Schecter Omen Elite-7 Electric Guitar - Charcoal Reviews
With its bewitching burl top and hair-raising Heretic pickups, the Schecter Omen Elite-7 is one seven-string you won't be able to keep your hands off for long. The Omen series has been a longstanding favorite to players and customers here at Sweetwater, and we feel the Omen Elite-7 marks a notable upgrade in all the right directions. Back are the substantial-feeling mahogany-maple construction and streamlined electronics. But factor in a slew of visual upgrades, a fast-as-ever Thin "C" neck, and mean-sounding set of hot-rodded Heretic pickups, and this Elite is one Omen that's too good to pass up.

Outstanding
I have had her 6 months now so I can give a fair assessment. The pickups cover all the bases. The is stellar to play and gorgeous to look at. She stays in tune forever. I will be using light gauge strings because the tension is a little much with the longer scale length... but that'd a preference of mine not a knock on the guitar. And my rep Delvin rocks as usual
Looks cool, doesn't sound very cool...
I've owned this for about a year. I barely play it even though I love to look at it. It personally jsut doesn't seem very great to me and I'm making the decision to sell/return it. The pickups are very poor and just sound like junk, so if you want one, plan on buying pickups. Not the best tuners, isn't horrible at staying in tune though. If someone would remake this guitar and put new tuners and electronics, it would be awesome, but I'm just not that type of guy.
Sounds great for the price, but lacking and in need of work
Was looking to dive into the 7 string world so thought this guitar would do the job. Being used to the higher end 6 strings I have, this fell way short. While owning core prs's and gibson, I really don't mind cheaper alternatives so long as they are playable. The guitar had a nice sound, pickups were fantastic, and the finish quality was superb as well as the build quality except for one thing. That one thing was the fretboard and fretwork. any note between the 8th fret and the 15th were unplayable. So I said to myself, no big deal, I'll just give it a nice setup as I have with my other guitars. Fixed the neck angle which was off significantly to playable specs, and adjusted the string height which came a bit low, which is perfectly normal for any guitar sitting for a while after it's build date. Unfortunately it did nothing, as it seemed numerous frets were far from level. For a couple hundred dollars I could have taken it to a luther and got the frets leveled, but at that point I could just buy a better guitar. So I decided to return it and get a PRS Holcomb SVN. Sweetwater was awesome in setting me up for the return. So all in all maybe I just got a dud cause if the frets were okay, this guitar would have been incredible for the price. SO worst case if you like the specs and the look, try it, and if there are issues, return it.
