudl!
Omnisphere 2 the sound of the future
I have always wanted Onmisphere but never took the plunge until now and I am really happy with this purchase. There are so many options for designing your own unique sound and patches, and easy learn interface. I was a Native Instruments user and still use a few of their instruments every once in a while, but Omnisphere has much better quality and in a class all alone. I own quite a few virtual instruments and now that I own omnisphere I will be using it on every production that I do.
Exponentially more amazing
So, I've had omnisphere 1 for a few years and it has served me well. Just about every project I do uses omnisphere and I have a lot of virtual instruments. I could not say enough good things about it. Then comes omnisphere 2 and it doesn't just raise the bar, it launches the bar into space never to be seen again accept maybe when omni 3 comes out!! The new presets are amazing, never have I found a synth that had such a high percentage of usable inspiring sounds out of the box. Now add all the new features that I won't even bother to start listing and you have, in my humble opinion, the most powerful, best sounding VI on the market. I have tons of east west libraries and native instrument stuff and they are great but if I could only have one VI to produce music with, it would be omnisphere 2.
Every sound you could need (basically)
Basically every sound you need. Lots of "party" / heavy kinds of synths. Plus you can craft you own. You can probably get anything you want out of this.
The orchestral libraries are beautiful as well. Like a heavy halo soundtrack. Only thing that could beat them is probably like Vienna Symphonic or something.
My only wish - There's so many sounds it can be overwhelming to navigate. I wish you could just create your own folders of sounds instead of just putting a 1-5 star rating on a sound. It can make it hard to remember which sound you're using.
It gets the job done especially if it has some help
Between Omnisphere and Vengeance Sound Avenger I feel I can accomplish just about any musical goal I would like to achieve but this comes with a 'however'. In stock form it has some very impressive sounds in the preset library and that library is fairly extensive however if you're looking for something out of the box with stock presets you want to use and go no further then this probably isn't what you are looking for to do that job. You WILL be looking for additional sound packs or ultimately (preferably) want to design your own sounds to take full advantage of this tool. View the included presets as guides and hints on what you want your actual sounds to be and and experiment - you will be much, much happier. Alternatively if you want different timbres or sound signatures then look at the numerous preset packs available for this on many websites - Luftrum, Unknown, W.A. Productions, etc - these will cover the genres you feel the base package is lacking. It is capable of making just about any tone or sound you might like but it probably isn't included. I feel this is due to an expectation that you would like to use the extremely powerful tools included to modify and create your own sounds.
Also, if you have a weak system that falls in the lower end of the recommended specs then you will want to upgrade your machine first. I had performance issues with an older trial version on my test box with a slightly older I7 processor but after purchase and install on my production machine (with an R9) I have zero issues with any performance.
Good sounds
It's a great tool to get started with. Won't disappoint you with all the cool sounds it has!
It's more than you think
The install and authorization are easy. Navigation in the software is very easy. If you own another Spectrasonics product, navigation will be intuitive as they share similar, if not the same user interface. But go into Omnisphere with patience. There is A LOT to take in. There are 12,000 sounds (literally). It takes time to get familiar with that many presets, or I should say, find the things you are most interested in.
Think of Omnisphere as a super synth. It has a reputation for producing moody, film scoring sound textures. And that it does VERY well. And yes, it has a plethora of EDM sounds. If you are a programmer, there is plenty to explore not that you have to with all the presets it has. And there is an audio import function that allows for processing your own audio in spectacular and experimental ways (If you are old like me, think Korg Wavestation A/D or Nord Wave times 1000). But there is more. There are simple pads, synth basses, keyboard sounds and lead sounds that a contemporary Jazz or Gospel/Christian musician can use. It isn"t just freaky stuff, its practical as well. If you need really good keyboard sounds, this is a premium software package. And if you have Keyscape or Trillian, they will load in the Omnisphere multi-timbral environment. What Omnisphere isn"t, is a virtual analog emulation. If you want your favorite analog synth, consider Arturia products. But if you need excellent, high quality, professional synth sounds to replace the built-in sounds of your DAW, you are purchasing the right product.
If I have one complaint, it would be to have a favorites menu. Maybe it is there and I haven't discovered it yet. But it would be nice to be able to drag and drop a sound you like into a box. Later, instead of scrolling through a vast set of sounds, you can go to your favorite "go-to" presets.
