Best bang for the buck!
As a part-time working musician, I have three other top quality bass guitars and wanted something I could gig with
and not worry about things happening to my P and J basses. This Schecter works great. Basically wanted something a bit lighter and with a nut width less than my P bass.
Super sweet axe
After back n forth with Aaron Kenney my rep i took his advice and got this over my other possible choices. This is awesome playing and sounds fantastic. I gave away my old ibanez as fast as i could loose it.
Great Bass
The build quality is outstanding, the neck is thin and fast. The pickups and preamp are excellent!
My new go to Bass
The quality and the sound of this guitar is 100% phenomenal thank you Cody Krause for helping me out with this perfect selection it goes great with my other bass guitars I will treasure this for as long as possible
Unbelievably Impressed!!!
I'm giving this bass five stars even though I had ONE slight problem with it.... The volume switch was either BLARING or too quiet... But this was easily fixed when I put EMG pickups in, and customized the controls to my liking (I do this with all my basses)...
But you can't go wrong with this gem. I am blown away at how well she plays, and how comfortably she sits on my hip. The neck is AMAZING and the sound will blow you away. Even WITH the stock Schecter pickups.
Whether you are an experienced player, Name snob that only plays "certain brands", or a beginner, this bass will be a great addition to your arsenal.
Blown away
I purchase many guitars so I can compare to the ones I build for clients. I purchased this alongside a fender MIM bass. Doing my best to nit pick the only thing I can come up with is the center of the bookmatch maple does line up with center of bridge ( off by 1/16" or less) and slight clear imperperfections that would never be noticed unless looked at by a professional refinisher of which I am. The fit and finish of this guitar was exceptional and in my opinion above and beyond the price point. There was fret buzz from the sweetwater settings but I would put that down to playing style as it arrived quite low. Usually I just flip guitars after comparison to what I make but this will be a keeper. I hope you are as happy with your purchase as I was with mine.
Great bass!
I primarily play guitar, but like to play bass now and then as well and haven't had a 4 string for some time. I usually lean toward Ibanez, but this one caught my eye and I decided to give it a shot. I'm VERY glad I did! Plays easy, has a very comfortable neck, and sounds great. The active pickups and eq allows dialing in a wide variety of sounds. Also it looks amazing, and arrived in pristine condition. All in all, a great instrument, great price and as usual a great experience working with Sweetwater (shout out to Ryan Sloan for being great to work with!)
Fantastic
This bass looks and plays really well. The tuners are stable, the pickups sound nice, the flamed maple top is pretty to look at, and the fretboard inlays are like icing on top. Aside from looks, the bass is well balanced and has no headstock dive.
I have to give a big thanks to Sweetwater for packaging the bass very securely in the shipping box. I've gotten guitars from Guitar Center destroyed and damaged from shipping, but this bass from Sweetwater looks perfect. Not a single crack or scratch on it.
Svhecter quality
amazing bass. I have 45 basses and this is in my top 3 for sure. Sweetwater is an amazing place to order from. 55 point inspection comes with checklist from inspector. Great company.

First Bass
My first bass, waited till had time to learn allitle. For a first of anything is always hard ,I feel that this bass made it easy to learn. The beauty of this bass makes you practice every day. The full scale gives you lots of options for everybody experianced or not. The Rich sound will always keep you there were you want to be.
Awesome Bass!!
First off, I can't believe how well this bass is made and looks at this price point. I could not find one flaw in the fit and finish. The pictures don't do the flame top justice. It really is a beautiful instrument. Major props to Sweetwater for having this thing set up, and ready to play out of the box. It was almost still in tune! This thing plays so easy, and sounds great. The satin finish on the neck makes playing easy like Sunday morning. I think this plays better than the Music Man I played for a show. Get it, you will not be disappointed. On to the Sweetwater team. There really is no comparison to anyone out there, except Amazon. Stellar service, they always follow up, and look out for their customers. Kurt and Conner are awesome, and they have a customer for life.
