Schecter Omen Elite-6 FR Electric Guitar - Charcoal Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Poplar Top, Mahogany Body, Maple Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, Floyd Rose Tremolo, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Charcoal

With its bewitching burl top and hair-raising Heretic pickups, the Schecter Omen Elite-6 FR is one guitar you won't be able to keep your hands off for long. The Omen series has been a longstanding favorite to players and customers here at Sweetwater, and we feel the Omen Elite FR marks a notable upgrade in all the right directions. Back are the substantial-feeling mahogany-maple construction and streamlined electronics. But factor in a slew of visual upgrades, a fast-as-ever Thin "C" neck, a mean-sounding set of hot-rodded Heretic pickups, and a double-locking Floyd Rose trem, and this Elite is one Omen that's too good to pass up.

Beatiful guitar and hardware with electronics that shine.

By Robert from Albuquerque on June 7, 2023

The guitar's finish is very pretty and it plays very well. The hardware is a nice upgrade and great to use. Possibly the most impressive part about my Omen Elite 6 FR is the electronics! It features hot rodded pickups, (i think the term means high gain or high output) and a couple of very useful wiring schemes! bridge humbucker (1), single coil bridge and neck, both humbuckers, parallel wiring neck, series wiring neck (5)...really useful wiring scheme and the guitar is choice.

Yea this is a serious guitar

I've wanted a Schecter for years and finnaly grabbed this beast

It's fierce looking, fierce playing and perfectly balanced and its weight is on point.

The neck, if I was asked to design a perfect neck for my taste this would be it.

Now just because I think a potential buyer should hear honesty:

The pickups could use more bite, nothing deal breaking but it's an area for improvement. I'm going to mess with the poles a bit and I'm sure tweaking my amp renders the issue moot anyway. Plus the guitar is **** awesome anyway I wouldn't hesitate to swap out pickups...

The nut sits a little strange on the neck so you feel a sharp edge as your thumb curls over, again not a huge deal and my guitar guy is going to remedy it.

Seriously though I 1,000% recommend it

Wonderful guitar!

This guitar is just awesome. It's so easy to play, whether strumming chords or all out shredding. The Floyd Rose works great and stays in perfect tune no matter the abuse one puts it through! And the finish - oh, that finish - just beautiful. And of course a big shout out to the great people at Sweetwater. The guitar was ready to rock n' roll as soon as a I got it. I would HIGHLY recommend this guitar to other guitarists.

Everything I expected

First; the pickups are indeed "HOT". You don't get a lot of autonomy or versatility, just plain in your face gain. The tone selection is limited and the volume knob... well, not sure why its even there. That being said, I didn't buy the guitar to play jazz, so I am very pleased! The neck is lightening fast and smooth. There is only a slight bit of string deadening around the higher ranges on the last four frets or so. I don't think I would change the action because the pickups pull out an incredible amount of sound so, as long as you aren't trying to emulate an acoustic or want a sweet, clean, smooth sound, then certainly - bang your head. The look of the guitar is just beyond words! By far my favorite grain of my electric guitars thus far. And finally, its a Floyed Rose.. what more can be said. Just tune it once, adjust accordingly and shred until your heart's content. :)

Impressive

I lucked into one of these. Very impressed with it. Schecter s Floyd rose is definitely a huge step up over most in this price range, very handsome and stays in tune! The hot rod definitely is not misrepresented in schecter's description.. The guitars tuning machines are very smooth. The pickups definitely Excell at medium to high gains but turning down the tone knob a bit gives smooth jazzy cleans: I will probably keep them. The volume range is lacking in that it seems to peak at about 3/4 turn, but the saturation increases as you go the rest of the pot's range - cool. The fret edges could use some attention but I'm okay with it because it plays really well(the only reason I didn't give five stars). Action wasn't super low so no fret buzz (I like a higher action anyway). Very light weight. The finish is literally like a sheet of glass and the edges can be a bit uncomfortable on your arm depending on your style, but I really can't complain for the deal I got on this very hard to find axe. Stays in tune better than anything else I have to be honest. Comparable to guitars costing a couple hundred more. Recommend you order one! Won't be my last schecter.