Omnisphere was what I was missing
Great selection of sounds and it was easy to install. The quality is excellent when compared to many other different plugins. Overall the product is a great asset to have. It has sparked many ideas since I have purchased it.
Very Nice!
This is my go to first when trying to get sounds. Easy to use.
For the price you can beat it! Very happy with my purchase.
Amazing
Great product
Whoa.
To say that Omnisphere is deep is an understatement. Merely browsing the vast array of presets is a bit of a sonic adventure (and a bit of an education; you'll recognize cues from many TV shows and commercials as being simply "Omnisphere playing a G" or whatnot). It is vast.
And it sounds great. Everything is meticulously programmed and sampled - Eric Persing is a genius, and Diego Stocco is a mad genius - and sits nicely in mixes. I find the analog emulation stuff to be...fine, but while very option-laden does lack some of the oomph of a dedicated virtual analog (or a real analog). But that's a minor quibble.
The effects are solid and fit a synthesizer/sampler well. They're easy to figure out.
The main thing keeping it from a full 5-star review is that the UI is a little goofy in spots. There's a lot of screen space taken up by the logo and the "rack ears" and as a result, a lot of the important buttons are eye-hurtingly small (want to investigate your mod routings? Teeeeeny magnifying glass button!).
But aside from that, this is a powerhouse of a synth/sampler, even moreso with the additions in version 2. Sure, you may not ever need to know what a bowed lawn chair sounds like, but if you someday finding you need that weird resonant scraping noise, it's there, along with literally thousands of others.
If you're a professional composer/scorer or just someone who likes a lot fo weird sonic experimentation, this is a must-have.
Omnisphere 2 awesomeness
I have heard others use omnishpere before, but I really just didnt want to put out the money for another piece of software. I am so glad that I did. I play in a full worship band. I purposely did not say anything about buying this. Within the first 2 minutes of our set, our electric guitar player looked at me and said "Your pads are awesome!" One of the other singers looked at me later and said, "I don't know what sound you are playing but it sounds like heaven has lit in on it." Several people have commented on the sound. I use Logic Pro and Mainstage so they are used to that sound quality but this kicked it up to a different level
Very easy to use,
And possibilities are endless. This is a great plugin for your host application. I had a slight problem with installation and initial setup but quickly remedied. I, however, am totally impressed with it. You will not be disappointed with theis purchase.
A Great Products for music, films, games Etc.
I love the Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 wow a great product for all your project.
Omni 2
Very deep software. Great preset sounds and seemingly unlimited sonic capabilities.
It's lit
Fantastic synth, truly amazing. Would be 5 stars if not for the price, and the cpu work load.
Crazy potential…
Great production tool to have on deck.
Pretty fantastic!
I have only had Omnisphere for a couple weeks. So far, I can say it's amazing. That said, I haven't even come close to tapping its potential. What I do wish, though, is that I had listened to my original sales engineer when he told me, some years ago, to try Omnisphere. It's an incredible and very capable tool. Editing and categories are both remarkably easy and useful. What I don't particularly like is that MANY of the sounds are only designed to be played on their own, one note at a time, and so far, I'm having a hard time fitting them into a mix. Nevertheless, NO REGRETS about purchasing Omnisphere! If I were in the business of making hardware synths, I may be getting very nervous with all the incredible options available in the software world...one of them being Omnisphere.
Its a good instrument but Spectrasonics need to work hard at fixing several annoying bugs
I got omnisphere mostly because I was interested in the new hardware profile feature...well...the instrument itself is very nice and useful with lots of sound design possibilities etc...but...the hardware profile (I'm using the novation peak) has some serious issues/bugs that makes it unusable specially when using it with ableton live.
Next I'll try to explain some of those issues (sorry if isn't super clear but is not easy to explain) :
1) when recording automation on a loop (and in ableton live is the only way omnisphere can record automation) ...the beginning of the loop automation records a bump (or a deep) on the envelope been automated. Is like every
time the loop gets to the beginning, the automation gets reset creating all kinds of glitches and /or mistakes.
also in general recording automation is very inexact..since parameters and envelopes get constantly reset to 0...not sure whats exactly going on...but it's unusable
2 ) there is no way to see parameter automation by name ( just
like most other instruments .For example NI etc...)...all i see is the
cc number...which makes it very difficult to find the parameter i like to
edit.