FANTASTIC BASS
I was researching basses and talked to many bass players who play Ibanez. They are all pleased with the instrument and I was leaning that way. Then by chance I met a bass player in a local store who was playing a Schecter Omen 4 through an Ampeg bass amp. He sounded incredible. I asked about the bass and he said he has 2 (omen 4 and older model). He was shopping for bass amps. Short story, I ordered the Omen Extreme 4 and MAN AM I HAPPY with this purchase. I've played it live 6 times since then and each time have gotten comments on the sound and the look. It is beautiful, superb quality. Not a blemish anywhere. For the prices of this instrument you cannot find better quality or sound, period. I've played Rickenbacher, Fender, Marcus Miller and Gibson basses over the years (playing over 35 years) and this instrument is fantastic.
Great bass nice price.
After spending about 2 months sifting through reviews and playing dozens of basses, I chose the Schecter Omen. I set out to upgrade past my beginner basses that I owned think I would end up with a Fender or Ibanez, but was completely blown away by the Schecter which was not on my radar at all. The closest music store with more than 2 basses in my price range is almost 2 hours away. I spent 2 hours there trying to decide what I wanted. There were three or four bases I had to play yet this was not one of them. I tried all the Mexican made Fenders and top Ibanez basses, but nothing stood out to me more than the Omen. I play mostly rock tunes but like to play a little slap bass, so I knew I needed something with good tone selections. The active controls on this bass give me just that. I can get a good deep classic bass tone, but can easily dial up some snappy tones as well. This bass is rock solid and beautiful, and at this price range I was thrilled to finally find what I needed. I was prepared to pay double, but saw very little difference. The neck plays fast and the body is light and comfortable. Now,on to Sweetwater. I thought all the positive reviews were phony, but to my surprise...After connecting with Alex he checked in with me on every step of the process. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the service here was superb. I was sent the photos of my bass, serial number and all. After I placed my order Alex called and asked me how and why I made my decision, and we chatted about music for 10 minutes or so. I thought is was a great touch. My bass shipped two days early and on Thanksgiving weekend no less. It was packaged well and the 55 point inspection was a huge perk and influence on ordering from Sweetwater. I will be doing all of my shopping with them for sure.
Great!! Bass
TR this bass is very good, I love the sound of this bass .and the price is reasonable.so highly recommend.
A lot of bass for the buck!
I bought my Shecter Omen Extreme 4 used. It is a very good bass for what I paid. I love it. I am suprised how easy it plays, how good it sounds, and it is very well built! If you want a good bass at a very affordable price. Look no further!!!
Love it!
First of all, this thing is absolutely GORGEOUS. It also plays really well. Low action out of the box and a fast neck. Highly recommended.
love schecter
Bought this bass 6 months ago, and this sucker rips! Fun to play, great feel on the neck. Super nice finish. I like neck throughs , but the bolt on has such a hot sound. i changed strings , stock didnt cut it. LOVE THIS BASS!
Exceptionally good value, but check closely!
This may be one of the most playable, most versatile, and most visually appealing basses you will find for this price. Love the active setup - can get a huge variety of sounds out of it before even touching the amp. Flamed maple top on mahogany is gorgeous, and the neck is super smooth and is so comfortable to play. Inlays are a nice touch. The action is nice and low and there are no buzzing frets.
HOWEVER - I had to get THREE basses from the manufacturer before I got one that had a good neck. The first one had a warped neck, so I had it sent back. The second one's neck had such an extreme bow to it that it was irreparable. Finally, the third one (that I have now) has a flawless neck. Because of the manufacturer's warranty I did not have to pay anything to have it replaced, but it took a very long time and was very inconvenient. I may have just been very unlucky, but if you do buy this bass (and I recommend it), be sure to check everything closely because apparently some real duds make it out of the factory sometimes.
Like it...keeping it.
So I have had this bass for six months or so and given it a good workout. I like it. I use it as my 'cover band' bass. It is smaller than my Fenders and has a fast thin neck and you can play 4 sets a nite if ya have to and not get too fatigued from holding it. it looks great and the build seems very good. The components on the bass are very good. I really like the knobs. The binding on the body is cool and the body is very nice. The neck inlays are very nice and look so cool as well. I have already gotten compliments on how they look. my nit picks are...the knob functions are not that intuitive...so look on the manual to see what works what. The pickups are decent...the overall tone is a bit generic to my ear but not offensive. It came with the action set a bit too high for my tastes so I am tweaking it to get it just right. Sweetwater set it up great...but, I like it a little lower. Sweetwater is great at customer service. They are doing it right. Great bass for the money. Sweetwater is great to deal with.
