UNDERRATED KILLER!!

By Scotty from Los Angeles on April 11, 2017 Music Background: Live Sound, Producer, Engineer

This is one of those mics I randomly acquired somewhere as a live sound dude and i didn't really know what to do with it or think much of it at the time. I was mostly using it for horns every now and then (it's perfect for sax ps), but bit of a risky polar pattern for noisy venue vocals and it wants to fall out of every mic clip on earth so my OM2 sat for a long time taped into a clip in my bag... thankfully I happened to be half awake for shootout review recently and then did my own with my 58's, senne's betas etc and man is it glorious on live vox. ESPECIALLy, breathy airy upper range female vox that make you want to beat singers with a SM58 --- use the OM2! great body, warmth, presence and VOLUME you can't get with most 58's and the like because of the eq curves and roll offs that seem necessary till... you get the point. if you got a 100 bucks, get one. Couple strips of gaff tape around the housing and it'll wedge into any clip like all it's cousins.

Live use

I happened to purchase this mic at a real steal used from a friend. With that being said this mic is awesome. I have used it in several situations between announcers and singers. It works great both places with a clean, clear sound. Takes a lot of gain before feedback. I plan to purchase several more in the future!

Awesome mic

By DJ Toxic from Franklin,Louisiana on September 28, 2014 Music Background: Mobile dj

This is an awesome mic,I'm a mobile dj and I have tried other mics in its price range and had nothing but feedback issues so I bought the om2 and I'm suprised to say that my feedback issues are gone, this is now my go 2 mic ,I can actually set my mic eq flat without feedback and I sound much better now since I started using the OM2.

Great PA mic

By Sweetwater Customer on July 19, 2012

This mic works very well in a public address system. It offers great quality with a narrow pickup patern which cuts out background noise and feedback.

Audix is the best

By K2 from York, PA on May 19, 2017 Music Background: 7-yrs gigging musician/ singer/ songwriter

Fantastic mic-- good for a great range of voices. We're a trio and two of us sing --between soprano and tenor. The high end has a very nice clarity, no boomy-ness on the bottom end and no clipping on the high end. Recommended-- get several.

Audix delivers once again!

By Allen Cotton from Brandon,MS on June 24, 2014 Music Background: FOH engineer, Production Engineer, Technical Director

I love the OM2. For the price/quality ratio it can't be beat. I have used 58's for years and I have become an Audix ophile. This mic has high gain before feedback, crazy crisp highs and mids and just enough bottom to round out. You will not be disappointed. The only reason 5 stars isn't warranted is it's not the OM7

dynamic must have's

By pan60 from Ar on September 10, 2006 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Live Sound Engineer, Pro Musician, and Hobbyist.

the audix om-2 is a very versatile dynamic mic with a awesome build quality.
it is so easy today to grab the next condenser mic hitting the market, often the dynamic mic gets over looked as a result.
the om-2, ( most commonly seen as a stage mic ) will hold it's own in any studio setting.
here it has found it's way to electric guitar amp's, acoustic guitar, toms, shakers, vocals, and a few other application.
it works on just about anything, fairly flat, and takes eq well making it easier to get a track to set the where you want.
i look to see this mic finding it's way into more and more studios.
i find i am reaching for this mic over the standard sm-57 and 58 on a regular basis.
the price, and the build makes this a must have mic for anyone!

Decent budget option

By Mike from Boston on March 14, 2022 Music Background: Hobbyist, former audio professional

This is a decent budget option, but if you can afford it the OM6 performs better on proximity effect, plosives, and handling noise.