3 ) i found an issue with the distortion : moving the distortion
knob turn on/off the fx creating a loud jump in volume instead of
incrementally moving the level like with the other fxs.
4)the idea of having linked each page on the gui to the knob you are using is not practical...specially once you recorded 2 or 3 knobs automated ,the gui starts changing pages very fast rendering it unusable...yes you can disable it but... is deep in a menu and then how can you know what are those knobs referring to when they change pages so fast? and specially when all the cc mapped are not labeled and you only see their numbers...Why not better have an "automation page" with all assigned knobs in one place?
But again if they can fix those issues then it's a great sounding instruments with lots of sonic possibilities.
I hope it helps
Nice
Very nice application
Composing software - yes. Other music - not so much
Omnisphere is obviously the industry standard for film composing. Its the wrong synth for making synth pop and indie music imho though so make sure you're really clear what you need it for.
I don't understand the appeal
This synth works correctly and runs fine, but every preset sounds like a toy. Every edit I make sounds like a toy. The reverb sounds like any freeware reverb. The power synth features aren't musical at all. I can't get a usable sound out of this. Piano, vibes, pads, leads- seriously I cannot find one clear note that doesn't have a very VERY goofy atmosphere. For the record, I'm easy to impress with a synth. My Moog Grandmother and my MS20 work great for me.
This feels and sounds like a free plugin that needs work for songwriting outside of just digital science noises.
Piano
I am really disappointed in the garbage piano patches in this software. I cannot express how the piano patches included are terrible and utterly useless. I spent hours trying to craft better versions and got nowhere. I assumed they want you to buy a separate piano addon except I couldn't find a piano addon for omnisphere. Go figure
Not as mind blowing as I was led to believe....
First, navigation in Omnisphere SUCKS. It's, confusing, cluttered, NOT user friendly. I go through pages and pages of sliders and knobs that do NOTHING when adjusted, NO difference in sound! HUGE waste of valuable time.
There isn't immediate access to ASDR parameters, at least not that I've found. Those are my go to tweaks that were present on my old kurzweil and Roland keyboards.
I should say, that I am not controlling Omnisphere from one of their dedicated synth mappings, I am using a mouse.... But still, it SHOULDN'T be this hard.
Would NOT recommend. There are YouTube videos suggesting cheaper alternatives.
With that being said does it sound good? Yes. The FX are probably easier to use than the synth parameters.
I'm running an Asus Rog i7 32gb memory, 2TB SSD and Omnisphere lags a little, big cpu hog. Scrolling presents is frustrating because of this.
Learning curve too steep, wouldn't buy again.
Not for weak PCs
...I installed Omnisphere 2.5 over my 2.0 installation and immediately my PC simply could not keep up. Constant glitches and sound lock-outs. This product I would guess uses about twice the computing power of 2.0. It is amazingly powerful but users need to do a backup or system restore point before installing this monster so they can easily back it out if needed.
I did try adjusting the system tab settings to reduce sample memory usage. There is no online help for the system page yet and several of the settings I have no clue what they really do.
I also don't like the fact that the UI is larger than the 2.0 version and if you have a relatively low-resolution monitor it just won't fit very well.
Having 4 instead of 2 voices per patch is VERY awesome especially since it lets you combine two old sound into one new one - but I think this is part of the reason for the perf issues.
I hope Spectrasonics comes out with a patch soon that improves its perf or addresses these issues so it can be trimmed down to the load that 2.0 used.
I use mine with Sonar X2 and even running in stand-alone mode it just sucks too much CPU and memory even when just playing ONE OLD sound!!! Not good guys. I'm going back to 2.0 and will try again in 6 months.
Not Good with Protools 10
Yeah, after paying for this and being told it would be fine with my system I started having problems immediately. Back when I purchased it the specs said it would be fine with protools 10. However, many sounds won't play right and give error messages. Spectrasonics wasn't all that helpful either. So now I either have to upgrade my protools or be be okay with taking a loss on hundreds of dollars.
pathetic UX, not good for sound designers
if you just need quick fix for your annoying commercial, this is the kit. if you are a sound designer, forget about it. has alot of options but also comes with the omnisphere patch police. if you want to save your own presets, only can be done in one location, and you guessed it, the same drive as your OS, OS Reinstall? bye bye patches....COOL PRESETS BRO. this software has been around for decades and the fact I cant save USER patches off my C DRIVE IS ASININE, no refunds, sucker.
