Schecter Omen Elite-6 Electric Guitar - See Thru Blue Burst Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Poplar Top, Mahogany Body, Maple Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - See Thru Blue Burst

With its bewitching burl top and hair-raising Heretic pickups, the Schecter Omen Elite-6 is one guitar you won't be able to keep your hands off for long. The Omen series has been a longstanding favorite to players and customers here at Sweetwater, and we feel the Omen Elite marks a notable upgrade in all the right directions. Back are the substantial-feeling mahogany-maple construction and streamlined electronics. But factor in a slew of visual upgrades, a fast-as-ever Thin "C" neck, and mean-sounding set of hot-rodded Heretic pickups, and this Elite is one Omen that's too good to pass up.

Plays like a dream, light and easy

By Joseph Lewis from DUBLIN, OH on August 10, 2021

Believe the hype. This is a fantastic guitar. The neck is thin and smooth, and the satin finish makes it a breeze to play. Frets are done well, and the action is just right (maaaayyyybe a little low). The body is light and comfortable; I like to lounge on my couch and play, and this is the easiest guitar I have to do just that with. The knobs move nicely and are far enough from the humbucker and bridge as to not get in the way when you play (I'm looking at you, Ibanez!). The whole look of the guitar is great, too. Though if I had my way, I'd ask for a lighter color. I've seen a review that says these guitars look black in all but the brightest light and I'd have to disagree--the blue color is pretty obvious in all but the darkest light (see picture). Even still, some more color choices would be great--mostly because I already have a blue burst finish guitar.

I've outfitted my Omen with a Fret Zealot system so I can practice scales and chords, and this guitar is super-comfortable to use as a learning guitar. For a low-midrange guitar, this is packed with value. Stays in tune really well, too.

One last note: I got mine as a demo from Sweetwater, and wow, if I had bought this new, I wouldn't have known the difference. The blemishes/imperfections in the guitar were so trivial I literally needed a bright flashlight and a magnifying glass to see the worst one. So I'm already cruising the Sweetwater demo page for my next bargain!

Decent guitar for practice

By Stephen Parrish from MORRISTOWN, TN on August 18, 2021 Music Background: Music Producer

I have been a fan of Schecter for a while, and two others from a higher price point already. I bought this one as a practice guitar to keep in a more accessible area out of my studio. For this purpose it works pretty well. The tuning slips a bit too easily sometimes, and the intonation is a bit off in some spots, but not so much that I can't live with it. The action feels pretty good to me. Breeze to play on, and the neck being satin and narrow also makes fretwork much quicker. The tuners themselves are smooth and easy to turn. I didn't find any of the frets sharp at all. Pups are nice and get the job done, knobs have a rubber grip that makes them easy to turn. The pup switch operates pretty smooth as well. All in all it is a pretty solid guitar. Where I dropped it a star is because the face of the body where the binding would normally be... is sharp. It won't cut you but if you practice sitting down it starts to hurt the underside of your forearm after a while. There are also rough spots around this fine 90 degree edge where the finish was chipped or something before they polished it. Very tiny imperfections so unless you run your finger along the edge or look closely you won't notice it, but your arm will feel the fine edge for sure while sitting down. If you only play standing up then you'll do just fine.

Schecter can do better, as I've experienced with two higher end ones I have bought from them in the past, but it is a pretty nice little guitar for what it is. I think I'll just have to by an arm band to protect my arm in the future though.

Very well made!

OMG! The pictures don't do the guitar justice! Beautiful! The grey neck and wood tone body look great together! A nice compliment to each other! The deep clear finish is extraordinary! The guitar plays smoothly and cleanly. However, I feel the action could be a bit lower. The sound range is incredible! The faders rotate as smooth as glass. Overall a very nice machine for the money!
