I was looking for a nice sounding, simple amp that I could use as a basis for both practice and recording, and this does the job well! This amp delivers a nice clean tone along with reverb and tremolo options on its own, but also does a great job of representing my pedals at a workable volume for apartment living with plenty of room to spare on the occasions I can crank it up a bit.

This is the greatest practice amp I have ever used, verry simple without too much stuff going on. You get great tones, and plenty of volume. The 12" speaker is rare on a practice amp, and it's clean only. I LOVE IT!

I used to own a Kustom 100-watt 2x12 beast with two channels, reverb and effects built in. It was loud enough to crack windows. And I loved the sound if nobody else did.
Fast forward to 2024 and I no longer owned that Kustom amp and no longer lived in a brick siding house where I could play at insane volumes. Apartment life requires some finesse. I started looking online at different amps and reading various reviews. I decided I did not want a digital modeling amp. And tube amps were really not an option either. After looking and searching for what amp I was going to invest in I played an Orange Crush 100 at a local shop. BLOWN AWAY by the clean channel. I don't think I even played the dirty/distortion channel.
So, when I saw that orange had released the O Tone 40, I was intrigued. I watched every video online I could and decided to pull the trigger.
This amp is amazing. First of all, it is incredibly loud. Like amazingly loud. It has incredible bass. Super low-end thump action. The reverb is sweet. The tremolo is very effective at both fast and slow speeds.
The sound is warm and rich. It sounds every bit like a vintage amp. You can dial in glassy bright highs or mellow tones. It is super versatile. And that's just plugging straight into the amp. It takes pedals well - duh. But it actually changes and adapts depending on what you are trying to accomplish. I go with my low gain blues driver and its SRV country. High gain with a boost pedal and it's a 80's hair metal show. Any sound you want can be made with this amp.
And did I mention its super loud???
I am super glad I bought this amp. It may not be the last amp I ever buy but it could easily be.
Orange killed it with this one!!!!!
